I have both l4ds, am I right in assuming, then, that the DLC will be separate for both versions of the game -- so if I want all the achievements I'll have to buy it twice? Sadface...

Yeah, I know I was always a bit of a hoarder, but last year some of my stuff didn't leave the boxes from when I moved out of the flat, and this year there's even more in boxes. I live out of a suitcase. My mum's place is just ridiculously overcrowded with shit she doesn't need -- she has dozens of VHS, old GCSE text books, massive hardback Joanna Trollope 'novels'. I bought her a laptop to free up the PC space, transferred everything off of the computer and onto the laptop and now she's refusing to get rid of teh PC, not even box it up, which would free up enough room in the lounge to move the bookcase in from the corridor (which is about as wide as ours was, Shorty). The hardest stuff to throw away are those 'memory' things. I've got shitty little medals/trophies from when I played football, love-letters from my teenage years... I'm never going to have them on display, I just can't get rid of 'em.

Good luck with it all Sheikah! I was looking at moving into flat/houseshares with mates recently, and found that unfurnished places could be up to £100 cheaper a month for me. A quick ask-around of friends and family threw up a great smorgasboard of furiture that would've given the place a really eclectic feel - a rundown old sofabed, a z-bed, knackered computer desks, planks of wood (I was intending to make my own ramshackle furniture out of them...), garden furniture as dining equipment, an old fridge (no freezer compartment)... essentially I'd've had to start from the very bottom and work towards things like washing machines and real beds... Instead I've decided to put off getting my own place 'til I get a job :P I can't imagine how much getting all that furniture sorted out would cost, especially with a girlfriend raising the acceptible standards a little!

Oh yeah I got my n64 and GC stuff too but that's in another box in another room :P I've only got like 6 n64 games, i know i have vigilante 8 second offence and blast corps but I can't remember the rest... I figured I'd probably not get much for anything at a car-boot, but if I can sell half of my stuff for 50p/£1 each then I can maybe make a tenner and just free up a lot of space. I'm probably just going to throw away the master system and playstation. IIRC neither console fully works anymore, anyway.

I don't understand the 1 + 1 one ending at 0... I'm sure there's something sneaky involved, what is it? -

RE: Routh/routh (lol): think of how we pronounce route differently in uk/us. Someone with routh as a surname in the UK is likely to pronounce it as if it rhymes with booth... but seeing as it's his name, going by how he pronounces is makes sense! -
I'm sorting some shit out, and so far I've come across a PSX with a bunch of games (including an NTSC Chrono Cross, which must surely be worth a few quid?), a master system II with games, my old n64/ngc mags with loads of the free gifts (game guides, cards, fridge magnets, etc), and of course a crapload of books. I've never really used eBay, so I don't really know what's worth selling on there - maybe Chrono Cross, but it's hard to see whether it's worth it, seeing as there's a fatory-sealed one going for £15 (with 3 days left of bidding), a UK one going for £2 but with 5 days left of bidding and a jap one going for £16 but with 26 (!!!) days left of the bid. Similarly, the magazines are all up for like 99p + £1.75 p&p, mostly with no bids except the odd one here-or-there. There doesn't really seem to be much demand... so am i better off just going to the car boot and saying 50p a mag? I don't really know why I'm asking. Really I'm hoping someone'll know about Chrono Cross...

In brighton there's quite a focus on recycling, with 'black box' schemes having been run here for over 5 years. You simply put glass, paper, plastic, metal stuff into a black box and the company does its rounds once a week and sorts it as it goes. They slowly suggested people separate their material into separate bags, but now they have said not to use plastic bags anymore as it took too long per house to rip into each bag and empty the contents into the appropriate part of their truck, so it's back to everything-in-one-box, only now everyone has a separate box for glass, and they do the sorting later on rather than on-the-round. In sheffield I've always tried to have a focus on recycling... in halls there was a bin outside for metal so we saved that. In our flat we had a recycling cupboard that, once full, we'd gather and take down to a recycling point down the road. In my house, I was teh only one who had any interest in recycling at all. I'd often fish out cans/glass from the bin and put them in a recycling cupboard. There as a recycling point practically over the road so I did my damn bit and then some. We had a blue bin outside our house which was for paper/card only, a green one for waste and a black one for garden waste. Just as I was leaving sheffield I believe they were introducing a new scheme... LONG BORING. Could've thread-ripped.

