I don't know what to say. I sit here and type away, deleting paragraph after paragraph of truths and inconsequential sentances that will get nowhere and get me nothing at all. I've been swollen with unfounded dreams and desires to embrace the absurd and attempt the undone. In some senses, the will to rewind 2 years of my life is painfully supreme to any such irk that ires to keep me invested in the modern day. What have I become? Have I changed? Am I not different? Does it even matter? Do scars hurt when you cut them open again... really? With no horizon bantering against me, no heavy future clouding nor sailing; I see not why I can't pursue the avenues cobwebbed and painted over, the paths I pretended I never trod. I recognise only a few token sentiments that are offed and shouted at me, though I don't heed to them purely for chance's sake. I mean little. I want little. I am prepared to sacrifice. I am prepared to fail. I just have to try not to propose, and at least I'll regain some dignity. I am totally going to jump on the bandwaggon; I don't know what you're after, but all you're going to get is angry sex if you don't give yourself a chance to heaaalll. So... uh.. go for it, I guess!

I always used to think that Cage was an excellent actor, but the fact that he has no talent at all in telling a good film from a bad means we have to sift through such utter drudge to find the rare gem; Matchstick Men was a great little film, but Weatherman just dragged on and on. The fact is he never gives an amazing performance in a bad movie. He too easily gets dragged down by the rest of the film.

Record this shit right here! This is the sort of thing that would, I I hadn't already seen it all, keep me alive every day for absolutely ages. I will be trying very hard to force people to watch this show. Just imagining a s05 finale with like 8 mates sitting around, seeing their faces... GAWD Lawl :P One ep a day is fairly leisurely, but your life will just be The Wire for the eternity it will take to see the whole show. Very surprised they're doing one-a-day as most people surely won't be able to see every single episode each week. Perhaps a sunday-catch-up type thing is in order. Or maybe bbc three will air previous week's episode an hour before? Ho hum. Nobody has an excuse. Watch the first three episodes. Give it that much of a chance.

Agreed! And Penny, of course. *drooools* Big Love s01 It's like some weird Desperate Housewives meets, in terms of humour, Six Feet Under. Strangely compelling, darkly straddling you between the buttocks of the alien and the familiar. Bizarrely overlooked by the sci-fi world, Big Love presents a show of fantasy and surrealism in the guise of the homely and the normal - such a juxtaposition the likes of gene rodenberry would never achieve. Or something. You are consistantly reminded of the power of love, and the danger it poses to a society where majority rules, at least. Wanda is my favourite chracter, by far. I often wish that polygamy really was a made up non-sense, so that the show could spread the craziness to many corners of the human spleen. I look forward to the next season with great gusto -- though it is mostly because I know a third season already exists, so it can't be that bad. Triple post! Kings e01 &e02 Ol' Al Swearengen from Deadwood is this king dude, and basically the first episode is a reenactment of David vs. Goliath (fairly explicit one...) set in the modern world. Skyscrapers, tanks, politics and religion. Many interesting characters. Cheers to Haden for pushing me into actually giving the show a go! Mondays = Kings & Breaking Bad day.- 3920 replies

Jordan; my entire evening was spent acting out the morals that Captain Falcon set out; I didn't really want to do anything but I fucking did it because I fucking said I would. Went to a restaurant, ate some average italian food that was overpriced with a bunch of self-involved people that are hesitant to welcome new-comers, despite the fact that this was my city and they were all tourists. My new hair (so they didn't recognise me at all) and my glasses made me out to be INDIE and AN ENGLISH STUDENT so now I'm all paranoid about that. Went to a stupidly expensive trendy bar where I had to leave my hoodie tied to the front gate; stood around and smoked and generally didn't get on with anyone, then went to a pub where i had a couple of pints, bumped into some of my juggling mates and joined them for some proper laughs followed by a man-overboard style escape from the group I was with into the Corporation, where the music was mostly shit and I dropped my new glasses, found out a girl that has a boyfriend and has a guy liking her actually likes me a little, but I don't really want to get involved because of all the other stirngs attached... Walked home, decided I wanted booze, found that the only place was this 'international food market' next door to costcutters that I never go to... I had no cash, tried 3 cash machines (and all denied me... shit...) only to find the dude behind the till LET ME TAKE FOUR CANS FOR NOTHING AT ALL, solely on the trust that I would return someday to pay him the cash for them. The guy is a legend and I shall only shop there in the future. Been texting one of my ex's a lot recently to the point where my future is blurring with hers. Another ex texted me tonight and that made things complicated, and a close friend texted me with an awkward drunken message that is probably more annoying than cute. I'm no girl magnet, I just attract problems. So in all; a rather boring day that has done nothing but stop me from writing my presentation, and will probably give me a bad enough hangover as to not want to do it tomorrow. What a stupid-long message.

