Here's my new favourite one: application forms that include compulsory questions about employment history that take ages to fill in, then ask you for a C.V of employment and education history.
-
Those kind of questions make me want to die. Human resources shite, the lot of it.

I do what I can to keep this place going, you know. Seriously though- Weezer? The Blue and Pinkerton albums were great but that was a long, long time ago. All they've done since is moribund, uninspired crap.

The Dark Knight Rises (Spoilers inside, enter at own risk)

Awesome-o. JGL needs to be in everything -
That's actually a very good shout- fits the bill perfectly too. Yeah, everyone go watch Brick mmmkay?

Anything been announced in the land outside metal?

Page is too short. She's ace, but she's a midget. That guy playing Supes is fookin huge, so it'd look even sillier.

I've always felt that trying to work out what happens in a Lynch movie is kind of a fools errand and probably a bit besides the point.

Evening forum! Guess what I'm doing! I'll save you the trouble because it's so easy... Yep! Watching tv downloads, playing some games and trolling rez posting on here. and I'm bored. Massively, brain numbingly bored. I wasn't in doing this, I'd probably be either at the pub (yay for wasting money!) or playing Catan (Ok, that's awesome but besides the point) The point is that My Routine Is Killing Me and I need something to do. I was thinking I need something like a book group...but I'm not sure how to find one. Google has come up FAIL, as has Gumtree. Even if I did find any evidence of such a pastime in Sheffield, most book groups are more adult affairs and I'm not sure anyone in their mid twenties does that kind of thing. so there's that. I think this is quickly becoming a rant, but I need new stuff to do with my time, I need a way to find it. I need ideas, damn it. Come on internet!

I still don't like the use of the Unreal Engine but the first game was so bloody good that this remains pretty high on my list. It was about as close to perfect as any super hero game has ever come and that goes a long way in my book. Especially when it involves hip poppingly brutal martial arts as The Batman.

Ebay ftw, I believe.

Just got back from this. Absolutely loved it- blates an awesome film. Franco was just awesome in the lead. Considering that the camera barely leaves him for the duration, it's really quite an amazing performance. The dénouement was...well it was everything you'd expect for a film in which a man hacks his own arm off with a shit pen knife, so there's that. But that only feels like a very small part of a much large picture that captures the character of Aron perfectly and the psychological journey he goes on to reach that moment of sheer willpower. Brilliant. And yes, such a sexy film. Boyle sure knows how to use a camera. I think my favourite parts were how well he captured those flashes of memory and sensation like his ex running her finger over his chest. it was beautifully done.

I think my fave film about drugs remains A Scanner Darkly. It's really very, very clever. Perfect combination of narrative and visuals, fantastic casting (basically a bunch of Hollywood-ers known for their drug history) and a flawless grasp of drug use. I loves it. edit: and Fear and Loathing, obviously. Watching that stoned sent my mate in to a whitey, so mind out.

yeah. should be out in summer.

No... I just 'happened' to be caught in that awkward 'stance'

Oohh, nice title! very good. Happy birthday! -
I'm currently re-watching Band of Brothers for the first time in years. It's absolutely remarkable. Probably one of the most powerful shows I've ever seen in its sheer emotional heft. The Bastogne episode that focus' on Eugene in the battle of the bulge is just...fantastic, one of the best hours of television ever filmed, I'd say. It conveys so much about the nature of the war and the men who fought it that it leaves you completely raw. Brilliant.

It's only 10:30 and I'm already suited up. Yes.

You're ignoring the fact that UK common law is formed on precedent, though. If this works then it sets a standard to which future cases will be held. That's why it's important.

I have a pretty generic northern accent- comes with the territory for me as everyone in my hood has it too. And by hood, I mean middle class public sector enclave. To be honest, I'm thankful I don't have a stronger Sheffield accent because it can be horrible- it's like a much, much harsher and sharper Barnsley accent without the warmth. Done right = Jarvis Cocker. Done wrong = pikey fuckholes in the job centre. Agreed with the above on hawt Irish accents too, fyi. Scottish does it for me too.

Actually, I do care. I care that this country is supposed to be run by a government with principals, not one which knowingly deports people who will be tortured and executed on arrival to the country from which they've fled, fearing for their lives with good reason. This isn't about sexuality, it's not about her and it's certainly not about me. It's about us, as a society, standing for something better and demanding it. TLDR: Keep your presumptuous shit to yourself

The best thing is that the guy doing these has a really strong grasp of narrative and structure. He knows his good cinema too, and that knowledge applied to Star Wars leads to much hilarity. Also, I'm reminded at just how good The Empire Strikes Back is. I can take or leave most of Star Wars but that movie is awesome.