I tend to, once every couple of months, go mad and buy loads of xbox games. I must have a dozen that I've barely played and yet there's loads I still wanna get! Currently I've been squandering money, slowly but surely, because I've not had to pay rent for two months and instead I've given myself a fairly large budget to fuck about with. Living at home sucks, I get no food provided so I buy it all myself and my cooking stuff is still in boxes so I can't cook from scratch so I just buy expensive stuff. I like to go into charity shops and buy loads of books!

Xpert 11: Season 14, Fresh Blood and Old Grudges
jayseven replied to Haden's topic in General Chit Chat
16 increases, only 9 visible. kinda dissapointed after what I presumed was a good season for concentrating on dev. value, to find my two youth midfielders, who finished on 12 and 13 dev. value, didn't get a visible rise. While my defense if fairly rounded, I may need to buy a defender and a reserve keeper (dev. value of 13 and he visibly went down a skill...) My forwards are, as always, pretty shite. I guess next season I'll try somehow to do better than this one dev-wise. I think I may see a good knock-on effect from this season, and I'll aim for a double-jump for some of the higher dev-valued guys from the end of this season for the end of next. My team is definitely stronger now, but hearing everyone else's change reports, not strong enough. My prediction for season 15 will be a battle for survival, once more! I might buy myself VIP too... Looking at the strength of teams alone, I'd say that next season we'll see fish, me, Eights and maybe ReZ fighting for survival, with fish favourites to go straight back down... -

People! Read the rules - answer one question unless told otherwise. I've edited a couple of posts that attempted moar. Maddog; rules state that you cannot guess again 'til you've been told that you are wrong by the quizmaster. -

I edited the OP because it was black's move, not white's (my fault). After quickly answering (no idea why I felt the need, with so many questions :P) I scrolled down and saw how many I could've answered. I hope we get the questions re-opened a few times just so that people attempt some of teh tricky but oh-so good questions. I fancied myself for that three-pointer! -

Even 'free range' chicken farming is rather intensely done. Down near brighton there's a place called, lol, Henfield, and at henfield there's a place called, lol, Hen Heaven, where an old lady looks after 30 chickens as if they're her own kids. They're on a massive field with a large fence around it to keep foxes out, and they really just get to do whatever tehy like all day, laying eggs wherever. These eggs are vegan friendly, in this sense. My brain feels muddled right now so not much sense is being made. Anyway, yeah; 'free range' chickens can still be debeaked, killed off when too 'old', forced to lay eggs all year round, subject to growth hormones and other 'innoculations', mistreated, etc, etc.

Enjoyed teh video, considering picking it up too! Although... No DRM... a few MB in size... *hint hint*

So much win in the OP dude - I remember having to wait 'til past 6pm to use the computer (56k!!!) - everyone assuming I loved the colour purple - getting stuck on SSSV because of a section where you were a penguin and you had to do the close encounters tune but I couldn't hear the difference between some of teh notes so Jim and Rob helped me out - LaIkMoSh's general insanity - Svt4Him being all older than us - hearing Blackbird's voice over msn (robot)... - One NYE, being all "woo countdown!" in IRC, then "Woo last-minute party invite laters suckerrrrs!" then a year later "woo countdown!" again - SCHPICKLES. Where's he gone?! - Falcolombardi, who turns up like once every two months to make a post here now - isketch - forum quiz (yay, it's back!!) - people's average age being 14 - Lammy! Taught me everything I knew about photoshop. He even sent me a pirate copy! He lives in Australia. - Oh! For my product design GCSE I made a leaflet/stand based on the forums (wish I knew where it was!) that Tim and Gerben wrote a "welcome!" thing for! Got something like 105/120 for that project. Epic. - Organising *ahem :P* the first big meet 3 years ago, and making the effort to, so far, meet something like 60 members from the forum! ... Those are a few memories, interesting only to the c-e elites, I'd guess. There's billions more. This forum has really played a massive part of my life. Which is probably incredibly sad. -
Looks like we have two powerful neutrals as well as a mafia! Should be interesting... Vote: nobody.

