The new anime and manga thread! [Use Spoiler Tags!]
The Bard replied to Shorty's topic in General Chit Chat
Yeah I bought all the volumes immediately and then er...accessed the rest online. Have you gotten up to the El Dorado arc? Madhouse are doing the next season as well, and considering how the story progresses, it'll be just as good if not better than the first. Very few times I've read a manga that's been so consistent in quality. It's been on hiatus for a month now though. Guess the author's living that Frieren lifestyle :p. -
Yeah it does. I hope it's more than just one new monster and some layered armour though. Guess the game came out less than a month ago though so it'll probably be a while before a more generously sized content drop.

You didn't get to be on the receiving end of her wr3,2 in early season 1, so you don't understand the horror :p. The goofy stuff is always great. I've mained Heihachi since T3, and I'm so bummed out that they removed his bb3+4 run just because it was such a hilarious move to grief with. City of the Wolves is literally a miracle. I never expected a follow up to Gorou, but here we are. Fighting games are so back.

Anyone fancy some coop hunts this weekend? It's been ages since I played games with anyone from N-E!

I spend some time drawing and making digital art here and there. Been working on art for one of my arcade sticks recently, just been a bit too busy to actually finish it: Also, brush pen sketch I did of the Dancer of the Boreal Valley from Dark Souls 3

Ayy, fighting game player. You still playing T8? Also how can you say Azucena is the best newcomer when Reina exists? Cmaaan.

Someone's probably already dropped this in here, but honestly any given version of this tune is elite.

Evil Overlords Were Not Born, They Were FORGED!

Well, I did accost you at your workplace and got you to daydrink with me. Otherwise Drapers might have had something going on. -
You never pulled up man.

I remember you at the 2009 meetup. I think most of the time was spent laughing at a certain individual who decided to bring their significant other along. I miss being a mean cunt. Jayseven was also there, as was usual in the early days. He's always a delight. The very first meet in 2008 when we all stayed at a shady hostel and spent most of our time getting drunk and climbing trees was the highlight of that summer. I can't even remember the usernames (or real names) of two of the people who were there with us. They've been MIA for about fifteen years.

I've got a good episodic memory, but I thought the Bengali kid was from a different night out. Remember that one time you came out with me and my mates, and Richard snorted peri peri salt? Absolute buffoonery. Come to think of it, a lot of the times I've seen you in the wild, it's been at a Nandos, which is weird considering you're vegetarian. -

Necro. I remember this night. I miss getting hit on in gay bars. -
Been "here" since 2005 but for some reason it lists me as a newbie. The fucking gall. Anyway, I'm back; returned from the realm of real life to spread chaos and unnecessarily idiosyncratic verbiage around as though I have two essay writing degrees that I use for literally nothing. Oh yeah, I used to type in red. I think that might have been my defining trait apart from stirring up shit for my own amusement. I am now too bored and old to press ctrl+a and choose red from the drop down though. Who else of note is still around apart from good ol' Gash? Edit: Anyone remember the good old bad days when we used to meet at Hyde Park once a year and get off our gourd on cheap cider? Give me something back from the young days. Preferably my BMI.

Obligatory "manga was better" post, but fr fr, Yu Yu Hakusho is one of the greats. Anyone here watched Frieren? Unironically one of the most beautiful (both visually and thematically) pieces of media I've seen for the last couple of years. Between that and Apothecary Diaries, we've been getting some wonderfully written female protagonists recently. -
I have panic disorder! Which essentially means I'm afraid of being afraid. I'm also extremely phobic of tight spaces, to the point where I can abstract it and get scared of conceptual things like the thought of electrons being trapped in a circuit. That's been getting better though with some cognitive behaviour therapy. Also I have a variant of what's called Alice in Wonderland syndrome, but localised to haptic feedback. Sometimes I wake up in the middle of the night and my fingers feel extremely small or inordinately large, and it's sort of a thing that happens in the borderlands between sleep and wakefulness. Also miniature representations of things that would be larger in real life make my palms sweat profusely, and trigger a mild adrenal reaction, and thus naturally, I was terrified when I first saw your cock.

Chrono Trigger is a perfect, self contained game. I'll take a concert, some events or a "making of" video etc. Don't particularly care for a sequel from S-E though. Especially when there are games like Sea of Stars, Threads of Time and other Noun preposition Noun games. Studios have taken up that baton and are running with it. But I don't think anything is ever going to match up to CT.

