Ok, here's an updated version with the whole auditorium.

It depends largely on the market that the Wii U and 3DS eventually manage to cultivate. Iwata has gone on record to say that he aims to create a market on both consoles where games of all budget ranges can succeed and if he can manage that, then I think we'll be seeing a lot more RPGs. Also, you have to remember that the Japanese market is dominated by handheld consoles now, a large factor in the move of Japanese developers from console to handheld. The Wii was selling well, up until around early 2009 when it all fell apart (and what little support it had dried up immediately) There is a chance that you might get some multiplatform Vita/PS3 releases but I think that they'll largely flock to the 3DS anyway (budgets are lower and it'll probably be the better selling console) Demand for the genre is still there, these games do still sell well and even in the west! (Look at DQ9!) Outside of maybe the Wii U, you won't be seeing much support for RPGs on Sony and MS' consoles. The market is too small in Japan and the western audience for their consoles have been conditioned to accept nothing less than blockbuster AAA budgets, so that dismisses the grand majority of games in the genre. Just one issue I have with what you've mentioned here. Monster Hunter isn't really an RPG. It's an action game with loot and very minor RPG elements (It doesn't have EXP or leveling up), so I wouldn't really count that one.

Nice idea, but that's just the Stalls isn't it? I'm at the front of the Dress Circle, so I can't put my location in here (and the map on the main site has changed to the interactive map (which is a flash file and isn't particularly well suited to what we're doing here) Does anyone have a complete map they can upload?

Got mine here in London (Took em bloody long enough!)
-
The offer is for the US only so far (Promo code is ZELDA, but that didn't work for me ) Oh well, got my tickets booked (Seems to be selling out pretty fast, 15 mins in and all the VIP tickets seem to be gone already! - not a big deal since there's no way I could afford 4 VIP tickets anyway!) We're gonna be in the Dress Circle, Row J, seats 17-14. Can't wait
-
Nope. It was apparently submitted for approval by NOE, but nothing else has been mentioned yet so it should still be coming. Meanwhile, Cave Story DSiWare happily sits on my US DSi (which I cannot transfer to my UK 3DS )
-
Apparently Ireland has them, but I haven't seen anything in London yet. BTW: Detana Twinbee is the next 3D Classics game! (after Urban Champion) http://www.nintendo.co.jp/3ds/eshop/sacj/index.html Also, I haven't seen it posted here yet but Japan just recently got a sequel to Picross DS! (The one made by Jupiter!) http://www.jupiter.co.jp/3ds/picrosse/ The Japanese eShop actually has quite a few original 3DS download games now.

I don't give a toss about Achivements. They should've given you the option to just disable leaderboards and achivements when you use the cheats (not actual saving) Hell they could've put a little "cheater" icon next to your save file. It would've been funny!

Phew! Finally done! I have officially added everyone on the first main page! Remember, I'll appear as N.Muffin on your 3DS instead of "Dcubed"
-
If you're going near the West End, be sure to bring your 3DS. There's always tons of people walking around with their console there! (I've got around 45 people on my Streetpass Plaza so far and my mates have got 60+!)

Agreed. The Blue/Black colour scheme really gives it a unique personality. Very nice looking machine!

Well I was really thinking about Mario Kart DS rather than DD (where the snaking wasn't nearly as abusable), but the new system makes it so that you really have to think about where you can get away with powersliding without sliding off the track (unlike MKDS, where you can basically powerslide at any given opportunity) And of course, MKDS online just ignored the weight ratings anyway. Also, you can dodge the Blue Shell in every Mario Kart since Double Dash.

