I decided to double dip and pick this up for Wii U last night as its on sale and I like off Tv play. Did anyone else buy it through the eshop sale?

I managed to get online last night and buy Ducktales Remastered which downloaded without a hitch. There seemed to be issue with that game downloading its patch though, it was downloading very slowly and kept failing over and over. But at least it lets you play the game without having to wait for the patch to install so it wasnt really an issue.

Yeah and Valve has the excuse that they gave away Left 4 dead 2 for free which caused Steam to take a hammering along with its big Xmas sale, and they still managed to fix it by the end of the night.

Just in case anyone missed it from the Nintendo Direct

The start of that Smash brothers trailer confused me at first, I thought it was revealing Kirby would be in Mario Kart 8 I enjoyed the Direct but I wouldn't really say any "bombs where dropped" here. Mario Kart 8's new tracks look very nice, I especially like the airport stage they showed off. The NES Remix stuff looked great to me, I'll almost certainly get those. Other then that, more Donkey Kong and the smash brothers reveal were all I was interested in. Now i must ransack all of my Nintendo games and see if I can get 7000 points to get that Luigi's mansion diorama lol.

I lvoe that this is being released through steam now. I Shall try and play this tonight.

I think overall with those eras, the preference is understandable because Nintendo had never really made a good effort in the UK when it came to promoting their consoles or games. But all that said, the Wii, DS and now 3DS have all shown that there are a lot more people in the UK that prefer Nintendo games and consoles so I'm not sure that what happened 15-20 years ago can be blamed on whats happening with the Wii U.

But no where near as low as the Wii U has been doing. I mean I'm just saying I don't quite buy the idea that the uk hate Nintendo especially when these same people had no problem buying the Wii, DS and 3DS. A lot of gamers in the UK own Nintendo consoles but haven't bought the Wii U and I don't think its simply a case of they just hate the company, I think they just are not impressed enough with the console to think its worth buying.

I was under the impression that Nintendo had been doing very well in the UK for nearly a decade with the DS and Wii and its only the Wii U that has seen these awful sales for Hardware and Software?

I dunno, I thought No Man's Sky looked very nice. But yeah, overall it was a strange show.

Whaaaat!? This is News to me!

Well whatever he announces, at least Nintendo will have some kind of presence at the show. Last year they didn't have any, which was very surprising considering they had just launched a new console.

My favourite level so far is Hands-On Hall, the Japanese dojo style level.

Yeah this is very important to remember. Before the Wii went on sale, Iwata said that if the Wii didn't out sell the Gamecube then he would see it as a failure. That was about the Wii, so I can't imagine Nintendo will be pleased with the Wii U's current sales in the slightest.

I'm surprised to see Adventure time so high on that list.

I don't think the Wii U is dead yet, I want to see what Mario 3D world does first along with the marketing push before I would fully declare it over. And then there's Mario Kart too. But yeah, i never subscribed to the idea that consumers would not buy the PS4 or Xbox One, and that those consoles would get sale numbers like the Wii U.

That really is insane.
