I played most of the time with a Pro Controller and didn't have any issues so I don't think you have to worry about mandatory motion controls for the moons. Though I haven't completed it so I don't know for certain.

Nope, it's all or nothing with Yakuza. But it is best to play through them all I hear. @RedShell will probably be able to answer you in more detail being that he's played them all. He'll probably advise you play them all as well though... I'd suggest starting with Yakuza 0 and see how you get on.

Congrats on getting a PS4. I'd recommend... Devil May Cry Trilogy Devil May Cry 5 God of War InFAMOUS Second Son/First Light Resident Evil 2 Shenmue I & II Shenmue III Yakuza series Those are just the obvious games which stick out in the library to me, I'm sure there are plenty of others.

My brother and I just started playing Doom 2016 on Nightmare mode for the first time on the Switch, after an hour and a half trying to beat the first main room we left it. Going just by that, a complete Nightmare mode run on 100% is probably more fun to watch than it is to play, I might even watch it for some tips if no progress has been made. Might just bump the difficulty down a notch though...

I've had trouble with the original dock, I have two though so that when it happens I swap them out, it then works fine and I only swap back when I need to. I don't think the dock is necessarilly broken but what you've described @Aneres11 is exactly what happened to me but if you just have the one dock then it's tricky to diagnose. It's only because I like having the dock set up and keep another one for the times when I want to play Switch multiplayer or just in another room as it's easier. I'm actually about to play some Switch multiplayer now locally which means I'll be using my original dock which last messed up a few months back during Mario Kart night. I'll let you know how it goes but it's usually just annoyingly intermittent, as it will work perfectly for months and then it just stops working properly for seemingly no reason. If it's your only dock then, I know you've probably tried this already and it's a hassle but, just unplug everything, turn the TV off then start reconnecting everything to do with the Switch. Sometimes that works, I'm not sure if it's worth sending the dock in for repair, especially if it's going to cost you, if it isn't though then you don't have anything to lose. Definitely don't send your Switch console in though, it's more likely to just be the dock.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate spirits event 'Comfy and Easy to Wear' is now live This event will last for three short days so don't get too comfortable as some of these spirits surely won't be easy and might even wear on your patience. But it will be worth beating them to make your spirit collection complete again, until then you may find you're a few spirits short. OK, that's enough forced short references now, time to cut this post off at the knees. Still, a great theme for the last spirit event of 2019.

The Adventures of Elena Temple: Definitive Edition gets a new trailer The Adventures of Elena Temple: Definitive Edition by developer Grimtalin is available on the Nintendo eShop for £4.49 (£3.59 -20% until 31/12/2019) (plus a discount for anyone who owns the original title) A very enjoyable title even in its original form, we reviewed it last year and the only criticism was that the game could have more replay value... ...this seems to solve that moderate gripe and then some, as there are now two more dungeons and loads of new ways to play. Check the article for the full details and trailer.

Thanks for the games tonight @Glen-i @RedShell & @LazyBoy those were some fun matches. Cheers to everyone for joining in the with King K. Rool madness as well, no idea how the video turned out but will keep you posted.
-
Is there any chance we could have a few matches as King K. Rool only please? (at least I think that's the idea @LazyBoy is going for) We were going to join and record all the matches, you'd be more than welcome to join us for an off-the-cuff edition of A Smashing Cast over on Discord... I know it's all a bit last minute, will be joining in a minute anyway. No worries if not though, the main thing is just playing a few rounds of Smash and having fun like we usually do.

You know what game I ended up loading up this week at just before 8PM through force of habit... Ah well, at least I'm early for Smash!

Ah, I see you got the artcard set from Perfect Blue by Satoshi Kon an excellent film indeed, highly recommended if you don't already own it.

Nintendo announces first details of Luigi's Mansion 3 Multiplayer DLC Normally I'd say... "And it's now up on the main page!" but this news dropped last night so its already been covered. Not sure how to feel about this dlc, we did know about it in advance so I'm fine with it, I don't know if I'll be rushing to buy it though. I'd need to finish the main game first...

