  1. Can anyone here explain section 9 of Kant's Critique of Aesthetic Judgment ("Investigation of the question of relative priority in a judgment of taste of the feeling of pleasure and the estimating of the object")? It is incomprehensible to me, and I feel retarded and shitty.
  2. Wipeout 2048 finally arrived in the mail today. Played a good 4-5 hours thus far and my god, it's incredible. The tightness, and more futuristic trappings of HD/Fury are replaced with wider, more combat focused maps, and it gives it a pretty different feel. Can't stop playing.
  3. This is so weird. Two glasses of wine and I'm babbling along to the sound of Atlantic City. WHY AM I DRUNK?
  4. This is so wahjah. So a guy dresses up as Ariel. For fucks sake. Be cool.
  5. Ah well, fair enough, I suppose there's always the PSone and PSP rosters to fall back on. As for the JRPG thing; yeah I was just looking for some comfortable and familiar nostalgia rather than wanting to try something new. I think I'll look into Tactics Ogre anyway, seems like my sort of thing.
  6. Disgaea isn't the same though; everything other than the tactical aspects are just ancilliary trappings. I just want a really cheesy Japanese story full of androgeny, big swords and poofy hair, and a battle system that's actually engaging. I'm in the mood. Is there much chance they're going to be available on Vita? (I assume not, considering the Vita has fewer buttons)
  7. Hahahahaha. Anyway, I'm getting this weird itch to play a JRPG (preferrably FFXII). It's like the urge I get every few months to binge on Doritos and Cake and Pepsi and then throw up everywhere, but I can't be bothered boot up my PS2 and deal with SD graphics. The PSN would really benefit from an equivalent of Xbox Originals, where they just put that shit up for digital download.

I remember watching Daft play this as I was trying to stave off passing out, drunk beyond description. I also remember not grasping the gist of what you were supposed to be doing in it at all.
  9. For someone aquainted with the Choze's compulsive need to rationalise any Sony fuck ups, how could blind fanboyism be beyond you?
  10. MMOs are for chumps.
  11. This also looks like a fun entry point: Code Hero
  12. That looks like the sort of thing that could function as a good introduction, yeah. I've got nothing else to do, so I'm gonna give it a shot.
  13. The last half hour has been me playing chicken with the "purchase" icon on God of War: Chains of Olympus. It would be a total no brainer if it was £5 cheaper.
  14. Well, just created a US account, thanks for the hot tip Sheikah, now to wait patiently and stoke my game boner for Vita compatability.
  15. To be fair, it's the sequel to my favourite game, and I've played it before on the PSone. Just not for a very very long time. Hell, I can still play Radical Dreamers on guitar after all these years. Also; I don't have a PS3, just a Vita I'm afraid. I would absolutely love a portable version of that game. Just pop it out anywhere and lose myself in nostalgia.
  16. The problem with games posing as "Art" is that they're inevitably designed by either programmers or hipsters, and end up as a pathetically pretentious jumble of metaphors, or just plain trite.
  17. Yes, but that's Kotaku. They're the worst source you could possibly go to for gaming criticism outside of IGN. EDGE gave it an 8. I'm willing to give it a swing at some point.
  18. Chill the fuck out. I'm on it.
  19. Considering my egregious self neglect over the last few months, I don't think I can say with good conscience that my weight is the result of huge muscle mass You're proabably significantly stronger/ fitter than me at the moment, and your weight is pretty much where I'd like to be if I got my body fat down to around 8%. Shouldn't take that long though, once I get into the rhythm, I'm dedicated. The worst part about starting to exercise after a long haitus is the ridiculous amounts of pain you experience the day after a workout. Seeing as that's pretty much over with though, I'm game to get fuggin' sexy as shit again.
  20. Shit. I'm 5'11. Definitely a little chubby.
  21. Yeah I was pretty enthralled when this was featured in EDGE a couple months back. I would love to learn a programming language, but it seems impenetrable, proabably because I associate it with mathematical proficiency. What would be a good entry point, and how would I go about it, is the main issue.
  22. True, but from podcasts I've listened to over the years I've gathered that it's the equivalent of a foot in the door. There have been a couple of instances with, for example, Irrational Games taking on a couple of their QA staff as level designers.
  23. When I said "a lot," I meant "a few," and by that I mean, not many =p.
  24. How tall are you guys? I'm beginning to feel a bit overweight
  25. Yeah, I'm just lazy as fuck, so I spend most of my time min/maxing with the approach nerds take to stat based RPGs I need to work on losing the fat that's accumulated from a year of playing videogames and eating snack food. 12st 2 at the moment. My ideal weight is 11st 9. Will get there soon.
