i'm game. where is it?
-
doubt that. yes i hope it launches before the ps3 too, but only because i'm impatient i don't think it'll matter that much if it were to launch afterwards (although that's too close to christmas so i think it'll be beforehand), what with sony's price and their inadequacies (sp?) at getting enough ready in time. and the fact Wii is offering something so different too. with the DS a breakthrough success, people will look at Wii as it's home console counterpart and i think THAT will work in it's favour too. after all, the ds lite was released long after the psp and it's doing a lot better than the psp ever did! don't like the picture! what on earth is that meant to be?! and they should've said that the others have more power graphically, instead they said that the 360 and ps3 have more "gaming" power! well done bbc

exactly! people are too quick to judge based on badly taken screens! hardly fair! i learned my lesson from seeing constant screenshots in magazines of titles such as mario kart ds and animal crossing ds and they looked very blocky, but then when they were released the screenshots improved, and when you play them they look amazing! right now, all we can really do is wait, and read how these games play... after all that's the important thing!

scrub my last post, patience is a virtue yeh, looks great! and all the complex strategies and thoughtfulness behind this football is now so much more user-friendly. instead of it beind a chore and a game about remembering button mashes so you end up only going for plays you can actually remember (lol), it has now become much more fluid. i think the game's strategy heart will shine on Wii, and all the moves (passes etc) will be a lot more "in the moment" like it would be in a real game. can't wait!

i guess with a game and extra controller that's an great price then. if it was the same for Wii with that kinda bundled would be fine

here here, tales FAR too long!! can anyone point to another site?

tired of saying this, but it wasn't nintendo's fault that we got hyped over GDC. they kept their promise, and they made a point of making sure they told everyone. simple as. it was our own fault for speculating what would be addressed when ninty never even GAVE hints! now this 14th september event, i'm gonna get hyped for again, coz let's face it: 6 hours, a special nintendo-exclusive event, hosted by reggie, with actual invited being sent out to the press! they've planned it this way all along, and it'll make for a far better event to tell everyone, with much more coverage than GDC could ever hope to have!! the whole planet will know about Wii after this.
-
you're basing this on videos that blur (maybe just a little on some computers but a lot on others) when they're running full-screen on your computer, and screenshots that LOOK like there's no anti-aliasing but they're just bad screenshots!! you can find good versions of most screens if you look hard enough. happens all the time, always has, no need to blame Wii! red steel looks amazing, as does galaxy, and i think GCN's graphics, when done properly, are more that sufficient. to know Wii is more powerful i'm happy enough with! DS is under-powered graphically if you look at tech-specs, and it suffers in screenshots most of the time but once it's in your hands you go "wow" instead! and then the gameplay takes over anyway!

don't count on it. look at the games Ubisoft are bringing to Wii. if a developer wants to, anything "normal" can be brought to the Wii and play better than on the other two. Look at Madden, THAT's how games should be handled by EA, but for some reason this particular developer is just lazy and EA are letting them away with it. "player fatigue" is the lamest excuse, period! or should i say "exclaimation mark!" this game will suffer the same way NFS on DS did, as it was a lazy, lame version just thrown out to apease fans. there is no excuse why there should be no online (unless they're under NDA's from ninty about online services) and new controller support is a must. after all, not everyone who buys Wii will have the classic controller or an old GCN one, what are they gonna do? turn the wiimote on its side and play it like an old NES game?! this is just shit, EA needs to give these guys a kick up the arse. and the best NFS was the original one on 3DO imho
-
i played it on the megadrive all those years ago, wanted it for 3DO too but it was always sold out. i think this could easily become the best version of this game, and if EA get it right this could really hammer the message home that it's gameplay not graphics (though they are good, but the other versions will probably look better) that will win this next generation. i could say that this is real football, as it's only us that call it "American Football", and that what we class as ordinary football is actually soccer... but i won't say it
-
hasn't that been confirmed by the likes of EA already, who aren't raising their game prices for Wii?
-
well, in my experience (and this is before i was ever a nintendo fan) anythng i ever bought that was made by sony always broke within the first few months. a video recorder, a walkman, a personal cd player, all three broke very quickly, so i've stayed away from them ever since. JVC, Panasonic and Goldstar (or Lucky Goldstar as they now call themselves) have never let me down. so sony could possible take over the world, just keep penetrating each new market by throwing out inferior versions of everything everyone else makes. with that in mind, i heard the ps2 was tempermental when it first came out, is this true?

