I spent too long trying to decide if I should get the limited edition or normal version of this game. I chose just to get the normal version, since that Blue Shell statue doesn't really seem worth an extra £20. Knowing my luck, we'll find out its secretly a NFC toy that unlocks a bunch of cool stuff lol

I had a listen to that podcast this morning after reading this post. It was really interesting what he said about working with Nintendo back then. I remember the 'Iwata asks' Mario Kart Wii and Hideki Konno expressed some frustration at how Mario Kart DS's online had turned out in that game. I guess this could have been what he was talking about. Here's a link to it, it anyone else wants a listen. Nintendo voice chat

I think Nintendo are the ones at fault there personally.

I managed to find my sisters Wii and borrowed that to play MKWii online tonight/last night. I played for a good 4 hours and had a total blast. It was awesome to be able to play it tonight and have as much fun as I did a good SIX years ago. Its sad the game's online mode won't be there anymore though, I can't tell you how much fun I've had playing online mode since the games release in 2008, my old Wii had clocked over 400 hours on it, and my replacement Wii had another 300 hours on top of that. From what I hear, Nintendo's online service will shut down today at 7am Pacific time, which is around 3pm GMT so I might still be able to get a few more games in later on. So, so long Mario Kart Wii, thanks for the memories! Audio

Having two players on the gamepad is almost completely useless. The only way it would be of any use, is if both players were using Pro controllers and the TV was being used by someone else so they had to use the gamepad as their main screen. I'm genuinely confused why an obvious feature like having each player have their own screen, wasn't included to the game. The gamepad clearly can do it. I would have thought pushing two screens onto the gamepad would be taking up more power then just one. Also, Sonic Racing Transformed actually has each player having their own screen.

Seems to be the announcement of a US limited edition version of the game, exclusive to the Nintendoworld store in New york It looks like its just the same as the EU limited edition (Mario Kart plus Blue shell trophy).

General Gaming Sales/Charts Discussion
Helmsly replied to Hero-of-Time's topic in General Gaming Discussion
With the NFC stuff, i like that a single figure will be used for several games. It should be interesting to see what they do with it. -
GameXplain have made a couple of track comparison videos:

I can't thank you enough for posting this. I don't have the WWE Network so I've not been able to see it all this time. Just as you said, the last 15 minutes is very sad. You can see with Vince, he only really realised how much Warrior saw him like a father figure at the end and just as he found that out, Warrior passed away.

yeah I'm not a fan of what I've seen of the roster. I want Birdo, Diddy Kong and Bowser JR back...hopefully they'll be secret characters. I remember when MKWii first came out, it broke its release date near me and I had the game from mid April or something. At that time most people hadn't found all of the secret characters yet, so when you suddenly saw Funky Kong racing in an online game, it was a total surprise just to see that character because you would never have guessed he would be in a Mario Kart game.
