Zombie_Fan Posted December 19, 2006 Posted December 19, 2006 What I want GTA 4 to be like The past GTA games have taken place in the 80’s and 90’s. I like the 80’s look in GTA: Vice City and Vice City stories, but I think another 80’s theme GTA would be an over kill. I like GTA: San Andreas, and GTA 3, but I never really cared for the 90’s theme (I think the 90’s sucked, but that’s my opinion). I think GTA 4 should take place in the 70’s. A 70’s sound track would be great. It would have Disco, Hard Rock, Rock, Classics from the 50’s and the 60’s, early Punk, and so on. Except for GTA 3, all the other installments have had a kick a$$ sound track, and GTA 4 should have one as well. There are also some little things I want. 1. the option to play as a Male or Female 2. full character customization 3. more weapons 4. more cars 5. cool cars 6. full car customization 7. bigger city 8. deeper story 9. lovable characters 10. more drama then violence
Daft Posted December 19, 2006 Posted December 19, 2006 Simple, include animals and children! Imagine a level in a Zoo...
Fierce_LiNk Posted December 19, 2006 Posted December 19, 2006 More drama than violence? Loveable characters? Are we still talking about GTA, here?
Zombie_Fan Posted December 19, 2006 Author Posted December 19, 2006 Simple, include animals and children!Imagine a level in a Zoo... LOL Parents would be going crazy. Killing children would be to horrible even for GTA. More drama than violence? Loveable characters? Are we still talking about GTA, here? Even though I like the GTA series. I never really like the characters. their are no lovable characters. I want to fill sad if one of the main characters die. A good mix of drama and violence would make GTA 4 a great game.
Sanchez Posted December 20, 2006 Posted December 20, 2006 My friend's brother has a hookup at rockstar, i'm going to see if I can get into beta testing or at least some sort of tour for this.
fanman Posted December 20, 2006 Posted December 20, 2006 1. the option to play as a Male or Female Then they don't fit into their role. 2. full character customization It's not the sims. 3. more weapons Then you don't get used to the ones you have, and have to keep swapping them. 4. more cars There are already quite a few. 5. cool cars It's meant to be a real life game (not totally, but you know what I mean), so normal cars are okay. 6. full car customization Need for speed. 7. bigger city Bigger cities have a lot less character. I couldn't get into san andreas at all as a result. 8. deeper story Not deeper, just longer. 9. lovable characters Excuse me? 10. more drama then violence Grand theft auto = violence If they try to go like saints row or driver, then it will suck. I just want rockstar to stick to the winning formula of the last few games (excluding san andreas).
Zombie_Fan Posted December 20, 2006 Author Posted December 20, 2006 1. the option to play as a Male or Female Then they don't fit into their role. (It worked in Tony Hawk's Underground) 2. full character customization It's not the sims. (I know its not the Sims, but its still a good feature) 3. more weapons Then you don't get used to the ones you have, and have to keep swapping them. (Your character can keep his/her purchased weapons at their hide out, and just pick out the weapons they want to use. I don't think weapon swapping will be a big deal.) 4. more cars There are already quite a few. (more the better even if it's just five new ones) 5. cool cars It's meant to be a real life game (not totally, but you know what I mean), so normal cars are okay. (GTA 4 can have normal cars, but it can also have sports cars, muscle cars, and other cool cars. 6. full car customization Need for speed. (GTA: San Andreas let you customize your cars so Rockstar games should improve on that. Saints Row also had it and worked out great.) 7. bigger city Bigger cities have a lot less character. I couldn't get into san andreas at all as a result. (The bigger the better.) 8. deeper story Not deeper, just longer. (Your right, but it can also be deep and longer.) 9. lovable characters Excuse me? (Whats wrong with having at least one lovable character in a GTA game?) 10. more drama then violence Grand theft auto = violence (GTA 4 can have both tons of violence, and some drama) I was wrong about say that their should be more drama then violence, but it still needs some drama.
The3rdChildren Posted December 20, 2006 Posted December 20, 2006 All those things would be great, especially character customising. Hopefully they'll do a cool cops/robbers online mode alongside co-op play and a go kart to drive around in. It would be wrong to include killable animals and children in the game - although back when you accidentally blew up the children's hospital in the top down games it was hilarious. Also, going on a rampage in a zoo would be great, especially if you could tame a lion and ride around on it wielding a machine gun like some kinda modern day He-Man.
triforcemario Posted December 20, 2006 Posted December 20, 2006 Two things I want: A) None of that "Gansta" shit. It made San Andreas my least favorite GTA game. B) None of those "RPG" elements. They just made the game pretty boring.

1UP Posted December 20, 2006 Posted December 20, 2006 You just dislike black people dont ya? Are you saying all black people are "gangasters"? I definatley don't want a bigger city, it then takes ages to get everywhere and half of SA was like desert..
Johelian Posted December 20, 2006 Posted December 20, 2006 (edited) I want a Canadian setting, complete with Mounties and excursions into the mountains and getting attacked by bears (of course this stuff happens to all Canadians), with snow weather systems etc...some real Due South action. If I cant have that then Ill go with a prohibition aera with speak-easys, tommy-guns etc etc etc. Pretty slim on both accounts Id say. I quite liked a number of characters from GTA3-SA. Love Fist were definitely my most memorable - their missions were hilarious ________ Silver surfer reviews Edited February 16, 2011 by Johelian

It's just all for crappy imitations like saints row. The best thing rockstar can do is to keep it the same, some actual variation from saints row. I thought they might do the london 1969 setting from the add-on on the first one. Just a theory, would probably suck though.
Guest Jordan Posted December 20, 2006 Posted December 20, 2006 Set it in the future, with a super hero and with morphable cars! Oh wait thats Crackdown, which seems to be the safebet. Only it wouldn't sell because its not "badass" enough.
Noodleman Posted December 20, 2006 Posted December 20, 2006 get rid of the bollocks RPG esq elements from San Andreas please. I dont want to have to basicaly level up by going to the gym thanks it was annoying.
Zombie_Fan Posted December 20, 2006 Author Posted December 20, 2006 You just dislike black people dont ya? Just because he does not like the gangsta thing, that does not mean he dislikes black people. I don't like the gangsta thing, yet I have some friends that are black.
dabookerman Posted December 20, 2006 Posted December 20, 2006 *sigh* People still take me seriously ¬_¬
Mikey Posted December 20, 2006 Posted December 20, 2006 Hilary Duff should be the main character. She should look as photo realistic as possible. That would be just excellent.
Bren Posted December 20, 2006 Posted December 20, 2006 10. more drama then violence Thats what makes gta fun
Zombie_Fan Posted December 20, 2006 Author Posted December 20, 2006 I hope GTA 4 will be as good as the others and have some kind of online play. That would really add on to the fun. Even though I like San Andreas, it was not as good as Vice City. I don't want the series to go down a slope. Where it slowly go's from good to bad.

solitanze Posted December 21, 2006 Posted December 21, 2006 GT: HD was officially cancelled in the US right?
Zombie_Fan Posted December 21, 2006 Author Posted December 21, 2006 I don't know if GT: HD was canceled. This thread is about Grand Theft Auto 4.
