DomJcg Posted March 28, 2008 Posted March 28, 2008 The age of understatement, by the last shadow puppets, don't know them? i think you do. One's the frontman for the Artic Monkeys, the other's the frontman for the rascals, and it turned out to be really good.
Dante Posted March 28, 2008 Posted March 28, 2008 Anyone heard Art Brut? I have heard of them Dyson. Ive got three songs on my computer. Which are Emily Kane, Formed a band and Modern Art. The Kooks new album called Konk is out on 14th of April.

Slaggis Posted March 28, 2008 Posted March 28, 2008 .The Kooks new album called Konk is out on 14th of April. They make me want to kill myself. His voice is just so annoying when he sings! Truly terrible band.
Dante Posted March 28, 2008 Posted March 28, 2008 Yeah iv got Emily Kane and Formed a Band (Y). Not many people have heard of them unfortunately Wellcome back Davey_T. Yeah I only found out about them from Last.fm recommendations.
chairdriver Posted March 28, 2008 Posted March 28, 2008 One of my ambitions in life: - To record a cover of Sheryl Crow's "All I Wanna Do" (but not in country style - more rocky/indie). I just love the lyrics. Basically sums up what I want to do with my life; chill in a bar on a Tuesday afternoon.
jayseven Posted March 28, 2008 Posted March 28, 2008 Anyone heard Art Brut? Hells yeah, lol... Just the songs everyone else has listed. Ex's brother played them to me about 9 months ago *boo-ya* ... Not really my sort of thing but they're different enough from the generic rubbish these days that I don't mind their existence... I have heard of them Dyson. Ive got three songs on my computer. Which are Emily Kane, Formed a band and Modern Art. /QUOTE] Could've sworn I sent those tracks to you? I guess I R wrong. -- Emily Kane for anyone interested...
Davey_T Posted March 28, 2008 Posted March 28, 2008 Wellcome back Davey_T.Yeah I only found out about them from Last.fm recommendations. Cheers :P. Accidental banning but at least im back
thirtynine. Posted March 28, 2008 Posted March 28, 2008 Since were talking about it, the kooks actually bettered themsleves with this new album, its 100 times shitter than the last. amazing
nightwolf Posted March 28, 2008 Posted March 28, 2008 Oh dear, I've just gone onto myspace and found a few bands I like.. this can't be good..
Paj! Posted March 29, 2008 Posted March 29, 2008 The lead singer of the Kooks is the son of a friend of a mother of a girl in my younger sister's year at school. No joke. I quite liked She Moves In Her Own Way, for like a week.
Dan_Dare Posted March 29, 2008 Posted March 29, 2008 Anyone else got enough sense to call Talking Heads genius'? They're amazing! proof
DomJcg Posted March 29, 2008 Posted March 29, 2008 The kooks new single, SUCKS lots. You heard it here first folks
Ramar Posted March 29, 2008 Posted March 29, 2008 I still have to get Panic's new album, but I'm pretty sure I won't like it that much, as Nine In The Afternoon is pretty bland. I loved the uniqueness of the first album. I just got this shit in the post today. I thought the first album was awesome. But this new one, it's the same slow acoustic driven drivel. It's awful, I've only given a few tracks a listen then skipped through the rest to check if there was anything upbeat.. I feel like I've been robbed, I really do think 'fame' and money have gone to these boys heads.
Wesley Posted March 29, 2008 Posted March 29, 2008 Anyone else got enough sense to call Talking Heads genius'? They're amazing! proof Got their Greatest Hits. Good stuff!
killthenet Posted March 29, 2008 Posted March 29, 2008 Indeed, Talking Heads are fantastic. A shame that David Byrne's solo stuff was never as good. Although he did do one fantastic solo album, if you haven't heard it you should check it out. "My Life In The Bush Of Ghost's" by Brian Eno and David Byrne. It was the blueprint for "Remain in Light" and its fantastic.
Dan_Dare Posted March 29, 2008 Posted March 29, 2008 it's all about Burning Down The House live, really. woop woop.
Dan_Dare Posted March 29, 2008 Posted March 29, 2008 there's a video of it in the youtube search I posted. Anyone who's not seen it really, really should.
Cube Posted March 29, 2008 Posted March 29, 2008 Wyclef Jean's new single: poor song, but the video is fairly cool.
Dan_Dare Posted March 29, 2008 Posted March 29, 2008 Anyone else got enough sense to call Talking Heads genius'? They're amazing! proof Wyclef Jean's new single: poor song, but the video is fairly cool. pssch. talk about lowering the tone.
gmac Posted March 29, 2008 Posted March 29, 2008 Road to Nowhere and Once in a Lifetime are probably my favourite song of theirs, and love the videos as well
