The fish Posted August 2, 2008 Posted August 2, 2008 This just in: I fucking love The Postal Service.
Paj! Posted August 2, 2008 Posted August 2, 2008 I was so close to buying Declare Independence in Avalanche but my wallet got the better of me. I do need to get at least one of the singles but I know if I got one I would have to get them all. I think its going to be really interesting at the very least to see the 3 different guys came up with though I hope its not completely unconnected, I wanna see some awesome transitions. My lord, where do you live? I love Avalanche...in Edinburgh...
Dan_Dare Posted August 3, 2008 Posted August 3, 2008 At that level of quality? Herm, no, it's their peak... but all the other stuff are worth checking out too. As for Mars Volta, get Frances The Mute, it's their best album, give it a listen and go from there. But be warned, except for the singles, Mars volta is much more experimental. The singles, however, are 100% At The Drive-In: I have their de-loused in the comatorium album, which rawks. Must get more. Yeus.
Tom Posted August 3, 2008 Posted August 3, 2008 frances the mute is probably my all-time favourite album.
soag Posted August 3, 2008 Posted August 3, 2008 Why all the muse love on this page? God I hate muse lol On another note Be Your Own Pet are splitting up after this tour
chairdriver Posted August 3, 2008 Posted August 3, 2008 I hate when bands split. Especially when they seem cool with each other. Like I'd never have guessed BYOP would split up...
Oxigen_Waste Posted August 3, 2008 Posted August 3, 2008 frances the mute is probably my all-time favourite album. It's a pretty damn fantastic album, truth be said.
Calza Posted August 3, 2008 Posted August 3, 2008 My lord, where do you live? I love Avalanche...in Edinburgh... There is one in Glasgow, I try to get as many cds from there as possible but my friends don't like it that much for unknown reasons. Still when I get a job I'm betting quite alot of my pay will go straight to Avalanche.
Dyson Posted August 3, 2008 Posted August 3, 2008 This just in: I fucking love The Postal Service. Me too man. Shame they won't be making another album, Give Up was simply superb on many levels.
Oxigen_Waste Posted August 3, 2008 Posted August 3, 2008 Me too man. Shame they won't be making another album, Give Up was simply superb on many levels. I'd suggest you get your stories straight. They're already making another album... it'll just be a (long) while till we get to listen to it.
chairdriver Posted August 3, 2008 Posted August 3, 2008 Still when I get a job I'm betting quite alot of my pay will go straight to Avalanche. Tell me about it. I just spent 4 hours worth of pay on CDs (CSS's new one, and the new JAPW album). Technically worth it though.
Gizmo Posted August 3, 2008 Posted August 3, 2008 http://muselive.com/index.php?m=single&id=4182 Muse and The Streets collaboration. They openly stated they were trying to imitate RATM, but Mike Skinners voice really, really does not work at all.
Paj! Posted August 3, 2008 Posted August 3, 2008 I got Ida Maria's debut album, Fortress Round My Heart. It's alright on first listen. Dunno why she's getting juzzed over by NME though.
CoolFunkMan Posted August 3, 2008 Posted August 3, 2008 http://muselive.com/index.php?m=single&id=4182 Muse and The Streets collaboration. They openly stated they were trying to imitate RATM, but Mike Skinners voice really, really does not work at all. It's not been confirmed as legit... yet. though I've got to admit, I'm not too fond of it either, but I don't think it's terrible. Oh, and Muse won best live band at the MTV Asia awards. Here's the video of thier (recorded) acceptance speech: MegaLOLZ!!! That's all I can say. XD
Gizmo Posted August 3, 2008 Posted August 3, 2008 http://www.nme.com/news/muse/35892 Thats them expressing interest in it and I'm pretty sure Muse and Mike Skinner are pretty good friends, so I think it's likely it's real. Also, Dom is awesome.

Also, Dom is awesome. I remember them saying they were planning it, and it is likely to be them. Still, you never know. Dom = LEGEND!
Solo Posted August 4, 2008 Posted August 4, 2008 Anybody liking Keane's new single? I've very disco-esque.
Dan_Dare Posted August 4, 2008 Posted August 4, 2008 Fuck Keane. Worst band ever... on a totally different scale: New Kings of Leon
Noodleman Posted August 4, 2008 Posted August 4, 2008 If the new KOL song is the one they played at Glastonbury its awesome. Dunno what the name of it was though and if you watch any of the set highlights even the "full" set on the BBC website it didnt exist.
Portlett Posted August 4, 2008 Posted August 4, 2008 yeh you can download it for free off their myspace.
Platty Posted August 4, 2008 Posted August 4, 2008 Haha I made it onto the Latitude highlights dancing to the foals. I looked AWESOME........in other news just purchased Crystal Castles album. Pretty good.

CoolFunkMan Posted August 4, 2008 Posted August 4, 2008 Does anyone know when Green Day's new album is out, my favourite band ever!!Paramore and Good Charlotte I find awesome too!! No clue mate, I'd guess that it'll probably be next year now. Billie Joe said that they want to take thier time making it. After all, they have a lot to live up to after thier success with American Idiot. Oh, and I like some Paramore and Good Charlotte tracks... oh, jesus... Now now, be nice.
