  1. This is a better article on Guardians Happy to see the series. Definitely picking it up. Interesting quote I like this. I reckon we'll see a bit of a JLA vibe there- a much bigger group than, comparably, The Avengers.
  2. Fo reelz? Shorty is round the corner, too.
  3. Interesting: Now, I live on a private road (It's absolutely not as cool as it sounds) so Google didn't come down our way to take photos. However, we're on a cross junction so the car took a snap as it went past, capturing most of the road as it went by anyway. Kind of renders the whole 'don't do that road' bit pointless and faintly disappointing. However, they also got a shot of the builder who went on to rebuild my path a few months later with his cool dog getting out the van. Dog win. edit linkage.
  4. Urgh. 3 different control set ups and no option to switch the sticks to southpaw. Bleh.
  5. I like how this food is so unnatural that it's rejected by the forces of mother earth itself in to some kind of cursed purgatory. Remarkable.
  6. Shacknews have posted the first details of the Halo: Reach online system, and an interview detailing the new 'arena' mode. It sounds fantastic. Genuine progression from Halo 3, and a concentrated effort to deal with the problems in the Halo community that have damaged Halo 3 so severely over time. This game really looks like it'll keep me playing for as long as the 360 is going...
  7. Siege and DA were both aces this week. So far, all my theories are proving wrong, though. D'oh.
  8. Facebook urged to include 'Panic Button' to report pedophiles. I appreciate the sentiment but, really, this will be the most abused feature on any website of all time. Anyone who's ever been involved in either side of a 'frape' will know how quickly law and order breaks down when you can influence other peoples profiles.
  9. That better be a spoof. The Guardians don't need fucking Spawn- officially the worst character of all time not called Carnage.
  10. hahahaaha that's amazing.
  11. Fuckin...yeah. Oh yeah.
  12. Has anyone ever heard the actionbutton.net podcast review of FFVII ? It's one of the best hatchet jobs I've ever heard- all delivered in a faux Patrick Bateman voice ala his review of Huey Lewis and The News. I looked for it online but to no avail so far. a shame- it's gold.
  13. I'm not gonna lie...I'm quite impressed by that. If anyone can deliver the goods on the franchise it's probably him, so there's that. Also, going back to the series' roots and playing to it's strengths for once should be a good shout.
  14. Hallo, internetz.
  15. Generation Kill is amazing as is this, which is handy. I spent almost the entire first episode gripped by cold, adrenaline soaked dread when they were in the jungle. The build up was absolutely incredible stuff. I like how they spent so little time getting them in to action, too- almost like the war exists in isolation from life and reality. What they did show of civilian life was great, too. The hope and bravado of what they said was perfectly pitched against the mute reaction to their own actions later in the episode, forming a perfect narrative arc that sets up the rest of the series brilliantly. And needless to say, the production values are off the chart. It looks better than most movies, and the prospect of 9 more hours of such quality television is a real treat.
  16. That sounds...pleasantly weird. Hopefully it's absolutely nothing like Heroes though.
  17. I'm late / oops. happy birthday all the same. :p
  18. So the latest flurry of my life is over, or something. Intense week: I went to London on Tuesday and went to visit some magazine publishers etc. First up was IPC Media- publishers of a raft of Women's weekly....tripe, frankly. A disturbingly low common denominator is formed in your mind when you read their portfolio. They also do Nuts, NME, Uncut and a bunch of magazines for the disgustingly rich though, so I guess it evens out a bit. Kinda want to work for them as their building is astonishingly great. I'd feel good about life if I was a janitor there. Wednesday was fraught with sleep deprivation, following some bullshit Tuesday night. Went to parliament for a tour, PMQ and a talk from notable prestigious people, which was excellent, particularly the latter item. Thursday we went to Future, which was immense. I love their portfolio, their style, their approach...everything. Want to work there. Will accept payment in basic rations and survival sustenance if need be. Want. Friday was a day of rest / Mass Effect 2. I also had a pretty productive meeting with my peers about a magazine we're making soon. I feel the build up of ego and confrontation like the smell of the air before a storm already. It's going to be magnificent, caffeine drenched melodrama. Yes. Saturday and Sunday I went to Leeds for drinkin and partyin with uni buddies. Great fun, but reminded me of the things I got sick of in 3rd year too. It's crossed my mind that many of my uni friendships are based on...circumstance and chance rather than any deep bonds. It's an odd sensation being friends with people I often find basically alienating. and so much to do this week. I'm constantly bouncing between little lulls in activity and intense periods of mania. Problem is, I'm so time inefficient that any free time I have I end up squandering on my own fickle amusements and distractions instead of forging ahead with anything meaningful or useful to me or anyone else. Time to end this post before I turn wildly introspective. This shit should be dealt with in the small hours.
  19. YES! I presume you've all seen that Osborn's Enforcer has been shown?
  20. I need to do an application for a work placement at Chat. May God have mercy on my soul.
  21. Noted. So I went to London... ....visited Westminister... ...and fell asleep during PMQ. worst night's sleep ever, thanks to my cunt room mate in the hostel who snored like a wounded hippo. Trip was legendary though. Saw Gordy B, got in Charles Kennedy's way and had a talk from Blunket. Visited two major magazine companies too- I need a job with Future for realz