Yeah stamina surge is pretty much essential if you're running daggers or bow especially. I can't run charge blade without handicraft either because for some reason sharpness goes down so fast on that weapon. The other set I'm running apart from Guardian Arkveld is 2 piece G. Odogaron, 2 piece normal Arkveld, and Gore Magala greaves. Great mix of WEX and Surge, probably the two most useful dps attributes in the game right now until they release master rank armour sets with more deco slots. I can't get over how much they've improved glaive though. It was already my favourite weapon but rising slash + full kinsect extract gain from destroying wounds is just so fun.

Yeah as said above, I've no idea why there can't be some sort of seamless coop, apart from maybe some difficulty in synchronising story progress between multiple accounts. But even outside that in party link, it's unnecessarily cumbersome bring kicked back into your own instance, instead of just being able to go on successive hunts or investigations with your teammates. Either way, I've spent like 90 hours in the game already. Maxed out G.Ark armour and level 8 Artian weapons. Any other glaive players here? What are your builds looking like? I've been trying out the flayer skill and it seems like it isn't working properly. Temporary build while I'm trying out different decos: https://imgur.com/IFru09K

The thing is, for moves that act as high/low crushes, specifically in that trailer the u/f+3 that low crushed, as well as moves that result in crumple stun, usually you want your timing to be perfect to get a follow up. If they apply it to crush moves, then that brings a problem in that a lot of crush moves are launchers, and you want to get an optimal combo afterwards. I'm fairly sure that mid match slow-mo isn't going to be a thing, Tekken's thrived on the back of its competitive scene recently, and they aren't going to add anything that affects the flow of a match to that extent. If they do they'd have to tune it to moves that specifically have no follow up, because otherwise it would be annoying as hell. Also, there's no way they're nerfing electrics, they're the hardest launcher to pull off in the game. I guess maybe except taunt jet upper, but that's two moves, not one. I mean, being able to evade a 15 frame move when you're in negative frames...that's not fair (As you can tell, I'm a Mishima player XD). To be honest, they are very in tune with their community, and I have a good level of faith that they'll pull off another excellent game. My only real wish is that they un-nerf sidestepping.

Can't wait to sink another several thousand hours into Tekken =D https://imgur.com/7ZvV8Or

This is definitely gameplay with story mode shenanigans like the close ups and mid match slow-mo thrown in. There's absolutely no way there would be mid match slow-mo, it would disrupt the flow of play way too much. Some things to note from the gameplay; pushback on block is ridiculous, Kazuya's ff3 pushes jin back more than the full distance of a backdash, which is crazy, so if that's how it's going to be, it's going to affect spacing a lot. Launch height also seems to be increased - during Kazuya's PEWGF combo, the electric sent Jin stratospherically high. If that's the same in the final game, I suppose it'll give the player more time to think about combo routes and prevent people from dropping combos as much? Who knows, seems a bit much since electrics already sent you pretty damn high previously. Then Kazuha's b3, the screw attack didn't send Jin as far as screw attacks in Tekken 7 do - or at least as much as Kazuya's b3 did previously, which could be good in the final game since the main problem with screw attacks was that it meant so many combos carried the opponent to the wall that it was difficult to return to neutral play. Also, how did Kazuya evade Jin's EWHF after b2,1 connected? Nobody can backdash that, you have to block it. New mechanic? My one wish for Tekken 8 is that they bring back the sidestepping distance that was in the previous games. In Tekken 7, sidestepping basically became a useless mechanic because of how small sidesteps for every character that isn't Lili or Alisa, and because there were so many homing moves in the game. Sidestepping a move and punishing predictability was one of the cornerstones of competitive Tekken, and it was a shame to have that be nerfed.

Fair enough. Even though the end game content is sparse, I'm eager every time spiral abyss resets so I can try it with different team compositions amd builds. I agree with you that there is a lot of prohibitive bullshit in it. And that's largely to do with artifact RNG. But I'm a stubborn bastard and I've got 40 crit value artifacts on practically all my showcase characters. I've never really played a game with combat and team building quite like this. I genuinely love the game.

Holy shit, I check in two years later and people are actually playing. My UID is 704333082 Username Orion. Add me, we should coop sometime. If pressed I might tell you the obscene amount of money I've spent on this game, although you'll probably be able to tell that from my showcase anyway.

Yo people, what's the happy haps? Anyone playing this on PC/Mobile. Figure I'd ask if anyone wants to coop because I'm balls deep in this game and I can't stop. Also I've done literally everything until the December update, so I figure it'd be cool to chill and help people out with bosses etc. Anyone for some Genshin a-gogo, baby?
