Someone on Resetera actually made a really helpful beginner's guide in response to the release of 51WWG. That was a huge help; it might be worth a read if you fancy giving it a go. It's actually a lot of fun once you wrap your head around it (Which even 51WWG acknowledges in its description! I love how the game actually plays up how complicated it is to learn )

YES!!!!!!!!! I'VE FINALLY DONE IT!!!!!! I've finally figured out how to play Riichi Mahjong!!!!!!!!!

Before the leaks about Lockhart came about, that's exactly what I thought MS were going to do. Turn the XboneX into the low-end option that runs at 720p-1080p and keep all of their games compatible on both machines for the next 3-4 years. But it seems that they are indeed going to replace the XboneX itself with Lockhart. I still reckon it'd be a good idea. But who knows? Maybe they'll still be repurposing certain Xbone X parts to keep Lockhart's costs down, like the GPU and RAM? We already know that they have been harvesting UHD BD drives from the standard XboneS units (The All Digital model is literally an XboneS with the BD drive ripped out of it), so they're clearly already pulling this strategy to cut production costs of the Series X/XboneX as it is. Either way, I find their strategy as a whole really interesting. They're absolutely playing 5D Chess here with Sony But I'm really looking forward to finally seeing Sony show their hand (or at least some of it) tonight. Can't wait to see how they respond to what MS is cooking!

2006 was a long time ago. We live in a completely different world now; where people don’t even bat an eyelid at dropping £1,000+ on a smartphone. $599.99 is no longer the psychological barrier it once was. The worldwide economy (never even mind the British economy post-Brexit!) is also currently circling the drain; AND we have an unprecedented worldwide pandemic going on right now - meaning the production costs are rocketing upwards as well. There’s no way that they can possibly hit the same price points as with previous consoles, but perhaps they don’t even need to... Also, you know, people are used to buying expensive electronics on contract now and I fully expect Microsoft to take advantage of this by bundling the Series X/S hardware with Gamepass as a subscription (as for Sony? I don’t think they’re ready to take this step yet).

Just got it. It’s awesome!!! So brilliant to finally get a sequel to this long forgotten DS classic! Just unlocked the Club Nintendo Hanafuda card designs; badass! Never thought that they’d bring them back! My only real complaint so far is that the music is a bit lame so far. It lacks the energy and excitement of the original and is far too chill. Calling Koi Koi should be a HYPE moment, instead it’s a barely audible blip sadly. Otherwise it’s fantastic though! I’ve only really just scratched the surface so far and have a LOT more to try out, but I already love it! THIS is the kind of game I want to see on Switch!

I think if they targeted something like £399 then the spec would not be up to scratch (like that's how much it would cost without an SSD). Of course it wouldn't be. The moment they decided on having an SSD is the moment that £500 became the pricing floor. There was never a way that they could get around this. I've been saying this for almost half a year now! I am still anticipating the Series X to primarily be sold on contract to get around the inevitable eyewatering pricetag BTW...

That doesn’t look like a placeholder... That’s exactly the price I’m expecting for PS5. Series X will be even higher (Probably £699.99). Will be interesting how much Lockhart/Series S ends up being though...

So I've had a chance to have a bit of a play with it and I love it! So well put together! The interface is beautiful and full of charm, the controller is absolutely spot on, all the little touches, secrets and things they've done absolutely exhude love and care! (I absolutely love how you can access all of the hidden screens for putting the wrong system card in and all!), no obvious sound or input lag, and the emulation is spot on. The secret games are just an amazing effort, the new version of Fantasy Zone is SO much better than the original retail version! What a lovely little machine! However, I do have one complaint... The lack of Horizontal Interpolation in the 4:3 mode is very annoying. There's a very obvious shimmer effect and it's pissing me off. The most frustrating thing? The CRT filter actually DOES have Horizontal Interpolation, but there's no way to have it without the rubbish looking scanlines and blur! WHY!? You can, of course, turn on pixel perfect mode and that clears up the shimmer, but then everything is too skinny... Not ideal. It's a shame, because otherwise this package is basically perfect (outside of some unfortunate game omissions, like Gate of Thunder and The Legendary Axe). I can still roll with it though; it's just such a great package overall and well, WELL worth the money!

Something is dodgy about that SD Card. Switch just uses standard ExFAT formatting, so you should have something like 14.7GB free on that card. Check to see if there isn’t any porn or other junk hidden on that card.

And no, I won't accept vague empty promises of hopes and dreams with bullshit CGI teasers (They're totally gonna fill it with bullshit CGI teasers of literally fucking nothing - I'm looking at YOU Square-Enix and your inevitable bullshit FF16 CGI teaser with literally no gameplay!) GT7 should be here at least. No reason why they shouldn't have some actual real-time gameplay to show. Show me real, actual hardware; show me the UI running in real time; show me actual games with actual real-time gameplay that will actually be launching within the first year!

Surely not. There won’t be any tourism going on for the rest of the year anyway! I reckon they’ll delay it to coincide with the Tokyo Olympics next year. The park opening was always planned to coincide with the Olympics anyway (that was always their primary goal); might as well wait until next year now. The rest of the park will be ready by then too.

It has literally taken them longer to get this remaster out, than it took to make the original game from scratch in the first place. Modern Square-Enix everyone!
