Its kinda the oppsoite of "FTW"

CSMB = Can suck my balls.

E.g. "People who do wrongful things to animals CSMB"

Or "Racist people CSMB"

Cool?

IRttT, I think FTW is way overused, but CSMB is much better than FTL.

On this forum FTW is hurrendously overused. TBH IIRC Ive never even heard it on other sites.

But... but... it could also stand for such things as:

Cained Super Mario Bros.

Campbells Spicy Meat Balls

It doesn't matter, it's the internets and no one will ever know!

By the way, out of interest, do most internet geeks etc. who use the term meme know who invented it and for what purpose? I always wonder what he thinks (if he knows) of the way it's used now.

I first heard the word meme used by the genius himself, Hideo Kojima.

I am almost certain most webfolk use it on that basis

It comes from Richard Dawkins, the famous atheist zoologist from Oxford. He used it in The Selfish Gene to describe Religion... But this use of the word is right. He'd probably approve.

Haha I heard Hideo say it too.

He was talking some crap about MGS theme being Gene, the MGS2 theme being Meme and the MGS3 theme being Scene, I think that's right.

What a load of crap...

You have lost a month of your life now

But yeah, Gene was about passing information through DNA: Big Boss - Solid, Solidus, Liquid etc etc

Meme: Passing information digitally, wall paintings > books > da intanet

Yeah, that kind of it. "A unit of cultural information transferable from one mind to another." Of course the internet, or 4chan or whatever can act as the culture.

Yeah, 4chan has hugely contributed to a lot of the memes we see today

e.g orly owl, pedobear.

Fact is, the site 4chan is a meme in itself, because its derived from 2ch.

Its one big fat family tree.
