  1. Holy Lagging Hell!! These matches have been atrocious!
  2. Yo! @martinist! Get in my room! (I've already sent you the password via PM)
  3. Especially in this case where they really shouldn’t be having performance issues... At least it seems to run better when you have it installed to the Switch’s internal storage... ... so it seems to be a bug with the way the game handles data streaming; not actually a matter with the Switch’s CPU/GPU not being able to handle the game. Greezo probably shouldn’t have removed the screen transitions from the original game if their engine can’t handle data streaming properly... (come to think of it, that’s probably why they never attempted to remove the segregation of areas in any of their previous Zelda remakes...)
  4. I’m really disappointed to hear that the final version still seems to be suffering from performance issues... really bad that Nintendo are happy to release it in that state...
  5. Well Microsoft/Xbox are currently transitioning to become a services company. They are no longer attempting to compete in the same manner as both Nintendo and Sony. In that sense, they don't necessarily need to have the same level of exclusives as other platform holders anymore. They just need to provide better value.
  6. That was the last piece of info that came from the original leek; everything has been announced now. So anything from here on out is a surprise.
  7. My to-buy-list from now until the end of the year... It's a really healthy list, but I'm probably not gonna have time to play everything
  8. No clue. I think it's safe to say at this point that it's not gonna arrive this year though. Wayforward have been almost radio silent about this game as a whole really Well this isn't actually the first time that Wayforward have experimented with an episodic Shantae game... Risky's Revenge on DSiWare was originally going to be an episodic title, but somewhere along the way they decided to just make it into a single standalone release; so they've actually been wanting to do something like this for a while now. I suspect that the main reason why this game is happening to begin with though is because Apple are funding the game. It was originally announced alongside the Apple Arcade service and though it has never been exclusive, it has always been pushed as an Apple Arcade title first and foremost; so I'm betting that they have some sort of deal with Apple going on behind the scenes (which is also probably why they've been pretty quiet about the game as a whole so far).
  9. So this is odd... Looks like the game is being released in episodic form on Apple Arcade prior to its full Switch release? First part is out now and there's some gameplay footage floating about...
  10. That trailer tells me absolutely nothing about this game... which is all I need to know!
  11. First hit's free It's all about customer aquisition and retention for MS here. The price to entry may be cheap, but if they can convince people to stick around? Then they stand to not only make a lot of money, but also make a lot of steady and predictable money. In a heavily volatile industry? That is absolutely the holy grail for publishers.
  12. It's about what I'd expect. It might be a Switch exclusive published by Nintendo, but it is ultimately still an ultra niche mech combat game that is a spiritual successor to Armored Core.
  13. Astral Chain is much more akin to Nier Automata than Bayonetta. It’s more of an action adventure game than a pure Stylish Action title. It also runs like a dream in handheld mode. Full, native resolution 720p at an unwavering 30 FPS. Buy with confidence! Personally I wouldn’t bother with NNK at all, especially if you’re not a big fan of JRPGs. Outside of the pretty visuals and music? It is a very generic and dull RPG that absolutely bored me to tears when I played it on PS3.
  14. These new versions look like absolute yuck, but they are the first time we've ever gotten a console release of the first three games in the west since the original NES versions... (and the first console releases in Europe, period). With these re-releases, we now officially have proper localised versions of every single mainline DQ game (with the sole exception of DQ10; which is never happening for obvious reasons). So that's something to be happy about. Thankfully the DQ3 port at least fares better than the first two... but yeah... they've really beaten them with the ugly stick...
  15. Gears 5's UK sales are pretty interesting... https://www.resetera.com/threads/uk-gears-5-sold-a-quarter-of-gears-4-sales-boxed-sales-digital-and-gp-majority-by-far-bl3-biggest-box-launch-of-the-year-less-than-half-of-bl2.141317/ Apparantly Gears 5 sold just a mere 16k at retail in its opening weekend here in the UK... a massive drop compared to its predecessors... This is no doubt due to its inclusion in the Xbox Game Pass from day 1... it's amazing to see how huge an effect that Game Pass has already had on physical sales! It really is utterly profound! Makes you wonder what Microsoft plan to do with the upcoming Xbox Scarlett... Will they even bother with physical releases at all anymore? With Game Pass now seemingly being their main driver of software income... Could they even ditch standalone digital releases at full RRP in favour of having Game Pass as the sole driver of software revenue!?
  16. http://www.nintendolife.com/news/2019/09/prototype_wii_nunchuk_controller_included_a_rumble_motor_according_to_new_photos Well this is interesting... Looks like the Wii's Nunchuck controller was originally going to have rumble; and not just any rumble, but the rumble motor that was originally used in GBA rumble carts!
  17. https://japanesenintendo.com/2019/09/15/scramble-and-more-coming-to-switch/ OH SHIT!! IN THE HUNT IS COMING TO SWITCH!!! WOOHOO!!! I've always wanted to play this! It's basically the direct predecursor to Metal Slug! Also VS Balloon Fight! Which is a completely different game from the NES one!! Here's the list of hype that was announced for Arcade Archives...
  18. Well this is surprising... ... looks like this'll be the first ever Shantae game to not have a soundtrack done by Jake Kaufman...
  19. IN!!!!!
  20. Plenty of hilarity from tonight! And... oh God... As usual, Fresh Prince Night was amazing
  21. Yeah I tried it (only in handheld mind you). It’s butt ugly, but actually plays pretty well. It’s decidedly slower paced than Neo Contra, but I actually quite enjoyed the demo (I laughed when Kaiser threw the tank as well ). Was surprised to see that it seems to have been made by the same developer that worked on Dragon Quest 11! (Toylogic). Wasn’t expecting that! Seems like it’ll be worth a pick up when it goes on sale.
  22. LES GO!!!
  23. I can't wait for the GDQ run of this next year
  24. Looks utterly bonkers! GIMME IT NOW!!! (Also if the Wii Fit Trainer Amiibo does nothing, I will be tremendously dissapointed)
  25. Pretty desperate move from Level 5 there... That's gonna do next to nothing in Japan... ... also means that Nintendo will likely not be publishing it in the west now; so Level 5 will have to go it alone...
