Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes (24th June)
Dcubed replied to darksnowman's topic in Nintendo Gaming
I wouldn’t be so sure about that yet… AOC was supposed to be a straight prequel to BOTW before it turned out to be a confusing timey wimey story (because the Zelda series desperately needed ANOTHER timeline split). Who’s to say that they aren’t going to pull the same stunt again with Three Hopes? -

Advance Wars 1+2 Re-Boot Camp (21st April 2023)
Dcubed replied to Hero-of-Time's topic in Nintendo Gaming
People will do very strange things for internet clout and Twitter attention; this is far from the dumbest move I’ve ever seen. And this is even a high profile unreleased Nintendo game! Of course people would want to show off! Still, at least we’ll now have a means of seeing/playing (the latter via illegitimate means) this game if Nintendo do indeed decide to never actually release it. This will be the Switch’s very own Star Fox 2 or “Earthbound Zero”/Earthbound Beginnings. -

I’m not gullible enough to believe her new excuse; you’ll probably also change your tune when the game ends up on piracy sites very soon… -
Advance Wars 1+2 Re-Boot Camp (21st April 2023)
Dcubed replied to Hero-of-Time's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Absolutely impossible. It is 100% piracy. And just to confirm, I had the game preordered myself from the very first moment it got put on the eShop; I got no such pre-load. Pre-loads aren’t made available until 1 week prior to release anyway; so this story is verifiably horseshit. Expect to see a ton of YouTube/Twitch/Twitter streams of this game with everyone parroting this same, convenient excuse. -

Pirated copies have leaked it seems… -
Chrono Cross: The Radical Dreamers Edition (Out Now!)
Dcubed replied to darksnowman's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Oh, BTW, for anyone wondering. Its been confirmed through datamining that Chrono Cross is actually running in a PS1 emulator, it's not actually a remaster at all. -
Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack: N64 & SEGA Mega Drive (& GBA!!)

There’s no escape now! MWAHAHAHAHA!!! Now you’ll get sarcastic golf quips AND sarcastic claps! At the same time!! -
Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack: N64 & SEGA Mega Drive (& GBA!!)
Dcubed replied to Julius's topic in Nintendo Gaming
They just give you a couple of pre-made save files with fully decked out custom characters in each stat. Mario Tennis would have all the GBC courts unlocked as well. -

Wonder if they’ll eventually do an SP version with the GBC Transfer Pak content unlocked… -
Chrono Cross: The Radical Dreamers Edition (Out Now!)
Dcubed replied to darksnowman's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Huh? So it does feature the original OST after all? Were S-E just talking bollocks when they said that it had a newly updated soundtrack? I mean, that would actually be a very good thing in this case because Chrono Cross’ original OST is excellent! -
Chrono Cross: The Radical Dreamers Edition (Out Now!)
Dcubed replied to darksnowman's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Chrono Cross isn't exactly what I would consider to be a hard game; there's never really a need to grind. There are some clever bosses and enemies that require a bit of strategy & thought to beat them, but I can't imagine that you'll ever really feel underlevelled. -
What are various series' lowest points?
Dcubed replied to Glen-i's topic in General Gaming Discussion
While the Kirby series doesn't really have any real major lowpoint per-say (though him being attached to the F2P Team Kirby Clash games on 3DS and Switch certainly rubs me the wrong way), a rather strange promotion literally just got announced that certainly fits well within the theme of this thread! Presenting... Kirby hocking Suntory's Craft Boss Coffee brand in Japan! Not exactly how I imagined Kirby celebrating his 30th anniversary, but whatever gets his rocks off I suppose -
Ruddy hell! I can’t believe it’s real and that Ron Gilbert is back!! Fantastic news!

It's like the original Elevator Action, except awesome and badass! Gameplay footage says it all. It's as fun as it looks.

Heads up @S.C.G. More Saturn games in-bound for Switch! Including the following… Akai Katana is also getting a Switch port too! Nice.

Yeah, I agree @Hero-of-Time. E3 used to be one of my favourite times of the year. I loved the mad hype, insane speculation and the excitement of the show itself. I mean, entire console generations were made and broken literally overnight at these shows! The stakes were super high and everything was that much more exciting as a result. But for all of the fun memories I have of the show, sadly it just lost its spark in the late 2000s from 2016 onwards; especially as it was warped into a consumer event where literally anyone could attend, and the value of media-hands on previews, developer interviews & such just evaporated. As much as we focus on the conferences themselves, everything else that surrounded them was arguably much more important. E3 is supposed to be a trade show at the end of the day, not just an outlet for conference videos that can just as easily be broadcast on YouTube. All good things have to come to an end someday sadly

Holy Necrobump Stanley! I didn’t even know that we had a TSP thread! Checks OP date… this game is over a decade old now!?!? Oh God I’m so old!!

Chrono Cross: The Radical Dreamers Edition (Out Now!)
Dcubed replied to darksnowman's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Huh? I thought it was an optional download? (Or maybe I’m thinking of the extra download for FF10-2?). That case is understandable though, because of Vita cartridge storage limitations. But yeah, every subsequent release has the option; and it’s basically a standard feature in all modern remasters that also feature arranged soundtracks now. -
Chrono Cross: The Radical Dreamers Edition (Out Now!)
Dcubed replied to darksnowman's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Only on the original PS3 release; every subsequent version includes the choice of the original or arranged soundtracks. -
Chrono Cross: The Radical Dreamers Edition (Out Now!)
Dcubed replied to darksnowman's topic in Nintendo Gaming
WHAT!? That's absolutely outrageous! I don't believe this! If I wasn't buying this for Radical Dreamers with Chrono Cross being a bonus, there is no way I would be buying this! They HAVE to patch in the original OST, this is ridiculous! -
Looks like 3-4 player modes run at 30FPS... A shame. Otherwise it looks good. Thank Christ I can replace those repugnant sportsmates with Miis though!

BTW, Japan is getting Harvest Moon instead of Earthworm Jim 2... That seems... really arbitrary? Odd decision, considering that Harvest Moon has previously been made available on both the Wii and Wii U VC services in all regions before... while EJ2 got a Japanese release back on the Wii VC. Also noteworthy, this is the first time that the SNES version of EJ2 has ever been re-released (all previous re-releases of EJ2 have been the Mega Drive version).
