Goafer Posted December 30, 2009 Posted December 30, 2009 I've been giving the album a proper listen this evening. I love New York, Stone Cold Sober, Do You Want The Truth or Something Beautiful and Romance Is Dead. I only started to notice her when I heard New York. I love that song. Looked at a few of her other videos on Youtube and realised she sang a few other songs that I'd heard a few times and kind of liked. Contemplating whether to get the album or not now.
Roostophe Posted December 30, 2009 Posted December 30, 2009 I hate that first song. Mostly because I did leave my heart in Tokyo :p But its lazy. "By the river" clearly suggests they have no fucking idea what they're talking about and just think Tokyo is cool. Like The Villan/Roosterboy (or whatever he's now called) Oi, I may be a Japanophile, but I don't think like that because I'm not a complete fucking spanner, contrary to popular belief. On the other side: I think Aberystwyth is cool, and I've been there. Make of that what you will.

Wait so you can claim this whereas I just say I listened to...bloody double standards. Personally FOB makes me want to circumcise myself by ripping the flesh off with my own fingers. Oh and I like Paloma Faith. She's a weird kind of fun. Edited December 30, 2009 by Ashley
Ramar Posted December 30, 2009 Posted December 30, 2009 Fall Out Boy are awesome. Discuss. I'll take the bait, but I'm gonna get burnt after wards. I'm fully aware you aren't interested in replies but 'hey ho'. I like Fall Out Boy's earlier albums, their new stuff isn't at all good. They even said in an interview their most recent album was their best work, which proves how far up their own arse they are now. I'd have probably agreed with your statement 3 or so years ago before they released Infinity on High.
Paj! Posted December 30, 2009 Posted December 30, 2009 I got Infinity On High for £3 about 2 years ago and haven't listened to it since. Never really want to.
chairdriver Posted December 30, 2009 Posted December 30, 2009 I met Pamola Faith at a party in London. I think she was quite drunk, but either way had nothing interesting to tell me. ---- Polly Scattergood covers NIN's Hurt on her Myspace. Pretty good.
ipaul Posted December 30, 2009 Posted December 30, 2009 I think it sounds like montage music from a teen romcom, at the end they kiss and the viewers all throw up That is exactly what it sounds like! Thought I'd listen to it since everyone seems to hate it and I agree, it's horrid. Everything about that song is so twee and innocuous. Which reminds me: One of my favourite songs. Anyone else like it?
Slaggis Posted December 30, 2009 Posted December 30, 2009 I hate that I've grown to love The Saturdays - Ego. Though thankfully it's far, far better than the shiteous song that was Forever Is Over. One of the worst lead singles '09. Though I loathe the "Sit down witchor ego" bit. IT'S WITH YOUR DAMN IT.
Goafer Posted December 30, 2009 Posted December 30, 2009 Personally FOB makes me want to circumcise myself by ripping the flesh off with my own fingers. I have a wanking accident story that ended up roughly the same way. Didn't involve Fallout boy though. Well, not all of them. Oh and I like Paloma Faith. She's a weird kind of fun. I think that pretty much sums up my view on her. Not sure if she'd annoy me or entertain me if I had to put up with her for longer than a few minutes though.
Paj! Posted December 31, 2009 Posted December 31, 2009 I love your videos, cause they feel so true to life. And surely the point of "Packt Sardines..." is to emphasise the fact they are squished in a crushed box? The most evocative wordplay (not the right word...syntax-play? type-play?) ever.
Ramar Posted December 31, 2009 Posted December 31, 2009 Someone please put a like counter on this video!
Molly Posted December 31, 2009 Posted December 31, 2009 I know you're from Scotland but your accent sounds more Welsh/English...? I love how smiley and nervous you are. Although, please stop saying LIKE!
ReZourceman Posted December 31, 2009 Posted December 31, 2009 I must say I do quite like Pelonima Faith's personality. She seems cool man, in the few interviews I've seen with her in. And Chairdriver, consider me subscribed. Keep up the videos.

IT'S WITH YOUR DAMN IT. i love una's outfit in that - and molly's... good song tho
Coolness Bears Posted December 31, 2009 Posted December 31, 2009 CHAIRDRIVER I WANT TO ADOPT YOU. SO ADORABLE. probably not the response you wanted. i love una's outfit in that - and molly's... good song tho That was exactly my thinking. :p I listened to Nancy Sinatra last night. I'm not sure why. Relaxing though.
Dan_Dare Posted December 31, 2009 Posted December 31, 2009 People: Four Tops feature heavily on Spotify. Hop to.
chairdriver Posted December 31, 2009 Posted December 31, 2009 I know you're from Scotland but your accent sounds more Welsh/English...? Story of my life. Everyone at uni doesn't understand where I come from. I love how smiley and nervous you are. Although, please stop saying LIKE! I'm too far gone.
Daft Posted December 31, 2009 Posted December 31, 2009 I know you're from Scotland but your accent sounds more Welsh/English...? I love how smiley and nervous you are. Although, please stop saying LIKE! Exactly what I was thinking. Sounded South African as well (Cape Town accent, like). A thoroughly entertaining video otherwise. 'Littered with shite.' got a lmfao.
chairdriver Posted January 1, 2010 Posted January 1, 2010 One of my favourite songs ever: The live performance doesn't do it the best justice, but on the studio recording the way they harmonise is just so fucking fantastic. The backing vocals fellate me. The way they dip under lead. And the way the climax is subtle, yet so solid. And the lyrics "But I've always found my way somehow" kinda strike a chord with me, because I never actually had thoughts about my direction before a certain point in my life, and then I kinda thought "I'll just keep doing what I'm doing right now, because its worked up till now." Just so great.
Paj! Posted January 1, 2010 Posted January 1, 2010 I'm not that interested in the Dixie Chicks pre-that album, but that album (Taking The Long Way) is great. Very different to the others cause they reinvented themselves in the wake of death threats and stuff.
chairdriver Posted January 1, 2010 Posted January 1, 2010 I'm halfway through listening to Bear in Heaven's Beast Rest Forth Mouth, and I can say it's exceptionally good. Just my cup of tea; in the same school as Animal Collective et al, but more immediately great. Stun.
Ashley Posted January 3, 2010 Posted January 3, 2010 (edited) Listening to Paloma Faith and Jay Z/Alicia Keys put me in a New York mood so I decided to make a playlist and share with y'all. Mostly indieish rockish interjected with a fair bit of Jazz. Mostly songs about NYC, but also some songs about an unnamed city. New York, New York spotify:user:ashleytwo:playlist:5zEq8vUT6vyb6YMpSPZRRx Enjoy. Or not. Whichever ^_^ Edited January 3, 2010 by Ashley
