ZeldaFreak Posted February 10, 2007 Posted February 10, 2007 Manhunt , Godfather , scarface , mortal kombat , Disaster day of crisis , i dont think those are kiddy games? as they said maybe in 2 years we'll see some adult games so the Resident evil game from capcom will also be an kiddy game? but a lil is true its also fun for kids thats becouse its for everyone not as they prefer it as a kiddy console Yes but if they don't sell very well - then theres no point for capcom. Capcom wants to make money - they no that the cost of developing a new title catering for a mature audience may not sell as well as if they placed a new mature audience ip on the 360/ps3. Gamecube over PS2. Nah they supported the ps2 way more than the GC
DanielTimothy Posted February 10, 2007 Posted February 10, 2007 It was a very good game but a bad Resident Evil game. It's the only one I've played, could you elaborate further? (Interested)
Cube Posted February 10, 2007 Posted February 10, 2007 It's the only one I've played, could you elaborate further? (Interested) Take the good stuff out of RE4, replace it with nothing. There you have the other Resident Evil games. Still....Surely Capcom know that a large audience for "mature" games are the "younger players" that they are talking about....(even tho they can't develop games specifically for that reason)
Shino Posted February 10, 2007 Posted February 10, 2007 Nah they supported the ps2 way more than the GC Yeah, i was joking. Specially since I don't like RE that much.
Dante Posted February 10, 2007 Author Posted February 10, 2007 short version : no zombies, Umbrella gone & action-horror.
ZeldaFreak Posted February 10, 2007 Posted February 10, 2007 short version : no zombies, Umbrella gone & action-horror. action horror >>> bad camera angle shooting games(RE0 - RE3) mad humans >>> zombies
Domstercool Posted February 10, 2007 Posted February 10, 2007 Capcom supports consoles with the smallest market share in Japan ie PSP over DS, 360 & PS3 over Wii. They probably want to see sales that show mature games selling really well on the DS or Wii first. Ah for me it's all good though *strokes okami*
mcj metroid Posted February 10, 2007 Posted February 10, 2007 Resident Evil 4 wasn't even all that good anyway. OH HELL NO It was a very good game but a bad Resident Evil game. OH HELL NO cmon it saved a dying franchise.it was different in the same way super mario 64 was different from Super mario world
Cookyman Posted February 10, 2007 Posted February 10, 2007 Well if this is Capcom's opinion of the Wii I'm sure they'll re-evaluate their opinion of the system once Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles is released and the sales for it will will be strong. This is assuming that they make a good game but I imagine they will as they knew how to really push the Gamecube and the Wii has a similar achitechture so if RE: UC's rocks then we'll deffo see more adult games for the Wii. Also will be nice to see a developer really push the system I think we're all gonna be in for a pleasant surprise.
Zell Posted February 10, 2007 Posted February 10, 2007 What are you people on? RE4 is one of the best games ever...
Fierce_LiNk Posted February 10, 2007 Posted February 10, 2007 action horror >>> bad camera angle shooting games(RE0 - RE3) mad humans >>> zombies Your first point is alright, but your second one is pure madness. The zombies in remake are fantastic. Especially the "crimson heads" (is that what they're called?) If you forget to burn the bodies. I had a nasty fright when I encountered one of them for the first time. *walks into room* *hear's sounds...like banging.* *wait...wtf is that sound?* *it sounds like...running?* *zombie appears..running..and it goes for my neck.* *you are dead screen appears* "WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT?!" I'm not a jumper. I don't jump all that often in films or games, but that really shit me up.
Domstercool Posted February 10, 2007 Posted February 10, 2007 The series might of needed a change, but it certainly wasn't dying. The series constantly got good scores. Gamerankings Resident Evil 0 - 83% Resident Evil Remake - 90% Resident Evil Code Veronica (first verison, Dreamcast) 94% Not bad at all really. All the games still rock to play anyway.

Capcom really knew how to push the cube and for that reason they'll really push the Wii - I'm expecting big things for RE: UC's.
Dante Posted February 10, 2007 Author Posted February 10, 2007 action horror >>> bad camera angle shooting games(RE0 - RE3) mad humans >>> zombies Less Ammunition / Survival Horror > Lots of Ammunition / Action Horror Zombies > Mad Humans
mcj metroid Posted February 10, 2007 Posted February 10, 2007 im not sure which i prefer to be honest. Before 4 was released i was a sceptic but i loved it to bits.i have so much found memories of resident evil 2 on ps1
Domstercool Posted February 10, 2007 Posted February 10, 2007 All this crazy arrow action, hmmm. Main series Resident Evil games WOOO. I'd take them all and play them.
Kurtle Squad Posted February 10, 2007 Posted February 10, 2007 Less Ammunition / Survival Horror > Lots of Ammunition / Action Horror Zombies > Mad Humans Yep!!! .....I don't get why people are so foiled by the fixed camera angles in Resi, and all you need to do is aim in the direction of the creature...
Zell Posted February 10, 2007 Posted February 10, 2007 I think we agree that in terms of survival horror, original RE > RE4. But! RE4 is still light years better than fixed camera REs.
Goron_3 Posted February 10, 2007 Posted February 10, 2007 the 'which resi is better' argument is alot like the whole 'which Rocky is best'. As a Resi/Rocky films...Resi4/Rocky4 aren't as good (Resi4 isn't that scary and rocky 4 isn't that Rocky-like) but they are both extremely entertaining, and you'd be a fool to say that despite the fact that Resi 4 isn't like the originals, its an incredible game.
Cube Posted February 10, 2007 Posted February 10, 2007 But, I would say: Action Horror > Psychological Horror > Survival Horror. In terms of horror games. RE4 is simply amazing.
Zell Posted February 11, 2007 Posted February 11, 2007 Yes, an action game is far far more entertaining than a survival horror, a reason why I liked RE4 so much more.
McMad Posted February 11, 2007 Posted February 11, 2007 Resident Evil 4 was one of the best games ever, the Resident Evil series should feel honoured that it has that game.
Hellfire Posted February 11, 2007 Posted February 11, 2007 This discussion is old, pointless and boring.
Jasper Posted February 11, 2007 Posted February 11, 2007 Capcom has gone up and personal with Wii. Such an attack could mean a lot to their forthcoming Wii future, to be honest. The hardcore will dislike what they said and dispise the games they make for it. Even though they haven't released a single game yet. And Zelda sold a million copies - wich is realism, no? But okay, even the second parties get a lot of realism support, with Red Steel selling like hot cakes. What a load of bullocks from a man trying to make his company popular... Desperatly. After 'Desperate Housewives', 'Desperate gaming companies seeking to do stupid things with their PR'. Soon on Sky One.
Pit-Jr Posted February 11, 2007 Posted February 11, 2007 "We have more titles coming to Wii than what’s been announced however, I must admit, many of them (outside of RE) are not mature titles despite the fact that’s an area Capcom is known for. These upcoming announcements should be a laugh, right up there with Konami's recent deluge of 'target audience' crap. This is all Nintendo's fault!!
