Jon Posted November 9, 2008 Posted November 9, 2008 All this talk of Sheffield, I might be heading down that way in a couple of weeks for a stagger. We'll see if you can keep up with a Scotsman and his Drams!
Supergrunch Posted November 9, 2008 Posted November 9, 2008 What is it about Sheffield? Half the people I know, both online and in real life seem to either live there or come from there. I just found out my head of department's from Sheffield too. And they all seem to be so erm... polistic about it. Edit: Hmm, seems the morphology of that coinage doesn't really work. I meant polis in the sense of city rather than that of selling, to contrast with nation.
nightwolf Posted November 9, 2008 Posted November 9, 2008 Seems like I missed a huge night in sheffield then . Was waiting for a text most of today, given up waiting, going to go out in the car instead.
Dan_Dare Posted November 9, 2008 Posted November 9, 2008 polistic? Sheffield is awesome. It's a bit of a coincidence that so many of us on the boards are from or live here, but it's pretty cool. edit: You didn't miss a massive one don't worry! it was fun though- we spent most of the night in B&B chillin.
Eenuh Posted November 9, 2008 Posted November 9, 2008 Still feeling pretty crap from last night. I hate getting all emotional over stupid things. But then again it hurts to realise one of the few friends you have isn't as close a friend as you'd thought they were. I'm just naive. I'm bored right now and don't know what to do. Just feel like sleeping all day but surely that'd be a waste of my time. Not that I can think of anything else to do. Suggestions?
nightwolf Posted November 9, 2008 Posted November 9, 2008 edit:You didn't miss a massive one don't worry! it was fun though- we spent most of the night in B&B chillin. Meh it's ok, I don't mind, it's not like I need to be there watching over you lot heh. eenuh; games? Drawing? Reading?

Like nationalistic, only about a city. Failed coinage, nothing to see here... But yeah, I've been there once. What I saw of it seemed quite cool.
Eenuh Posted November 9, 2008 Posted November 9, 2008 eenuh; games? Drawing? Reading? Only games I really have to play right now are Rune Factory (too boring to play now) and Okami (can't play 'cause people are using the tv). Don't really have inspiration for a drawing, though I wish I did. Need to find some ideas... And reading, I don't have any books to read. Should do work for school (research) but I'm really not in the mood for that.

What I saw of it seemed quite cool. oh i get ya. yeah there is something about the place. We have quite a proud political history (we were nicknamed The Socialist Republic of South Yorkshire under Thatcher), we were the heart of some of the best music of the 80s and 90s and Industry here used to be something to be proud of. Most of it's gone now of course, but I think people are still kinda proud to be here.
Dyson Posted November 9, 2008 Posted November 9, 2008 Eenuh! Your sex is on FIIIIRE! ..did that not help? ._.

Raining_again Posted November 9, 2008 Posted November 9, 2008 pure raging. My father decided that I needed this panda security software. Obedient daughter I am, I deinstalled AVG 7. Installed this panda security thing, and my laptop wont boot, whatsoever. Great. So he moans about me having uTorrent and spyware (uTorrent I rarely use and I'm really careful about what I download!) So I decide, right i'll deinstall panda in safe mode. Went back in and did a system restore to when AVG was installed, and it didnt run because the kernel was fucked up the ass. So luckily I somehow managed to update it. Windows was seeing it as installed but the files were missing, basically. So I'm not a very happy camper right now. More pissed off at the fact I was left to sort it out myself after being demanded I installed the thing, then blamed for having spyware. *grumbles* but on a good note, I did get it working!
Dan_Dare Posted November 9, 2008 Posted November 9, 2008 Good work! I'd have NO idea what to do there.
