    Quantum of Solace Not seen this before. A lot of people complained when it came out that the plot sucked etc but I disagree. It's lean, sure, and relies massively on having seen Casino Royale but fuck it: my memory is good and sparse plotting never stopped me enjoying films before. Wouldn't have minded a little more exposition on the whole Quantum thing but it still worked. Daniel Craig continues to be the best Bond ever. He really does come across as a terrible bastard in this film- but for all the right reasons, and convincingly enough so that you still root for him throughout. And the action! Holy shit! It's absolutely shitting incredible. Every action sequence is spectacular, refreshingly shot and directed and relentlessly thrilling. Even if the ghost of Bourne films past hangs over them a little, it's hardly a bad thing. Really good film

    Seeing Chew Lips on Monday on behalf of the student rag. Not a band I'm totally sold on. Tiggs is an incredible vocalist- easily of the best new singers this year- but her band don't make music half as gripping. Should be interesting to see how they come across on stage.

    Back to low budget Marvel....hmm Luke Cage could work. You don't need a great deal of money involved to tackle his decidedly un-flashy brand of super heroics. He wears no costume, has a very mundane power and traditionally spends most of his time fighting gangsters and such rather than costumed badshits. I can see a Heroes for Hire movie working out easily without massive cash reserves. Dr Strange, on the other hand....eurgh. No. You can't do an inter-dimensional adventure with the master of the mystic arts on a shoe string. No way. It'll be shit.

    It is rather awesome. I, too, don't care a great deal for The Man of Steel but ASSM is a quality read. Morrison just nails that silver age feel of 'anything is possible' which perfectly suits the man who can do anything. You should read Red Son. I think you'd really dig it. Siege: Spider-Man is good. Not as good as Young Avengers or Loki but it's a nice grudge match issue + a little bit of character development with Ms Marvel. Felt a little...temporary, like nothing of great consequence happens but whatever. Good read. All the one shots have been good except Captain America, which was basically a reader's digest of Bucky Cap so far re: hero issues. Boring, retrodden and nowhere near as good as the Who Will Wield The Shield? one shot after Reborn. Ass issue oh and the trade release of Siege is taking shape. The main issues are getting a trade, with the one shots and the 'embedded' series getting separate books. Kind of fail. They should have put embedded in and made it an 8 issue trade. Tight bastards. Probably going to buy it though- I haven't got the singles and I want a copy of the event.
