Personally, I'm in to...constrained freedom: Something where you're given choice in the small details and how you tackle a situation but the actual situation itself is tightly controlled. DMC or Bayonetta are particularly good examples. Super Metroid involves considerably more pacing than you might think at first and good old Halo remains the best example I can think of. on Tsavo Highway, for example, I'm always going to run in to say 5 brutes, a ghost and 7 grunts at the same spot every time but I might change the weapons I'm carrying or how many grenades I saved from the last battle. Maybe I rescued more Marines for backup than before. Variables inside that structure give me choice and flexability to make the actual playing of the game the thing that changes without sacrificing direction, pacing and level design.

Yeah I think it is. It's really active now, so they re-arranged a few things to keep it quiet I guess. Good threads there for a lot of hit series' you should def check out. The Sword and Green Lantern being two great ones on page 1 I'm Yossarian on there, FYI.

He's definitely a Secret Avenger It'd be too easy though. He's probably one of the most distinctive characters, physically, in the whole MU. It's not like....Cyclops or someone like that who's just a guy in a blue condom :p

Guy is a bit of an unknown to me but....well that means fuck all. 99% of the cast of all my favorites are unknowns to me, and even when they are known, I've found their past performances to be totally irrelevant to what they do now. I just started reading The Sword. Hooooooooooly shit, it's awesome. Nobody told me it was so good* *Technically not true. Rez did, but I make it my business to not listen to Rez about anything. oh harro! I was right. Booya.

World's first human / RSS feed hybrid celebrates 26th anniversary
Dan_Dare replied to Dan_Dare's topic in General Chit Chat
I honestly didn't notice that. Oh dear. -
Scientists have reported that the first experimental hybrid between human physiology and a computerised system based on popular 'RSS feed' technology has continued to operate for another consecutive year. Codenamed 'Dante', the unique individual is frequently seen posting 'useful' information and/ or skanky bitches on popular internet forum http://www.n-europe.com/forum. Although the experiment has been named an 'unrivaled' success by silicone valley researchers, prominent members of the team have expressed regrets in design choices that lead to an uncanny resemblance to actor Robert Patrick, best known for his role as the killer shapeshifting cyborg assassin the T-1000 in James Cameron's 1993 science fiction thriller Terminator 2: 'Judgment Day ' Happy Birthday to You", also known more simply as "Happy Birthday", is a song that is traditionally sung to celebrate the anniversary of a person's birth. According to the 1998 Guinness Book of World Records, "Happy Birthday to You" is the most recognized song in the English language, followed by "For He's a Jolly Good Fellow" and "Auld Lang Syne".[1] The song's base lyrics have been translated into at least 18 languages.[2], p. 17 The melody of "Happy Birthday to You" comes from the song "Good Morning to All", which was written and composed by American sisters Patty Hill and Mildred J. Hill in 1893.[3] They were both kindergarten school teachers in Louisville, Kentucky, developing various teaching methods at what is now the Little Loomhouse.[2][4], pp. 4–15 The sisters created "Good Morning to All" as a song that would be easy to sing by young children.[2], p. 14 The combination of melody and lyrics in "Happy Birthday to You" first appeared in print in 1912, and probably existed even earlier.[2], pp. 31–32 None of these early appearances included credits or copyright notices. The Summy Company registered for copyright in 1935, crediting authors Preston Ware Orem and Mrs. R.R. Forman. In 1990, Warner Chappell purchased the company owning the copyright for U.S. $15 million, with the value of "Happy Birthday" estimated at U.S. $5 million.[5] Based on the 1935 copyright registration, Warner claims that U.S. copyright will not expire until 2030, and that unauthorized public performances of the song are technically illegal unless royalties are paid to it. In one specific instance in February 2010, these royalties were said[6] to amount to $700. In European Union (EU) countries the copyright in the song will expire December 31, 2016.[7] The actual U.S. copyright status of "Happy Birthday to You" began to draw more attention with the passage of the Copyright Term Extension Act in 1998. When the U.S. Supreme Court upheld the Act in Eldred v. Ashcroft in 2003, Associate Justice Stephen Breyer specifically mentioned "Happy Birthday to You" in his dissenting opinion.[8] An American law professor who heavily researched the song has expressed strong doubts that it is still under copyright.[2]

That's ridiculous. Absolutely farcical assertion.

I'm not sure about the Lib Dems. It just seems too hard to pin them down on...anything, really. I don't trust that. They also back far stronger cuts than the other parties which is pretty bad news as the public sector is going to get shafted for the mistakes made by the private sector suits who look like they'll walk away from the train wreck they've caused without a scratch.

Breaking Bad Seriously: This show is bad for my mental and emotional well being. The sheer stress and awfulness of every fraught personal encounter is just savage. Silence, like concrete, weighs down on me while I watch balled up in the corner.- 3920 replies

HL2 has practically no AI. Everything is scripted smoke and mirrors. Perfectly fit for purpose, mind. It's a thrilling game. One of the best. But Halo is on a completely different level. The AI is absolutely incredible in all 4 games and has allowed Bungie to develop a proper sandbox approach to combat that, to date, nobody else has even come close to.
