  1. aye! It's a joyous ride, my man. Very refreshing when you start the module and scream at the essay questions, then a few weeks later you're either sorted, or you just have to spend 16 hours reading up on it on the web
  2. Just a quick shout-out; I'm going to be in huddersfield this friday, if all goes well. Wes and Stefkov are there, right? If you fancy a pint then gimme a bell.
  3. I remembered that! Googled it and it's Cabin Fever
  4. I hear you, dude... Finished the essay with roughly 3,200 words or something. We're supposed to have an online submission form called Turnitin, only the module blackboard doesn't have it put up, and they don't have staff contact info, and the search for the whole blackboard site doesn't work... So after a bit of awful detective work (module handbook, duh >_<) I've emailed a copy to my tutor. Next up is the battle with university printers, which as far as I could tell REFUSED to print on single sides last time. Then alcohol-induced coma, plz.
  5. Well I wanna be sedated, so we all lose. Well I've had three years of english studies, so I'm supposed to be able to answer it :P Getting close to finishing... By lunchtime, maybe.
  6. You're right. It's totally unfair on everyone else in teh picture.
  7. I'm not a bad influence! ... 2,900 words. 1,700 without quotes. 17 essays that I can still pilfer from, as well as three text books sitting here. I rock at pwning-up criticism, even if each time I write an awesome paragraph I go and find it written better in some journal.... but I suck at actually quoting the fucking books I'm supposed to be writing about. I am answering the question ("How does modernist fiction understand reality?") but not really referrencing 'in depth' both of the books. Not drunk too much coke so far. Considering I started the day with 12 in the fridge, I have 3 and a half left! A friend on my course just signed into facebook. She has a hangover and hasn't started her essay yet AND IT'S DUE IN LESS THAN SEVEN HOURS. Madness.
  8. Indeed :P After all, Fargo was "based on a true story" Nacho Libre. A soft-hearted, predictable movie with unpredictable quirky moments that amused greatly. Along with School of Rock this will one day be shown at least five times a year on ITV on sunday afternoons to keep the kids amused. But that's not a bad thing! Not a great thing, but hey. It never had any misguided intentions to do anything more than it did. A perfectly nice film to watch with your amigos and some beverages. 6/10
  9. I used to jokingly quote Brand New and say "I used to be the glue that kept my friends together, and now they don't talk and we don't go out"... I have mates that ring when they want to go out but none that want to just 'chill out'. I love chilling out, but I live with my two best mates, so we get to do it pretty much every other night. people are inherantly selfish. There's nothing you can do about it. You can go through phases of treating everyone awesomely, but you'll never get paid back. I don't know. Could get egotistical if this carries on too much
  10. lol, seriously! Awesome. You nearly match my speed at racing through series Sure thing. But when you get to 5 I want to watch it with you as that series was awesome. Damn christmas being around the corner! I want to buy series 7 already.
  11. mmm scurbs. :| Over a kilo of words done. Fan-dabby-doo. I think I'll hit an intellectual 'wall' around 2am. Siiiigh.
  12. What gets me is the quantum mechanics of it all - if you took all the space out of a man and squished all the particles together, he would be a barely-visable speck of dust. There are particles that go backwards in time! The universe is one big oxymoron of massive energy. We might just be one note in a smorgastic symphony of the universe... but we're, like all connected doooood. Reality isn't this blue-skied, black-shadow thing we're used to - that's just our perception. And stuff. Etc. shh. I don't really care if I'm not special to the universe. It kind of means I don't have to be some sort fo role model for anyone. It means my life is mine to do as I please.
  13. Lol, well done :P I'm... never answering the phone properly again.
  14. A nice video to enjoy, along these lines Fish; there's a video about that, too; EDIT: btw, these sorts of threads really don't help me with my essay writing.
  15. there's no need to be afraid?! Scariest video ever.
  16. Mine is clearly the best.
  17. Just had some guy call me, inquiring about the wheelbarrow I have for sale in the Sheffield Guardian. Hum.
  18. I'm no trekkie fan, I'm afraid, but so far it seems to be made of extremely standard stuff.
  19. I hate turnitin. What's the point of it? The whole "it'll tell you how PLAGUARISED your essay is" element was seemingly removed when they updated it the other week, so now I'm just handing it in twice. Which is still ridiculous. But! Cheers for reminding me about turnitin. Here starteth another 24+ hour marathon essay-writing sesh.
  20. To be honest, I hate it when that happens. May just be the paranoiac inside me, but I'm pretty damn certain they're always doing it due to some sort of in-joke. I hate girlz. I, too, want to stay up all night and watch movies but ALAS my alarm is set for 12 midday tomorrow and I really must/ought to go to bed and do essay tomorrow. Internet is running out of distractions anyway. BAH!
  21. Yeah, you said Maybe drunker than you think?
  22. I'm still stuck on that bit :P after I swing I've made it onto the platform somehow, then died there. I even once got all 7 guards/swats before attempting it, and just fell to my doom. I hadn't thought of using slow-mo (never remember it) so I'll have to try it again, but goddamit it's far too frustrating for what it's worth. At one point I ran round the corner and jumped over the side, got the achievement for landing feet first on an enemy then died, and had to keep restarting from that lower-level position!
  23. Wouldn't it be "lack of specification", or "lack of specifical specifics". Man, Specifics is a weird word.