The 'brother' stuff is hugely interesting, and while we could theorise plenty about the origins, the likelihood is that we are facing something entirely new to the SCC show, as opposed to something quick-started by John Henry himself, which I'd've loved to have seen. The whole 'death' thing is so stark and brilliant that it really loops the whole Skynet round to being our fault, while at the same time never really pin-pointing a specific moment. The show's current alignment to biblical storylines is massively beneficial to the show as a whole, and I really think that they're playing it rather well. Here's hoping the cliffhanger here doesn't get resolved too soon. I really liked the 'game' young connor and his mum played in the jungle. Really made you realise that, really, the only reason John is destined to be the leader is pretty much just because he will have had over 20 years of experience with the dilemma faced by humankind. I'm on the US timeline. From what I hear there's not much difference between the two - is this right?- 3920 replies

Personally I think the reporter seems to make situations appear worse than they seem initially -- a bit of a spin is put in the write-up just to stir rumours and gossip. I wouldn't vote purely based on what I read in the papers unless there was some proof that these concoctions are definitively being used for malicious purposes. I'm not going to vote for fish, but for the peace of mind for the rest of us, perhaps elaborate a little on what it is that you do.

I'm paying about £150 a month for rent, was paying £225 last year. In my first year it was around £3200 bills included for teh 39-week year. I don't know why people ever pay more, to be honest.

Well i'm sitting here in the dark as it is :P I'm supposed to be out then, so I'll ask the restaurant to turn off the lights :|

People don't need to stare and label toasters and mircowaves :P I can see that's what it is! Did a trial-video yesterday. Will try a proper run tomorrow, and hopefully won't make too big a tit of myself.

I know what you mean. I don't really get what their target audience is. The show has some interesting cringing ideas but, really, it just pans out as being too innocent. It needs to Jam-it-up. Smallville's new ep was pretty much a filler one, but at least the filler episodes are trying something new this season rather than just introducing another meteor-freak. Unfortunately there's still been lots and lots of amnesia, which I still hate... Supernatural's interesting again. Any episode with the GHOSTFACERS! in it is bound to be a good one. "Angel or not I will stab you in the face." Good stuff. Building up well! Sarah Connor Chronicles is actually growing to be one of the shows I look forward to each week, now. "[iYes. We can change the rules[/i]" is quite possibly one of the scariest things a robot could ever say. Engaging in imaginative play... Shit. Skynet just levelled up. Mind and body has formed! Noo! Next stop is the soul! Turning it off probably did that part too. Scene with the boob (first one) = mega good. Way more implicit. Boat? Awesome. This is gooood. Dollhouse - everyone gets stoned. Drugs are bad. Girl-next-door gets more depth. An offer made at the end... Good episode! Very interesting.- 3920 replies

Your bog roll is in a weird place! I think we have your toaster. I dunno. I never use it. Definitely got your 'little table'. Not a fan of the gaming posters tbh! Get some cool movie ones in for more respect points, yo. Although the gurn at the end wins some back ^_^ I'll do a tour of my flat when I've conferred with shorty and nami. And after I've done a couple of script drafts.

