Didn't SNES come with Super Mario World bundled at launch?

I think that's a good match, despite being a very diferent genres.

Wii Sports might be the best multiplayer game bundled with a console at launch though, no doubt.

games dont cost 25 to make..

who said they did?! I think Nintendo added £30 on to the cost of the unit for it! for more profit, just based on how much cheaper the JAP wii is compared to EU and US.

It's £112 in japan, £127 in america, around £170 in the rest of europe and £180 in the UK.

It's hard to tell whether it was free or not with the inflated EU prices, but I was expecting it to be much less than £180...

That famous day they announced the pricing, they instantly lost 10 million plus sales...

Solitanze are you a complete jack ass? Jeeze.

Well considering how well Wii Play sold, If Wii Sports was bundled with a Remote + Nunchuk for ~€65 (extra tenner for nunchuk) instead of being a pack in, then the Wii would've cost > €270/£180 and nearly everyone would've bought WiiSports.

All Marios pretty much own it, as does Tetris, but that doesn't make it any less awesome. I wouldn't have picked it up if it didn't come bundled and that would've been a real shame.

I don't know if you can call it a freebie, but I reckon it's one of the best games i've ever played. No other game i've ever owned have I shared with more people. I know people will look down on it because of it's extremly simplified gameplay, and unremarkable graphics, but i've played the game with 5 year olds and 70 year olds, and i've had fun. And to me that's the sign of a good game. Probably the best pack-in ever.

Try adding on a few zeros.

WiiPlay only sold well because the controller was packed in with it, no one would've bought it otherwise.

No they didn't, it sold out worldwide.

You should have already learnt that trying to use *logic* against solitanze is pretty pointless. After all, he lives in his own faery tale land that has its own bizarre laws and rules.

Indeed. If anything has lost Nintendo sales, it's their inability to keep up with demand.

As far as I'm concerned, the people bitching about the price - and in most cases not just the price - never intended to buy a Wii anyway. They're the ignorant 'it's just a Gamecube with a gimmicky controller' type people.

Does anyone agree on having th 'most utterly stupid remakrs competition' of 2006? I'de vote for this gay, since he obviously has forget anything that happened around him and thinks the trees can talk and tell him the future. They told him by telling stupid remarks he could win something. The tree doubted what exactly he would win, but it was or a spanking or a million dollars. A Bbush told solitanze it was the first one.

But to the point: no, it's not. First, I agree it's not a freebie but a price-pusher for Nintendo (and it's not really worth the value of 40€). Second, the NES had Mario Bros. and Duck Hunt. At least, I thought that was a launch freebie. If not, the launch game for SNES did the job of being the better freebie. And my Nintendo64 came with, erm, nothing. Just like everyone else's. mario 64 was not a freebie with your console. So no, I don't believe it's the best freebie ever. And I don't believe it's a freebie either...

We could have done a lot worse. I doubt we'd all be buying it unless it was packed into the console, afterall.

Wiisports comes with it to show people to new to wii the innovation and possiblities with wii and gaming in general. Mostly targeted at non-gamers, partly why I think it wasn't included with the wii in japan, because it has already happened with the DS. People in the west are still unsure about the whole thing. It's not as if nintendo spent millions developing a new game only to think, dam, no one will buy this shit, lets pack it in with the console to recoup our losses. I ceratinly would have bought it anyway, and I think it's wonderful. It really shows of what the wii is capable off, whereas, despite the fact that it is a brilliant game none the less, zelda doesn't.
