  1. Hey! This game’s good! Gonna have to pick it up myself
  2. Hey look! Another arcade port! These are rare for the platform I swear!
  3. Hey! At least it’s some sort of acknowledgement of their legacy. That’s always nice to see I wonder if it’s being outsourced…
  4. Just the one highlight from me this week, but it’s a good ‘un… Fun night as always
  5. The Suikoden series did indeed give you 108 playable characters to collect and battle with in each game; so this game is actually a downgrade by comparison
  6. Here's another genuine arcade port, a rarity for the console. TBH though, this is a port that probably could've been better because it seems to have been ported from the PS1 port of the arcade PCB; and looks/runs more or less identically to the PS1 version. It also runs at a rock solid 60FPS, just like the PS1 version, another rarity for the N64. It lacks the FMV cutscenes of the PS1 version, instead sticking with the same real-time cutscenes as the arcade Zeus Board original. I've never played it myself, but it seems like a solid enough port that could've probably been better. A much more faithful and near perfect arcade conversion would later hit the Dreamcast as a launch title, under the moniker Mortal Kombat Gold.
  7. Jesus... even Level 5's announcement showcases are chronically delayed... It's a miracle this company is even still alive at this point.
  8. So… Antonblast is a ripoff of a ripoff? Neat.
  9. Wow! Wayforward are busy! How are they pumping out so many titles!?
  10. The goo was just too thick and viscous to fit through the May hole... August 2nd it is.
  11. Just beat the first scenario… yeah, this game slaps. Great fun with the Joy-Con motion controls, I love how you can do feints with very slight movements of your wrists. It’s all just mad satisfying to play. The hit reaction sprites… Oh My Daze, the animations are riotously funny Yeah, it’s great
  12. This looks stupid... I approve
  13. Yeah, that's basically confirmation of the Switch 2 internal delay rumour. It's gonna be a real dry year for the current Switch...
  14. I do generally agree with what you're saying @Julius, but unless Nintendo are planning on putting out another Partner Showcase in lieu of what would've been their usual E3 event in June, there won't be another major Switch event until at least September (and any such event will likely be focused on Switch 2 at that point, rather than the current model; as I'd expect Switch 2 to be launching in March 2025). Nintendo are basically done with the current Switch as far as major original first party games go now; which is why their February Direct was a Partner Showcase, rather than your usual mainline Nintendo Direct. And given that Switch 2 has been internally delayed from November 2024 to (probably) March 2025? That's likely pushed back any announcement/event plans that they had as well... hell, they've already pulled out of Gamescom 2024 likely for this very reason. So it's either Indie World or nothing as far as Nintendo related events go, and I doubt that they'd want to shackle up with Xbox in their own event. They could do their own announcement at SGF I suppose, but it'd probably get somewhat buried underneath Geoff Keighley's mountanous ego and his hard-on for AAAA explosion fests, so probably not the wisest choice of events either. The Triple III Initiative event was actually pretty dang good and would likely be their best shot outside of Indie World when they inevitably do their next event; as the last one was surprisingly successful and well recieved (136k views for their first ever event is pretty impressive and will likely only increase from there, given how much positive coverage it got afterwards; by comparison, the last Indie World scored around 836k views). But that probably won't be happening for a long time from now...
  15. Indie World is the biggest and highest profile regular indie event that we currently have (across all platforms). With E3 being gone, I can't see any better opportunity we have for an indie game announcement like a Silksong trailer/release date. Only thing potentially bigger than an Indie World is a proper mainline Nintendo Direct; and we're not due another one until September now. The Triple III initiative has promise if it carries on being as good as their inaugural event, but right now, Indie World is the best we have.
  16. Game's out now on the eShop. Let the slap fights begin!
  17. Yeah... it's time for Silksong. Personally I'm hoping to see Mina The Hollower here, as it's been 3,000 years, but nope; everyone else is just hyped for Silksong.
  18. Word of warning, apparantly the PC version of DR2/Off The Record does not support Xbox One/Series controllers. They will only support Xbox 360 controllers and nothing else from what I understand.
  19. Meme casting turned real. Honestly though? He'll be a good fit. Big get for Paramount!
  20. I'm shocked that Titus lasted as long as they did. They are exactly the kind of low quality shovelware developer/publisher that were usually killed off in the transition from the 16bit era to the world of 3D gaming, and yet somehow, they endured all the way from 1988 to 2005! Somehow these jokers even managed to buy up Interplay and took ownership of all of their IP until they became bankrupt in 2005, damn impressive!
  21. That’s really cool. I suspect that this “support” will just be remapping the controls to use the right stick for gameplay actions so that they map to the c-buttons when using the N64 controller and moving actions off of the non-existent X/Y buttons; rather than actual official support, as I don’t think Nintendo allows 3rd party Switch developers to actually target their specialist NSO or GCN controllers with matching button prompts, but still very cool to see
  22. Quest 64 is remarkable in just how unremarkable it is. Almost as if it's a parody of the genre really. As for ISS 98? It's a reletively minor refinement over the already excellent ISS 64, which means it's pretty excellent. That's not to say that there aren't some pretty significant additions though, such as the ability to curve your shot by holding down Z while inputing a direction for the curve, the ability to now adjust the height of your free kicks and corner shots by pressing up and down before you shoot, the ability to make broad formation changes mid-game and, best of all, keepy uppies! You can now perform keepy uppie moves by holding c-down while not moving. There's a bit more of an emphasis on player expression in general as well, with lovely (and pointless) little touches like being able to do dummy shots and little spin dribbles with your character by rotating the analog stick while running. The control is a bit smoother overall than ISS 64, but overall it plays very similarily. It's fast, fluid and fun! About the only real complaint I have with ISS 98 is that the commentator isn't nearly as fun as the one in ISS 64, that and the music isn't quite as good. But this is pretty much as good as arcade style football gets really. An absolute cracker
  23. Who would've thought that this little game would give us the greatest Nintendo leaker to ever live... He even looks shifty here already!
  24. Yo! Here's a video that I'm not watching! Wayforward just did (and by "just did", I mean did more than a week ago and I only just found out now), a stream showing the first 15 mins of the game! If you want to spoil the first 15 mins of the game for yourself, check a look!
  25. Sorry Cube, but if I’m quoting this line, it can only mean one thing… As it turns out, there is a way to get it officially… one way. And it’s a pretty ironic way at that… Piko Interactive currently hold the rights to the N64 and GBC versions of Wetrix (and presumably the other versions too), and they just so happen to have set up a deal with Krikzz (the creator of the Everdrive line of flash cartridges for various retro systems) and the Stone Age Gamer online shop… If you buy an Everdrive 64 flash cartridge from Stone Age Gamer, you get a free pack of N64 game ROMs licensed officially by Piko Interactive… and wouldn’t you know it! One of those games just so happens to be Wetrix! So, in a hilarious twist of irony, the only way to officially buy Wetrix on the N64, and not resort to either the second-hand market or piracy, is to buy a piracy device
