Platty Posted June 2, 2008 Posted June 2, 2008 Just opened my music folder and chucked them all into media player and results are: 3546 songs 215 hours Thing is though I own about 95% of them on CD as I have a CD fetish. Honestly I have shit loads of CDs everywhere, I prefer to have them rather than download. I also have a 7" fetish. I got loads of them but don't even have a record player >_<
Ashley Posted June 2, 2008 Posted June 2, 2008 I also have a 7" fetish. .... I have, according to iTunes: 3871 Songs 10 Days Although I have a lot more on my hard drive I've never bothered putting on.
Daft Posted June 2, 2008 Posted June 2, 2008 Holy f*cking shit. I can't stop listening to this. Lost and Found is awesome.
Ashley Posted June 2, 2008 Posted June 2, 2008 Is it really that good? I've had 'Rally' since it was featured in Veronica Mars and its £2.99 in not-Fopp (long story) and I keep picking it up and hmm-ing.
Dante Posted June 2, 2008 Posted June 2, 2008 Do you actually buy all those songs? I only have 209 songs from 11 artists. myself own 22 cds
Paj! Posted June 2, 2008 Posted June 2, 2008 My library is a combination of all my own CD's, music I buy off iTunes, music I illegally DL (usually the stuff that piques my interest, but not by artists I know I love), and a MASSIVE lump of music my dad amassed over his years a computer...guy. Plus Chairdriver and I share all our music.
Slaggis Posted June 2, 2008 Posted June 2, 2008 Mines either stuff I own (19 cd's), Illegally DL stuff (the majority of the rest) and then a few tracks from mates that they've sent me. I IDL most of the music I have on my iPod, and then if I love it I'll go out and buy it. If I don't think it's worth the expense due to it being "meh" or utter balls, I don't.
Daft Posted June 2, 2008 Posted June 2, 2008 Is it really that good? I've had 'Rally' since it was featured in Veronica Mars and its £2.99 in not-Fopp (long story) and I keep picking it up and hmm-ing. Yeah, it's their best album yet I think. Perfect mood for the summer as well. "If I Ever Feel better" is still my favourite song of all time though. Its brilliant on so many levels.
Paj! Posted June 2, 2008 Posted June 2, 2008 Bought Flavors Of Entanglement by Alanis Morissette. her best since Supposed Former Infatuation Junkie. Some fucking thumping songs on there, compared to her more "relaxed" last album.
chairdriver Posted June 2, 2008 Posted June 2, 2008 I have 79 CDs I can actually listen to and enjoy. I have countless others which my sister bought. My iTunes is basically made up of ripped CDs - I rarely download anything. As Paj said, we share music, so I have all his CDs aswell on my iTunes.
Cube Posted June 2, 2008 Posted June 2, 2008 The majority of my songs are from CDs that belong to people in my house.

Daft Posted June 3, 2008 Posted June 3, 2008 Proof the world is going to Hell. 2 High School Musical Albums?! Damn, we'd be lucky to get into Hell.
weeyellowbloke Posted June 3, 2008 Posted June 3, 2008 That list makes me want to vomit blood. Why do so many people in the world inflict such mudanity on themselves? To be fair though, there are a few decent things hidden in there. Just checked and it would seem I have 2193 tracks on my computer totalling 6 days, 14 hours and 38 minutes. Those don't include the cd's and vinyl I have though, which I've never got round to uploading, so the total is probably higher if I were to listen to everything non-stop.
Gizmo Posted June 3, 2008 Posted June 3, 2008 lulz, the only one on that list that I have is Jack Johnson. And even then its #50.
Cube Posted June 3, 2008 Posted June 3, 2008 Minutes To Midnight is probably the best album there. And it's awful.
chairdriver Posted June 3, 2008 Posted June 3, 2008 I like that Amy Winehouse is number 1, because I do actually really like that album. The rest of the list is dire though...
Paj! Posted June 3, 2008 Posted June 3, 2008 Albums I'd consider "Ok to Good" 18. Snow Patrol - Eyes Open – 4904150 25. Christina Aguilera - Back To Basics – 4405350 30. The Killers - Sam's Town - 4012975 31. Dixie Chicks - Taking The Long Way – 3973200 40. My Chemical Romance - The Black Parade – 3362600 I would never even associate ANY of them being anywhere near the best albums of the last 2 years. People like catchy/mediocre stuff I guess.
Tales Posted June 3, 2008 Posted June 3, 2008 Why is that the minority always believe they are more correct than everyone else? Besides, you can't really expect to find all your favourite cds on it. There's like hundrends of genres and tastes and as far as I can see the list has a fair shair of everything. I doubt anyone of us can find more than ten. Personally I found four; Avril, Beoynce and Rihanna.
chairdriver Posted June 3, 2008 Posted June 3, 2008 Why is that the minority always believe they are more correct than everyone else? For people properly interested in music - we aren't in the minority. The majority of people who are properly interested in music listen to decent music. It's all the pre-pubscent kids and people edging onto mid-life crisis that contribute most to the "Top" 50 CDs. Realistically, I value The Bard's opinion on music (even though I'm not a metal fan) more than the 500,000 12 year old girls that bought the Hannah Montana Soundtrack.
DomJcg Posted June 3, 2008 Posted June 3, 2008 My sister bought that i cried, then blasted Crystal Castles at her She liked it, i cried some more
chairdriver Posted June 3, 2008 Posted June 3, 2008 I clapped the day I learned that my 11 year-old sister loves The Sugarcubes.
Noodleman Posted June 3, 2008 Posted June 3, 2008 I only have one of those albums, Graduation by Kanye West, which is miles better than anything else on the list but is still fairly average.
Slaggis Posted June 3, 2008 Posted June 3, 2008 The UK edition of "This Is Alphabeat" Finally arrived. Again, as I've said before I love them so much. I just love the whole 80's sound it's got to it. But "Touch me Touching you" is such a great Electro-Pop track and "Go Go" is a brilliant funky-beat driven song. That's it, I'll shutup now. But buy it! It's pop music, but actually good. Like a review I read said...if you ever have to describe an album as "Fun!" this would be it.