Nintendo have released a new update for Cadence of Hyrule which includes free DLC titled Octavo's Ode Free dlc, out of nowhere for Cadence of Hyrule, which is available... right now! (can we have that physical version now Nintendo? Or whenever more possible planned dlc has finished being released for the game)

Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE Encore (16th Jan)
S.C.G replied to Hero-of-Time's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE Encore preview video for "She Is..." song Check out the preview for the new song "She is..." from the upcoming Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE Encore which will be released on January 17th on the Switch. I'll be picking this title up again seeing as I never finished it on the Wii U, hopefully it will get the second chance it deserves on the Switch. -
And even that's generous, in terms of power it was later thought to be only about 1.5 times as powerful as the GameCube. Imagine if the Xbox Series X had to be the size of however many GameCube consoles it's equal to in terms of power... some of the above images would be almost accurate. Also, I just thought... that would make the power brick almost the size of a small generator.

Oh nice, that's what the finished book looks like. Mine arrived the other day but I hadn't opened it yet, I do intend to though and hopefully I'll read this one in a timely manner... ...and then start reading the rest, including that GameCube anthology which Hero posted about. I've helped kickstart most of the main collected works and Bitmap Books over the years including one on the Master System, so I've got a few to get through now.

Nice one @nekunando I've added the embedded YouTube version to the original promotional article.

It isn't Crypt of the Necrodancer is it?

If we go with the logic that the Xbox Series X is the same size as two Nintendo GameCube's stacked... The GameCube originally launched for £129.99... The price of two GameCube's would be £259.98... Add inflation to that, let's just call it the price of another GC console £129.99 Put it all together and you get... £389.97 That's my guess and I'm sticking with it because there's a chance it will undercut the PS5 at that price or at least keep it competitive plus they can easily make it for less than that, or make a loss at the start and make it back on subsciptions.

I think it's somewhat fitting that Sucker Punch have effectively ushered us into the PS4 era and now are leading us out of it, assuming that 2020 is the consoles last year. I can still remember frantically trying to play through all of the other inFamous games on my PS3 before the PS4 came out with InFamous Second Son, the PS3 even broke a mere week before the PS4 came out and I bought a new PS3 Super Slim just so that I could get the series played. The games were just that enjoyable to me, so it made it all worthwhile. I'm hoping that Ghost of Tsushima will be just as enjoyable but in a different way and who knows... it might even get me properly back into playing more PS4 games. Just by how the game looks, I wouldn't be surprised if it ended up getting an enhanced PS5 port or if it just runs a lot better on the new system... heck, maybe it will be the game which will finally do in my launch model PS4, that would be sod's law. Anyway, looking forward to this one.

Thanks for the hunts @Glen-i @Ugh first aid and @RedShell I think we did really well tonight and it was a lot of fun. Cheers for the tips and for helping me get some of those G4 and G5 tickets, my defence has gone up a fair bit now it would seem. Those new Dual Blades are pretty handy as well, really noticing the difference in power. N-E Monster Hunter nights are now Fridays at 8PM then it would seem.

The Game Awards 2019 Roundup N-Europe's general roundup of the The Game Awards 2019 with a Nintendo focus is up on the main page now. Thanks to @Vileplume2000 for formatting the list of winners, I put that up as part of it, a bit of commentary about the Nintendo bits plus the relevant trailers. Oh, and I might have had to get in on that 'Is it an Xbox or two GameCube consoles stacked?' joke as well, just because. (incidentally, I do have two GameCube consoles stacked up on my desk right now, but they've been there long before the next Xbox was announced) I'm glad that Smash got an award because it surely deserves it, Reggie's speech was nice as well I thought. Also... even though I haven't played Death Stranding it was still really good to see Hideo Kojima take home at least one award, you could tell it means a lot to him. Was it worth saying up to watch the whole thing? Heck no but then I never learn, it was just nice to have seen it and be able to write a short piece about it for the site.
