ok, technically true but 'sorting my shit' definitely is. -
It's the best station on the waves. Absolutely amazing stuff. Sunday: Huey Morgan (yes, that Huey) followed by Jarvis 'fucking' Cocker. The mind and the universe buckle under the weight of their presence. The depth of their knowledge and skill is really quite something, and makes weekend listening essential.

Fuckin A. Millar is great fun to read. Not the most subtle guy but he's wickedly entertaining.

It should really be Marvel Knights or The Defenders. I do like that Avengers has been re-shaped in to a fully stocked 'house' like X-Men though. And personally, I find it a much more compelling one.

yeah me too. It's pretty bankable IP though. There's an Avengers book 'missing' so far too. 4 books got canceled and only 3 have taken their place. Rumor has it that Gage will move from Avengers: The Initiative to a new book, Avengers Academy. Same idea but needs re-branding because The Initiative is clearly about to be shut down.

Honestly, I'd prefer Spider-Man as a 'full' Avenger. Although Spider-Man and Cage are a cute couple.

Ok turns out my postie 'hid' my Kick-Ass package in the waste paper bin. Totally missed the note untill my dad had already put the bin out for collection. Yikes. Anyway! the collectors ed. fancy name for a hardback. There's no real back material to speak of, although they do include all the variant covers (including the ensemble 1-6 ones) which is cool, and an excellent splash page of 'Kick-Ass' greatest hits' which is a montage of brutal close ups of bloodied noses, broken limbs, gunshot wounds and so on from the series. It's genius. Other than that, it's just a really nice trade. Production values are sky high, the paper is lovely and the dust cover is a treat. The only downside is the rubber stamp 'now a major motion picture' on the dress. Oh and Foreword from Rob Liefield. presumably written while wearing a cap backwards.

I finished YA 1-7 last night. I like how they're doing the gay thing. The fact that it's just character flavor is pretty solid writing if you ask me- after all, a gay relationship is, and should be portrayed as such, unexceptional. There's an argument for them going further though- Clint and Bobbi have been seen waking up in bed together, for example. I assume conservative markets have something to do with that. Clever set up, too. I like how they're really quite shit at being heroes. Am I right in thinking that the series isn't doing anything now? I'd like to see the kids 'graduate' to Avengers status- especially Wiccan and Hulkling, who don't really have any comparable counterparts on the team right now. (Unless Strange or Drumm make the team soon)

I think it'll be a meta-threat thing. Seeing as one Reaper almost killed *everyone* and we saw thousands (at least), I don't think battling them head on will be a thing. My guess is some kind of quest to put together an effective defense based on Collector technology or other stuff on the other side of Omega- 4. They'll turn up, obviously, but I don't think they'll be much more than a force we see indirectly.

Correct. They're a really cool set of characters (possibly) but they're in the 'marvel jrs' sub set like New Mutants in the X books. They're there for younger readers to relate to. I'll take Tony, thanks.

exactly. It's all pretty messed up. in other news: I just read Irredeemable #11. I know some of you don't believe me but this issue cements it in my mind as the single most interesting and engaging series going on right now. It's genuinely disturbing, evocative stuff. Great mystery at the heart of it, too. Absolutely brilliant.

New Avengers is quality as fuck this month. Ending is weird though. It's part the ending from #60 and part the ending from Siege #1 and part...neither. It also clashes with the back pages of Siege #2. Bendis has completely pooched the continuity, which really shouldn't be hard. Fortunately, it's a really good scene anyway. Cannot freakin wait for the rest of this series it's going to end on a hell of a high point.
