@Happenstance I would have to vote yes and I'd expect it to be pretty much the lead up to the original Metal Gear....I also think given Konami's current status in the videogame industry they would rather pour a lot less money into Fox Engine remakes of those first two games and churn them out super fast than have another protracted dev cycle for a sequel.

I'm playing Peace Walker now and there is no way it is even close to best of the series. It's basically Portable Ops meets Monster Hunter. I've also heard some of the bosses are near impossible not in co-op.

the tennis thread actually got me thinking about this with their discussion about where have all the tennis games gone. It's got me thinking about all the genres and franchises that used to be premium products and now aren't. Codemasters for example used to be huge and a lot of their titles were big sellers in the PS1/PS2 era now we’ve seen a vastly reduced in scope F1 game come out and Dirt is in early access. I think the death of a B tier publisher like THQ has certainly impacted upon this; they would certainly have their big releases but also fill out libraries with more variety (granted some of it shovel ware). It’s also got me thinking going back even further and thinking how back in the day we would have sports titles by each platform holder and even they have dried up. I guess it's all part of the industry being less risk adverse but as a result I think we end up playing less games. If there was more variety for example I may have picked up Wolfenstein but instead it's just like urgh another shooter. If I was consuming a broader diet of gaming it might not feel like that it would just be another game to have in a library.

So I watched this last night finally. What a mess....so a lot is made of oh well they stopped this so John Connor wouldn't exist etc... Terminator to all extents and purposes is stuck in this constant loop of a rewritten future attempting to alter the past, but for me that's not what's wrong it's time travel is too convoluted and complicated for it's own good. Look at Primer a bloody complicated time travel movie but one that certainly makes sense. There are few things I couldn't get my head round.

This looks awesome definitely in keeping with the mood of the movie short.

Yeah I've waiting for Lords of the Fallen to drop in price. I should elaborate I have actually played Dark Souls and beaten one boss but I got stuck past there couldn't get any further. Going back to PS3 controller didn't help in some ways so if it's added to Xbox One backwards compatibility I may try it again as I own a Games with Gold copy. Persona is actually another one for me as well. I have one of the PS2 classics sat on my PS3 that I've not even touched.

@S\.C\.G I also have to say it's a crying shame this feature of yours can't get any coverage on the front page of here (completely understandable why not though)

You know what....Mickey's Speedway USA was actually pretty good as fair as karting games go....Only problem was that one of Scrooge McDuck's nephews Hewey, Dewey or Louiy was way overpowered.

@Cube pretty much summed up what I meant. I'd agree Goldeneye the Donkey Kong Country games and Diddy Kong Racing are the stand out probably. DK was never gonna appear as he is a still a growing concern as a franchise for Nintendo. Goldeneye is mired in rights issues, the movie rights changed hands since then and the games have been through numerous deals no one was ever going to give Microsoft publishing rights as part of a compilation.

Gamespot gave this an 8/10. Their negatives are very odd indeed; Other than games ruled out by rights issues what other games are missing? There are their GBA games? Conker's Pocket Tales, Banjo Pilot, It's Mr Underpants? There are other Spectrum games that literally no one remembers...I don't get it.

I think they already did as part of day one patch. My copy not here yet. Was sent out Thursday morning but then sat in depot since Thursday afternoon according to the tracking. Sat in postal depot and it's a bank holiday on Monday so not holding out hope I'll get it before launch. Worth the wait though as due to Amazon's deals at E3 I only paid $26.99 (just 13 quid!)

Does that way keep your personal files and programs installed though? I left my computer overnight and it didn't install Windows 10 at all.... EDIT: That way didn't work I got the something happened something happened error.

That retro loot box basically went bust...they stopped delivering outside of UK and now they just sell retro games on their site.

My major issue has been despite running the preview previously and rolling back 8.1 will now not update to 10 and I've had all kinds of errors whilst trying to update 8.1 to the latest version to push the 10 update on to it but I'm going now.

Yeah as powerful as the ending was....

So I was watching this....and actually turned it off because it was too much. Pretty early on he was doing a practice where he was killing himself to get out of levels early and just kept saying "yep I'm suicidal I don't deserve to live" you could tell there was an atmosphere the clapping didn't seem as enthusiastic. Kinda ironic that the speed running community have been asking people not to mmediately repost videos this so that speed runners can do it themselves and get the hits/coverage and this guy may now have alienated himself from the community for good. In other news I watched a bunch yday all the sonic stuff was awesome (poor shadow the hedgehog guy who was struggling to get people to sit on sofa with him) Only thing I missed was the DKC race which I'm going back to watch now. Got bit of this morning stuff to catch up on as well.

yeah that's another one I want to play.

Yeah I still have my PS3 I just want to play it and portable seemed the way to go as I need a few things to play on the go. Perhaps I can get it and then play 2 properly as well. Ah ok I got tripped up there I advance searched Metal Gear...