"2003 UB313"?! eh?! this isn't stargate, they gonna give this thing a proper name or not? -
"Do you trust this man?" {{they both look at each other}} Both (while shrugging): "no."

i don't mind paying a bit more, it is a new machine after all, with a bold new direction. more than happy with £150, or £175 with a game maybe.
-
exactly. the man says he wants to push for realism in games, pushing graphics further, then goes on about how sword fights (in the example he uses) shouldn't be something we replicate at home, it should be one button and one slash should kill a person. to translate that: "the future of videogaming is flashier graphics not better gameplay. is that ok mr gates? does that help in your plan to pee on wii?"

brilliant find ninja mullet, that's brilliance

The Super Mario Bros Movie (settle an argument)
knightendo replied to Fierce_LiNk's topic in General Chit Chat
i really really like it! loved it as a teenager when i wasn't a huge ninty fan, so was eager to see if it'd still hold up now that i am! (and now that i'm 28 too) and it did! i think it is genuinely funny (as in laughing WITH it) and yes that elevator scene is a classic :D:D:D it's got tons of cool references for the fans, and you get the feeling that the mushroom kingdom WAS like it is in the games but koopa's reign has seen it end up in the state it is in. a sequel coulda explored the actual mushroom kingdom. a definite 8 outta 10 i feel. spike and iggy's argument : "Wrong again! How many times have we gotten this wrong ?" "YOU'VE gotten it wrong FIVE times!" "All-for-five, all-for-five.... what percent is that?" "I dunno... let me think {{{VERY long pause}}} ... i dunno." :D lol! although this line always makes me laugh out loud: {{{mario and luigi are in suits given to them by iggy and spike as disguises}}} Luigi: "Isn't this a bit feminine?" Iggy: "Yes it was my ex-wife's." -
exactly! all this talk of "if you don't tell us soon, i'll end up buying other stuff" nonsense is doing my head in! you know it'll be under £200, you know roughly when it's out, exact details aren't gonna make a bloomin' difference right now!! and so what if they haven't released them yet?! with microsoft and sony to contend with i can't blame nintendo for keeping these things close to their chests until it comes a time that the competitors can't counteract sufficiently! and besides, what would be the best way to announce these things? in a one-hour speech at a shared conference? or at a reggie-hosted nintendo-super-event? somehow i think the 14th september event will bring much more media attention and focus down on nintendo than today ever coulda, and that's EXACTLY what we want: lots of coverage across the globe! nintendo know what they're doing, they haven't failed us so far with everything "different" they've done these past 18 months, some internet hype gets outta hand and you're all getting ready with the pitch-forks! i'm saying all this in hindsight and feeling rather silly with myself too, as looking back it was obvious all along that this wasn't gonna be the event (from last week we've even known about the big show in september too!!) but i still let the internet hype, rumours and gossip get to me and i stayed up all night like a fool! this event in three weeks will be ten times better than today ever coulda been, even if reggie and anouma etc had've been there. now stop with the nintendo slagging, admit the internet got outta hand, and let's get another thread going to discuss the new show, and continue here talking about the great news we DID hear today... read the first line of their press statement, they state that last year at the GDC they promised that by this year's show they would have expanded the market, and they have. no problem matey, any time! don't think it would, as we know it's gonna be under £200 already! nintendo have done more than they need to by giving us roughly november and a price of "under £200", they didn't have to since they were planning their event all along, but they did in the hope it'd keep us happy. releasing specific details on either won't change anything for anyone - sony, or us!
-
yeh "by september" can be taken different ways. was probably another casual nintendo statement that it's fans have latched onto yet again lol hence us being hyped up about today
-
yeh but was that at launch? the cube on it's own for me when i bought it (christmas the year of release) was £139.99 i believe. we could very well see Wii selling for the same amount or a little bit more.
-
afraid i've only got up to season five on dvd so far. if u wana play catch up though feel free. you get my pm back by the way? that was hilarious! unbelievable that the two funniest sections were time-fillers because the ep ran short! an obvious rip-off of groundhog day, but done so well and acted so brilliantly by anderson and judge i don't care i loved the NID episodes, love that governmental conspiracy thing. added an extra layer of realism to the overal project if you ask me. especially loved the one involving "starsky and hutch", the bard will know what one i mean lol!
-
ah right lol. just knew there were some stargate fans here who might appreciate it thats all tho i love macguyver too, might start with those boxsets too
-
but we did know. the invitation was posted up and everything, not just on this site but others too. we were all just too caught up in our own hype to think past today lol.