Well I mean to say that you are clearly finding strength in your musical opinion, and you are proud that you have an ear for quality and of course you both want to share good music, but also your good taste; you want people to recognise you for that. What I mean is that the more you go after the 'recognition' for being a music critic, the less people will respectfully disagree with you (and choose rather to just flat out resort to name-calling and what-not). If... that makes any sense at all. They're just... so very aware of what music they like, of what their life beliefs are and they don't take shit from anyone, yet they're so very down to earth and definitively odd as people (though... though I do think there's a large element of persona about them). They're just cool. :P I just thought you and Paj have been arguing a bit in this thread Glad you like 'em! I need to get more of their stuff. But thanks for backing up my "you like them if you're gay" thing :P

Paj - not trying to stir here but you got to realise that you'll find more and more people annoying the less you care about coming across as a preacher. If you're not discussing with a friend then you're arguing with an enemy, so you can't be offended, really. Yeah I know you're not gay. Maybe you should read up on them, I think you'd admire them for at least doing what they're doing.

Sooo... does anyone like Pet Shop Boys or is it just the gay people? I mean, I like them too, and I'm not gay. I just figured chair/paj/notsomuchhaggisthesedays would be interested in them at least for their whole avant-garde approach to their music (which I personally find massively amazing that they've stuck with it so solidly and so completely for so long). Lol, busted :P

I think I'm really starting to be able to grow an awesome beard. I got new glasses so now I look "my age", only I hope some of the responsibility that comes with being a 22 year old starts being observed and perhaps handled with efficiency. Plus I got some weed so I'm wasting more time doing nothing, wooooo!

What do people think of the Horne and Corden show thing? There's definitely a lot of fluff still there, and the start was off, and while I won't panic if I miss an episode I'll definitely watch it if I tune past it.- 3920 replies

Finished Friday Night Lights Overview: I still don't really understand some decisions they made in-between seasons; they'd hack away half of the secondary cast with no explanation whatsoever, as if they were retconned out of the universe entirely. Entire relationships would shift and change for no reason besides the fact that clearly the writers thought it would set up for a more interesting season, and in the third season the whole 'house' mini-arc was over way too soon, leaving is very much street-deprived over the last four-or-so episodes. ... But I'm sure we can all blame the writer's strike for at least some of that. It's actually surprisingly hard to talk about the show without spoiling anything. I can definitely say, though, that it is an above average show. I showed an episode to two friends and they, too, were surprised that they liked it. You will laugh. You most probably will be holding back some tears, and you will certainly be begging for a fourth season, that we can but dream of. (Oh yeah - this means I'm on Big Love now, with some West Wing lined up and waiting :P)- 3920 replies

Xpert Eleven Season 8: Villan still a loser
jayseven replied to Mr_Odwin's topic in General Chit Chat
prepared = guessing opponent's formation, isn't it? I always figure it's that and/or choosing the defense option that best closes down their offense. I played a younger squad. Didn't bother trying to defeat the odds and played cautiously for the first time in absolutely seasons. I will be beating you on the home leg :P I won't be playing 3 new players that have less than 5 skill, so you'll actually have a challenge :P I won out in the pools again, at least! I'll still be out of the relegation zone after the next round, regardless of whether I win or not, but a win against cube would very much give me a bit of breathing space for a few rounds, that'd be very much needed, especially considering certain teams still have a game in hand... But I'm much more confident against cube. Sorry, cube! Oh and mundi - i thought you got 400,000? -

I've just finished reading your look at Dollhouse, and I have to say you pulled a lot of punches. The article could benefit a lot from being actively eyeing-up e06 as a review specifically. I mean, you mention in the earlier part of the article where the show's been going wrong but you didn't re-address them in any positive light -- the talk of dushku being the primary focus for the "Fox-orientated episodes" doesn't earn itself a rebuttal in the form of the promising storylines that were unwrapped for us last week. I like the cultural comparisons you made, and I'm very thankful there weren't too many because usually reading so many contextual references just makes me sad about how ignorant I am. Good stuff - I'll keep on reading. But I still don't like the header :P- 3920 replies
