Your rare and most prized gaming items
S.C.G replied to stallion's topic in General Gaming Discussion
Pretty rare if you have a working one in good condition, a lot of them have faults. -

Ocarina of Time Ended up posting a pic of this in the purchases thread as it was relevant but I thought I'd post it here too. -
I bought an Ocarina of Time replica about a decade ago, I don't play it as often as I used to but it's still awesome... : peace:

*shrugs* one single doth not make an album, there are some decent tracks on it, they are by no means my favourite band but I do enjoy listening to them sometimes when I feel like it.

I'm not sure what you mean by it being Ridiculously appropriate but I'm gonna take it as a complement :P and yeah the anger in You Oughta Know is fantastic. Yeah, I gave their new album a listen today, rather liking the new direction they've taken with some of the tracks, I think the album is more of a grower but there were definite moments where I really liked what I was hearing the first time around on a decent amount of tracks.

Same lol, I wish they would just give us that damn Phantasy Star Zero demo that Japan got now, at least then I'd have something to play on it. :P

Lolz I remember teh days of teh dole for me, I used to buy games with mine too, well some of it got spent on job related stuff but it's inevitable that it won't be used exclusively for that. :p Anyway... today this arrived in the post... Shall be giving it a listen in a few mins ^^ Also recently I've purchased... And 29 other games in the Popcap bundle thing, thanks to Raining for recommending it. Plus... Those will last me though being as I'll be playing more games on Steam than Live atm.

Thanks Paj all I can say though is I like what I like and I keep my mind open to trying something different every now and then, I'm sure there are many other people out there who also enjoy a variety of music - like yourself for instance - and I find it is the best way to enjoy music personally. ^^ Also Jagged Little Pill is indeed great - I have oft listened to it throughout when I was growing up due to my mum being a fan of Alanis Morisette, she would often put the album on in the car and of course back then - when I was younger - I loved it for the - very clearly pronounced - curse word in 'You Oughta Know' lol but of course now I've matured and I can appreciate that track and indeed the album for its rawness and intensity. Actually I haven't listened to the album fully for years... I might go and do so now after reminiscing about it.

Oh I've just thought of one... I've never pulled a 'sicky' before, been tempted mind but never actually done so.

: peace: Speaking of life affirming, that pretty much sums up Temple of the Dog, it's a really enjoyable album and it makes you feel better after listening to it I find.

A good few years back now I only listened to the radio, which pretty much introduced me to bands like Coldplay, - - Foo Fighters , - around the time of In Your Honor , but I then 'backtracked' their earlier (better) stuff - Kasier Chiefs , - the first album, when they were actually decent Imo- Keane , Muse, - who I still adore - Snow Patrol, - oh and Oxigen, I listened to When It's All Over We Still Have To Clear Up again recently and enjoyed it a lot more :P - anddd I think that was it at the time... But I then built on my music collection from there over the years and it has diversified somewhat thanks to someone I know who got me into bands like Biffy Clyro , Dandy Warhols , Editors , - I actually liked them before that but from then I bought their albums - Elbow , - I really love their music - Guillemots , - saw them live once, they were excellent - Interpol , - I have much love for them - Kings of Leon , - I really like their singing style though they have become more coherant recently - Maximo Park , - I'll always love their first album the most but each album is really enjoyable - MGMT , - really like - annnnd Silversun Pickups who are probably one of my favourite bands that I was introduced to. As for from just browsing here / developing my own musical interests, I have ended up picking up albums from a good few artists such as... Kate Bush , - I was curious at the time :p - Metallica , - always had been menaing to give them a listen - Modest Mouse , Pearl Jam , Portishead, - thanks Paj - Queens of the Stone Age, Radiohead , - Fake Plastic Trees = <3 Royksopp , - I'd heard of them before but it wasn't until recently picking up Junior that I backtracked - and last but by no means least Temple of the Dog Dan is to thank for that one, awesome album, was listening to it again only yesterday infact. ^^ So yeah, my personal taste for music has grown quite a bit over these past few years and for better or worse - depending on your personal stance - this is the music that I like, I'm always open every now and then to hearing something different though. Oh and as a sidenote, I'd heard of about six out of those eight bands that you mentioned Chair and even though I'm not familiar enough with them to comment on what they have in common, I have listened to a reasonable amount of Alanis Morissette and I do indeed like to a degree.

Lite-beards are win Imo, I used to go clean-shaven until like 3 or 4 years ago when I got fed up of looking really young without facial hair >.> apparently I still look younger than I am even with the small beard I have now - from the sides to just around the chin with none around the mouth area - which I'm greatful for but the beard definitely make me look at least closer to my age than without it.

As I've said before, I bought a Wii primarilly for Nintendo's games, most of which are quality and take a long time to make, inbetween those 'big' releases I'll take what I can get inbetween but there's no point in complaining about it - like a lot of people seem to have been doing for a while now - just enjoy their games for what they are when they are released... ... or bitch about it if you really want to I even admit to having complained a few times but personally I cba anymore, Nintendo will never change and as 'core' fans we should know this, recognise it and just enjoy what we can when it comes along, at least there are a few decent third party titles to enjoy inbetween as well as VC / Wiiware releases. : peace: Nice find on the article btw Daft, certainly an interesting read.

To be fair, that picture was probably the worst out of the ones in the link, I'm not a fan of hers personally but it's nice to see a mainstream female artist that doesn't seems to over obsess over self - image too much i.e she looks like she is a healthy weight and not stupidly skinny like a lot of them seem to be. --------------------------------------------------------------- Anyway... Maximo Park! I'm really loving their new album Quicken the Heart atm, at first listen I only 'liked' it, but after the second, third and fourth listens I now love it. It doesn't have the energy that A Certain Trigger had or the same kind of charm that Our Earthly Pleasures posessed but it's a decent middleground between the two and a very enjoyable listen, Let's Get Clinical is particularly awesome. ^^

I have to agree with you there Shorty, as nice as it is to play these classic Sega games again with achievements and online shizzle, it would be so much more of a big deal if they gave the titles a visual overhaul... Liek this... I know it wouldn't affect the gameplay but it'd just make playing the games again feel more superficially awesome.
-
Haha, I fucking said it would happen as well awesome news but... I guess this means no mega achievements for Sonic 3 & Knuckles :/ just achievements for the seperate games but still, the fact that it's getting released is awesome enough.

I noticed it about a week or so ago gotta love those references, also though did anyone notice the maybe unintentional reference? during the Weldar boss battle he says 'Have some Nuts 'n Bolts!' XD
