Also booked tickets to see the audition (friend really wanted me to come, and they are ok) and 30 seconds to mars!!!! YAY :D

My music taste is varied, does anyone hear like club music? You all seem to be naming more rocky style bands.

Thanks, I'll check out Dream Theater, they seem a bit pretentious though, if I remember correctly.

Also, Jay8 m8. That is a long name. Or two bands?

Pretencious? Why?

You should also check out Liquid Tension Experiment, which is Dream Theater without the vocalist basically.

Ok, enough of that...

Hmmmmm, Tool? Try Porcupine Tree, it's more up that alley than Dream Theater.

Or rather, post-rock & metal fusion bands like Isis, Cult Of Luna, Russian Circles... maybe even Neurosis.

I like the Killers. One of the only current "chart" bands that I can actually bring myself to listen. Like their lyrics, sound and songs overall.

I think it's the way peoples brains are wired. I think Bjork is like 5 levels above most other artist, but other people don't and think she can't sing and just wails. This makes me instantly think they must be stupid or something. But with liking avant-garde peopole comes a sense of superiority. You don't notice it until people like Bard and Oxigen (mainly Bard) go on about it. I personally can enjoy almost all genres of music. I mean BootyLuv's "Shine" isn't as credible artistically as "Pagan Poetry" by Bjork, but does that mean I have to slag it off to the extreme? No.

I think it's the way to totally rip things to shreads, Bard. You don't like them = shitshitweshitcrapawfultalentless etc.

Eh, i'm over it. In the end, everyone's entitled to listen to what they want. I like having a music taste than can accept most things (maybe it's "musical ignorance", i'm sure to you it is).

Do you like, I dunno... All American Rejects? Senses Fail? Do you want melodic stuff like Wood or slightly screamo like Cauterize or Eighteen Visions?

So yeah, say what other stuff you like and I'll give you some more refined suggestions.

Another good band to pair up with TAAR is New Found Glory, they have similair vocals but its more fast paced,

I've built up my music collection over about 2-3 years and have about 60-odd albums (not that much really:P)

I'll listen to pretty much anything, aslong as I like it.

My fave bands are The Red Hot Chili Peppers (Blood Sugar was the first album I bought and to this day is my absolute fave), Jane's Addiction (just simply amazing, love all their work especialy Ritual De Lo Habitual), Alkaline Trio (A great dark, punk rock band with clever lyrics and great song writting), Rage Against The Machine (Only recently got into 'em but I could tell from the first time I heard 'Killing In The Name' that this band was something special) and Disturbed (Down With The Sickness is amazing)

Other faves include (in no particular order)... System Of A Down, Kasabian, KoRn, SlipKnoT, Evanescence, Jimmy Eat World, Hot Water Music, Dead Kennedys, The Offspring, Green Day, Rancid, Transplants, Porno For Pyros, Alien Ant Farm, Blink 182, AFI, The Bravery, Heavens, The Zutons, The Doors, Stiff Little Fingers, The Clash, Panic Channel and some others which I've most probably forgotten :P

Yay, been playing flight of the bumblebee, can get it down well at 208bpm. It's pretty easy, but it looks really hard to play. Great for showing off :heh:.

My mate was playing this really wierd band called Boards of Canada...they are fucking wierd as hell. Just random beats with crazy noises...and...it was wierd. How's that for articulating myself. I'm gonna play him Battles next time I see him...kinda thing he'd love. For good reason too = ).

Tsk, you've never heard of Boards of Canada. I'm frankly shocked at this revelation. It's damn fine listening when relaxing in bed daydreaming of castles on volcanoes and distant galaxies.
