Dan_Dare Posted May 10, 2007 Posted May 10, 2007 Anyone else pick up the new Bjork album yet? I think it's utterly fantastic. super megalific, like. also, how do I do umlauts on a keyboard?
Shorty Posted May 10, 2007 Posted May 10, 2007 No, because I'm not a big Björk fan - but if you recommended some choice tracks, I'll check them out And... on win xp with English keyboard... alt+0228 = ä alt+0235 = ë alt+0239 = ï alt+0246 = ö alt+0252 = ü These and more (caps) in the Character Map.
Solo Posted May 10, 2007 Posted May 10, 2007 I suggest Earth Intruders and Wanderlust for starters, then move on from there. I'm trying to adjust to it at the moment, it's good but there are definitely a few not so great tracks. I think it'll be a grower.

How exactly do you type that in? Press Alt and the numbers 0, 2, 2, 8?? -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Never really listened to this kind of music, but my flatmate is a fan. He might have it.

KKOB Posted May 10, 2007 Posted May 10, 2007 Had it for a week and a bit now and i FUCKING LOVES IT! Earth Intruders is such a great song to start it and the songs with Anthony Hegerty are amazing. Such respect for the queen of iceland! lol BEST ALBUM OF THE YEAR (bar arcade fire-neon bible ofcourse!)

Works on Vista as well. Just thought I'd mention that. but anyways never heard of Björk... so... what kind of music is it?
Dan_Dare Posted May 11, 2007 Author Posted May 11, 2007 HATEBJORK MUST NOT KILL HER Thicko sense...tingling...!
Blackfox Posted May 11, 2007 Posted May 11, 2007 I have to say, all the Bjork I've listened to makes me want to pull a pencil up my nose, and dive onto it.
BGS Posted May 11, 2007 Posted May 11, 2007 My god. I felt like getting a cd today. I saw this and remembered there being a thread here about it with some great reviews. Not heard much Bjork but I thought "meh, i'll give it a go" The first track is now over and i'm listening to some awful boat horn noises. I really hope this is a grower...
ReZourceman Posted May 11, 2007 Posted May 11, 2007 My opinion of Bjork? Read from reply number 1676 onwards.
Hellfire Posted May 11, 2007 Posted May 11, 2007 Good to know I'm not alone in my hate of Bjork. eheh
Solo Posted May 11, 2007 Posted May 11, 2007 you're all god damn unwashed heathens. I guess they can't get their noggins around her untainted brilliance!
Eenuh Posted May 11, 2007 Posted May 11, 2007 I have a special key for umlauts. Teehee. äëüïö¨¨¨¨ =D I've liked some of Björk's songs before. Not a big fan or anything, but I might have to check some of these songs out. =3
BGS Posted May 11, 2007 Posted May 11, 2007 it IS a grower! I'm loving the album now after being initially unimpressed. Quite nice to have on while doing other things.
weeyellowbloke Posted May 11, 2007 Posted May 11, 2007 Oh Dan I feel your pain, this Bjork hatred is distressing. Not had a chance to give the new stuff a listen, perhaps when I regain access to money I'll get it. In the mean time I hope all goes well and both she and I will be at Glastonbury in a few weeks time.
Hellfire Posted May 12, 2007 Posted May 12, 2007 I don't like her music, but what I really don't like is HER. She tries to compensate for being, well, a midget, by having an onoxious attitude to lure out the media and appear to be a rebel and whatnot. Ugh
Giant Jim Jones Robot Posted May 12, 2007 Posted May 12, 2007 The two tracks I like the most are the ones featuring Antony.
Fields Posted May 12, 2007 Posted May 12, 2007 I just sampled this on iTunes. It was physically and mentally painful.
killthenet Posted May 13, 2007 Posted May 13, 2007 Hellfire, be quiet. Bjork is brilliant. As for the new album, the Timbaland produced tracks are best, "Dull Flame..." is also good, due to having the drummer from Lightning Bolt providing percussion.
