There IS actually an option that does exactly what you’re suggesting here! You can have optional hints that guide you to the “good” items. Also yes, there is an option to mix the Dice Islands into the random item pool. It’s VERY customisable

Gimme that preorder now!

Looks really cool! I love the idea of having the real life RC Kart's actual driving actually react to what happens in the game! So bloody clever! I really don't have the space for this though lol.

Does anyone else feel that Mario's physics feel a bit weird in this game? Not bad or anything, but just kinda... off? It's definitely not like the original SMB at all, or any other Mario game really. He accelerates like an F-zero car here!
-
Really weird decision. I can only guess that it's something to do with the original actor demanding too much money for this re-release?
-
Well that was a waste of a perfectly good slot. Thanks!

Fun fact. Sumo Digital was founded by the same people who ran Gremlin Graphics! Though the UK development scene isn’t nearly as prolific today as it was back then, you can still see echoes that have survived till this very day

The next batch of Arcade Archives releases for Switch have just been announced... Gradius 3 is a big one, as the original arcade version has never seen an arcade perfect home release before! (The PSP Gradius Collection is the closest thing, but not quite perfect).

Come on Paper Mario my son!

Correct! (None of the bosses are defeated though, so you’ll still get something for beating them). The Pearls will also still trigger Fado and Makar’s respective appearances though IIRC, so they’re not totally useless! You can even set it so that you find Triforce pieces in random chests (or remove them from the game entirely). The Keysanity option is probably my favourite though. It shuffles all of the dungeon keys into the random item pool; meaning that you might find a Tower of the Gods small key in a random chest, or in the Windfall Island Auction House! Or you might win one in a mini game! Or in a Sea Treasure Chart find!

Pokemon Sword + Pokemon Sword Expansion Pass and Pokemon Shield + Pokemon Shield Expansion Pass is my favourite Pokemon game!

Even if you're only playing one game at a time, Quick Resume is still super useful! It's basically the same thing as the Suspend Save feature from the Virtual Console, except for every game that's playable on the machine! It's literally my favourite VC feature! It makes games SO much more accessible when you can stop & take a break at any moment and then come back to it later right where you left off, even after turning the power off!
-
It opens up the entire game world from the start. You're plonked onto a random island from the start, with access to the Sail and the King of Red Lions. All scripted sequences, that would otherwise impede your progress around the sea, up until the Tower of the Gods are considered to have been "completed"; so there's nothing to stop you from going wherever you want. From there? You can travel literally anywhere in the sea (that you can get to with no items apart from the Sail) and grab any items you can find (the randomiser always ensures that the game seed you are given is always beatable - unless you turn the safety settings off ) It works extremely well! Strongly recommend a play through!
-
Simple. It randomises the units you fight, their positions on the map, their stats, weapons etc. You can also have your own units randomised in the same way too! RPGs in general are a great candidate for randomisers; and Fire Emblem is no exception.

Dayhm!! Those are some NICE upgrades! And this is just brute forcing better performance with no use of the new, bespoke hardware for optimisation! Awesome!
-
I’m guessing it’s because there isn’t actually a Windows Store version of Doom Eternal available to just plonk up on Game Pass right now; so they need to make one first/port it from Steam.

Sunshine’s camera really leads to a lot of deaths in the no FLUDD sections because it does such a poor job of giving you a sense of depth. Playing the game again really makes me pine for a 3DS version, because the depth perception here is just so incredibly poor! I can’t tell how far away objects are from myself! So I keep ending up running off of platforms all the time! SM64’s camera is much much better than Sunshine’s (and Mario Galaxy is in a whole other league to both of them).
-
Man, Mario Sunshine feels awkward without a GCN controller. The FLUDD controls just feel wrong without the analog shoulder buttons... Also, whose bright idea was it to reverse the aiming controls and make them non-inverted with no option to change them back to the original inverted controls!? Shit is driving me completely batty! Playing this game with a standard button orientation really highlights how confusing the standard layout can be. I keep pressing the wrong button by mistake! You can really tell that SMS was built around the GCN controller. It just doesn’t feel right here. At least the game looks lovely. Really shines in HD!

Yup. Knew it. Knew that was the real reason. BG&E2 has been such a ridiculous mess of a project that none of this is surprising at all. Honestly? Ubisoft would be better off canning the whole thing. This new game has nothing to do with the original, and the original was a notorious commercial flop anyway.

Cool! The first Kirby Fighters game on 3DS was awesome! Praying for 60FPS here!

It’ll be an emulated version of this... Emuception!

I got a Samsung KS8000 TV a few years back and I’m sticking with it for the foreseeable future. Not too bothered about 120 FPS really. The picture looks great and the input lag is less than one frame. That’s all I really care about as far as TVs go

Oh hey! Nice little bonus for Amazon buyers
