Well that's random! Looks like Nintendo are actually starting to put that Expansion Pass money to good use on securing more 3rd party licenses and remembered that the NES/SNES service still exists
-
The 3rd sword upgrade is quite possibly the most broken ability in Kirby history (It's certainly right up there with Archer!). It makes absolute mincemeat out of everything lol.
-
No lies detected. The guy is a two-faced lying cunt.
-
Holy shit!! It's actually coming out!!! I can't believe it!! I'm legit super hyped for this one!
-
Also worth noting that the Master Sword was originally forged in The Sky, during the events of Skyward Sword... Perhaps part of this game's story is going to tie into SS, and Link is going to have to return the sword to the Goddess Flames in order to reforge the Master Sword?
-
Of course it was. But the part where he says "the expanded world goes beyond that" is a pretty clear indication that there's more to the new map than just the addition of The Sky... It's not hard to figure out that he's hinting at the Underworld map that was implied by the first trailer (I mean, it's no coincidence that there have been exactly two trailers, with one showing an Underground map and one showing a Sky map...).
-
BTW, we got some legit new information about the game from that video that we haven't really noted... 1: The Master Sword is broken & dishevelled. Clearly the sword is not in a good state, and that obviously has a role to play within the story with how they went out of their way to show this. 2: Aonuma confirmed officially that there is a seperate Sky world map that resides above the original BOTW map (implied before, now made official). This also has another implication in that it makes the outer parts of BOTW's original map (that were previously inaccessible) now fully accessible thanks to the new skydiving mechanic. 3: Aonuma implied that there is actually a 3rd new map in addition to The Sky... and I think that it's The Underworld (as seen in the first trailer). I reckon that the reason why they don't want to reveal the title yet is because it relates to having worlds above and below... so I reckon it'll be something like The Legend of Zelda: Worlds Apart, or The Legend of Zelda: The Light Above & The Darkness Below. Or maybe they'll go full cringe and highlight the three maps with something stupid like The Legend of Zelda: Tri World Force.

So March 03/03/2023 it is for BOTW 2 and Switch 2 then... All according to keikaku.

Ahh, Smug Mode!

PS+ subscribers would presumably just get put onto the equivilent PS+ Essentials tier I would imagine. Sony can afford to give PSNow subscribers the free boost because so few people actually subscribed to that service to begin with; and they can hardly take away their current access to PS Now that they've already paid for without people (rightfully) rioting, so they don't really have much of a choice here since they don't have any other PS Now equivilent tier.
-
Interesting quote from Jim Ryan here; gives a good impression of Sony's priorities here I reckon.

Trophy support has been a bit of a monkey's paw with PS4's PS2 game selection... it's a big part of the reason why the PS4's selection of PS2 games was so rubbish, as it can take between 2-3 months to add trophy support to a single game on average. I'd much rather they ditch the idea and just give us the unaltered original games; means more time can be spent on improving emulation quality and ultimately game selection.
-
If these PS1, PS2 and PSP games are indeed native releases and not cloud streamed? I wouldn't go assuming that... There is significant engineering work needed to ensure that these games all work properly when running on PS4/PS5. PS4/PS5 does not currently have a significant selection of PS1 or PSP games; while the current PS2 selection is well described as anemic at best (also worth noting that a big chunk of those PS2 Classics games that were released on PS4 flat out do not work properly on PS5). I wouldn't expect a massive list of PS1/PS2/PSP games on day 1; but rather a library that continuously grows over time.
-
They're probably still negotiating rights at the moment; so they won't be ready to announce that yet. Also worth noting that this will probably be a rolling and every expanding library, much like NSO and the PSN service before it; so what you get at launch won't be everything you'll ever get. Quality emulation takes time to produce and perfect. I just hope that Sony don't get bored and give up quickly like they did with their PS2 games on PS4 initiative. The PS3's selection of downloadable PS2 games absolutely dwarfs the PS4's selection, which is just pathetic really.
-
Yeah, it is quite expensive. Really depends on how big the actual library is (and the quality of the emulation) if it ends up being worth it. Edit: There's also a real big jump between PS Plus Essentials and PS Plus Extra! And only a small one from Extra to Premium...
-
Oh shit!!! I missed that!! Ok, you now officially have my interest Sony! DON'T fuck this up like you did on PS4!! Actually, come to think of it... They don't list which console that the classic games will be available for... Could this also be made available for PS4 as well as PS5? If that's the case, I won't need to buy a new console!
-
It's not just PS3, ALL of the classic games (PS1, PS2, PSP and PS3) are done via cloud streaming.
-
And there it is! Knew it'd be cloud streaming for PS1, PS2, PSP and PS3... Almost certainly continuing to use the current PS3 streaming racks. Damn shame Sigh... guess my PS3 stays hooked up. Time to buy some replacement controller batteries again I suppose...

PS1: Metal Gear Solid, Castlevania: Symphony of the Night (Yes I am aware that the PSP version is currently available on PS4/PS5), The Adventures of Little Ralph PS2: Silent Hill 2, Gitaroo Man, Breath of Fire V: Dragon Quarter PS3: Puppeteer, 3D Dot Game Heroes, Ico/SOTC Collection PSP: Half Minute Hero, Tales of Eternia, Monster Hunter Freedom Unite
-
That's kind of the whole point of the game though... it's not suppposed to feel good and you're not supposed to feel like a hero playing it...
-
Quality pickups there @Julius! Puppeteer is perhaps the single most underrated PS3 game, very good game that's pretty reminiscient of Dynamite Headdy; that was sadly overshadowed by the release of the PS4. But yeah, every single game pictured is a winner! You'll have a great time with all of them

Personally, I always thought that BK’s camera is better than Mario 64’s… at least in the original N64 version; the 360 version is a total downgrade in that regard.
-
Wario Land 3 is so damn good! Amazing game! Level design is absolutely off the charts! It's just amazing how they made levels which dynamically change over the course of the game... AND then there's a day/night cycle that affects them too!? Bonkers! How do you even begin to design this stuff!? I think that WL2 is probably my favourite WL game overall, but WL3 is absolutely top shelf stuff!
-
You are very wrong, and yes, you should try it before judging. You'll almost certainly love it!
-
Super Mario Bros is the first game I can think of that did any sort of interactive music (music speeding up when time is running out). This is absolutely criminal though!! Come on! It's right there on the N64 NSO service! It's an all time classic! You MUST play it!!