Video game magazines you used to read (and still do?)
Dcubed replied to Helmsly's topic in General Gaming Discussion
God I miss Super Play/N64 Magazine. That was the best mag ever. (Will Overton is the man!) NOM was good as well, at least as a kid. Always enjoyed their banter (despite how juvenile it was. Hey! I was a kid) I actually found some old NOM mags recently and read through them all out of nostalgia. Still like em (A guilty pleasure for sure ) Still, Super Play/N64 Magazine was the best. Nowadays though, the only magazine I actually read is Retro Gamer (actually probably the only good and well written Games mag in existence right now) -
For me it depends on the game. I don't mind a bit of slowdown (really almost all games suffer from it to some extent, new or old) but games like Banjo Tooie and Perfect Dark took it too far. I still enjoy them, but the low framerate does hurt the experience; though I guess that's not so much of a problem now with the 360 versions (shame that both re-releases manage to bungle the games up somehow - BT cheats disable saving, WHY?!) You're in luck! The VC release fixes that problem! Silky smooth 60FPS goodness Ok, this series is the one exception. I wouldn't have Bangai-O any other way

I actually quite like the name. It's a cool way of bringing back the old "Land" name while avoiding the obvious problems with it. Calling it "Super Mario Land 3D" makes people think it's a remake of SML (Or a remake of Wario Land!) It also steers clear of the more recent games as well and cements it as being part of it's own subseries, rather than just being another Galaxy or NSMB game.

Inazuma Eleven Looks To Be Heading To Europe!!
Dcubed replied to Hero-of-Time's topic in Nintendo Gaming
About bloody time we got it here in the UK! (too bad I already got my one from Scandinavia!) Ahh well, good to see it finally happen! -
I'm betting that the 8 player maximum limit is something to do with a local wireless limitation and they decided to just drop the max to 8 on all modes to keep consistency (that and there were some complaints of items having too much of an effect in MK Wii - though I think that's bollocks! The more the merrier! ) Really looking forward to this one, despite the horrible naming choice (Why start numbering it now?) As for the whole snaking thing, I can snake perfectly fine but I don't miss it all that much. The new powersliding system is actually probably more strategic! (Though I agree that the bikes are overpowered. Nobody chooses the karts and for good reason!)

Hey! I have my FC here. I'll be adding all of the FCs in this thread later on today after I get back from work! Dcubed/N Muffin: 4682-8495-2193 I have both Super Street Fighter 3D and Resident Evil Mercs! See you around

Japanese phones are no more powerful than our phones. It'll run on the latest handsets for sure. Looks absolutely amazing though!

I played on a Wii for the first time yesterday...
Dcubed replied to Wesley's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Get a US NTSC Wii and you'll have plenty of reasons to play! Especially since Metroid Prime 3 comes out next month for us importers! Honestly, the PAL lineup sucks monkey balls (Except for Mario Strikers that is!) -
Finally, got the game and I love it! The controls were a little weird at first but I got used to it after around 5-10 minutes, Wiimote aiming rocks! It's so clever how they used the stocks (Which I was wondering how on earth they would make work with the Wiimote) it was so awesome when I found out that attaching the stocks to the gun just decreases the sensitivity setting on the Wiimote Waggling for QTEs and the knife works really well (much better and more responsive than in TP!) but I am disappointed that they didn't redraw the menus and onscreen displays (They just took the GCN letterbox ones and blew them up ) Overall, it's awesome so far!

While it is certainatly in the BBFC`s right to refuse to classify any game or movie, they do so very rarely and I doubt that this decision was taken lightly. That being said, I call into question their method of reviewing games, supposedly a group of individuals from different backgrounds play sections of the game for about an hour or so each using cheat or debug codes. Because of this I doubt that the reviewers got a chance to see much of the game`s storyline. Considering that their big concern was that there was no real reason for the violence I call the BBFC`s decision into serious doubt here! Personally I am of the belief that all censorship is wrong (unless it`s done because of animal cruelty or actual real murder, rape etc...) regardless of medium and I always hate to see anything get banned or censored. Ratings are there to protect younger people who are potentially vunerable to certain content. Adults should not be subject to such protection.

Wow, this... is bad! Hopefully they won't ban it throughout the rest of europe, at least you'll still be able to import it then. Please don't ban it in America, Please don't ban it in America, Please don't ban it in America, Please don't ban it in America, Please don't ban it in America, Please don't ban it in America, Please don't ban it in America, Please don't ban it in America, Please don't ban it in America... Actually America love violence so I should still be ok.

I didn't see anyone post this and I couldn't find anything in the Official Anime Thread so here ya go! If the viewing figures are good, they'll probably launch the channel properly! Spread the word!