Watched it each week and I agree, it's gotten better, but still not 'there' yet. It was less-bad this week because it was less clautraphobic by having characters external to the family bringing out a different side to the family, rather than the character-building no-story stuff. Hoping foundations are being laid for a better second half of the season's run, because at the moment I'm having to agree with the family's thought that Amstel shouldn't've quit Buzzcocks.

I hate talking on the phone on the train/bus. And I kinda hate talking on them full-stop. I don't want a bunch of strangers knowing my shit! That last part is hypocritical of my post in the poo thread...

I got past any aversion to using public loos a long time ago. Totally saves on buying toilet paper.

Zombies can't swim, but let's take the classical zombie idea and suggest they don't have to breathe either, so they can sink and walk along the sea-bed until they get to ya! A small lake-island wouldn't work in this scenario. In school we used to fantasize about heading to brighton pier, lopping off the end of it and surviving there for a while, making a boat out of the planks then cruising to the marina and getting an oil tanker and living on that. It was kinda well thought-out, to the extent where we'd deck out the tanker with a layer of soil and have plants growing to feed us, but then not-at-all because... well, loads of people would think of doing that too. I like thinking about this topic more than I do writing about it at the mo, though!

I used to IRC/MSN a fair bit, what, a decade ago? It phased out as I phased the cider in. I don't have the attention for it anymore. The internet has made me ADHohlookarug! and I don't like initiating conversations because I quickly realise I have nothing to say and I'm all too aware of all teh times people just went "HI!" and then were unable to follow up with any reason to talk. It felt as if they wanted to talk to me because they wanted me to talk. While some people would enjoy the attention I just see it as if they think I'm a TV, or something.

EZA Game Sleuth (GT Pop Fiction)
jayseven replied to Happenstance's topic in General Gaming Discussion
I remember many feverish, hour-long attempts with mates who "knew how to cross the lake" from my youth. I was surprised this (and the aeris myth) made it to full-length episodes as both are ridiculously, and obviously, myths that really don't take more than a minute to tell. But then, are there really that many gaming myths? The only other 'myth' I can think of is the Tomb Raider naked cheat, which again isn't true at all. God, I hope they don't do an episode of that! -
Xpert 11: Season 14, Fresh Blood and Old Grudges
jayseven replied to Haden's topic in General Chit Chat
Every single of my players has 11 or more dev. value. It has simply been my best training season of all time -- I'm expecting one double-jump for my super-defender (dev. value 16 - last year he had 20 :P), and hoping for three or four others as most of my youth are sitting between 12 and 14 dev-value. My older guys are mostly 11s and 12s... but I will be shocked if anyone goes down. Still got one last training session ongoing and 5m in the bank -- will consider transfers after the change report, maybe sell a couple of guys - with 5m in teh bank I need to beef up my squad as my plans for next season, while still not promotion, involve not surviving relegation with the FINAL game of the season... ... And what a game it was! Went 3-0 up and it finished 3-3, giving me the point I needed to survive. Happenstance will bounce back next season - I'll be surprised if the three that get relegated don't all come straight back up (except shorty as he may choose to not play for a few months :P) The boys coming from the top league look set to get straight back up there again. Am I wrong in remembering that, once upon a time, a 7-skill player was amazing and now the top league is littered with squads of 9-skill?
