Interesting trailer analysis... http://www.gametrailers.com/videos/1bajnx/deep-down--working-title--pop-block--debut-trailer Certainly makes the game seem more real.

Thought it might have been GOW 3, with the GOW 4 demo out this week. Actually I guess GOW being the sequel to it makes sense.

Nintendo and Microsoft in light of the PS4 reveal (Th'rip)
Retro_Link replied to Hogge's topic in General Gaming Discussion
I can't see it being any more than DLC related tbh, and maybe earlier release dates for Microsoft. Also, Battlefield's no Call of Duty. Let EA and Microsoft have their fun. They seem quite suited. -
And where the feck is Yellow! and no Pikachu you don't count... plus you're largely white.

How can a map and off TV play be enough for you to buy a game you've already 100%d?
-
@Oxigen_Waste I'm confused. Especially as to how your opinion between these two best and favourite must be so different for your favourite to not even make your Top 10 best. I presume you must then be talking about the best technically made game?... the best achievement in video games, right? The game maybe with the best AI, or story maybe, or the best gameplay structure that makes you feel like you're really achieving something; and makes a game shine out over it's rivals... but yet ultimately may not be your favourite?

haha brilliant! I had the PC version of Tomb Raider 2... thankfully the textures were no where near that bad/busy... but that room was still as frustrating! :p especially as it's the first room in the game! That guy almost had it right as well, he should of jumped back across to the area he looked across at @ 4:57 I think... the area above where he'd just come from. But I guess he thought he'd just come from that direction and you have to climb up the side he's now on, as I think I remember thinking at some point. I stopped playing past the second or third level, of Venice.

Pirates!?... really. If true, then I the naval battles in ACIII were simply a test for things to come! What would they have done if people had hated them I wonder?... maybe that's why they had them as the E3 (was it?) demo, to get some feedback in advance.

What do you think folding is?... As far as I'm concerned (being a folder), it's not folding paper you've already used!!... that's fucking wrong! It's folding a few sheets of paper over on themselves to increase the thickness... in the same way scrunches would surely want to ball up multiple sheets to increase the mass.

Wait what?... this game was on Wii right, why wouldn't you have already played it if you wanted, or just buy the cheaper Wii version to play! Ports of Wii games are a bit much! :p

As good as the game looks, you can definitely tell it's a current-gen game. That's not to discredit it in any way, I just mean if this is what the God of War team can get out of the last of the PS3, then [having been surrounded by it for the last week] the PS4/next-gen is definitely worth it as it's a very clear step up! Good times ahead! Colour palette is a bit strange in this game though, GOW3 somehow seems more vibrant.

Nintendo and Microsoft in light of the PS4 reveal (Th'rip)
Retro_Link replied to Hogge's topic in General Gaming Discussion
Me too, I thought the conference and everything announced was fantastic. -
Is this a retail release for the Wii U?... because at the end of the trailers it doesn't say eShop, unlike PSN and XBLA for the other consoles.

Nintendo and Microsoft in light of the PS4 reveal (Th'rip)
Retro_Link replied to Hogge's topic in General Gaming Discussion
Honestly why anyone should care about seeing the PS4 form factor 9 months from launch I don't know; it's only going to change. It's something that can easily wait until E3. -
Already a thread for this @liger05, be sure to use the search.

The eyes look cool, but yeah, why have they changed the suit design pretty much back to how it was?
-
Yeah it seems you do all your hacking for this on the fly, continually looking at the environment for your next thing to interact with. Therefore in this case looking down at the GamePad for your next target would actually be more of a hindrance. I feel if they choose to implement the GamePad in this it will have to be for a different aspect of the gameplay. Hopefully its not just a map showing hacking targets further afield or something.

BBC on the other hand seem to think Brawn could be on his way out of Mercedes sooner or later. No Paddy Lowe for McLaren then this year, as they keep him away from development.

Getting a European/US release this Autumn.

How Often Do You Revisit Old Games?
Retro_Link replied to Hero-of-Time's topic in General Gaming Discussion
Honestly I think the only game I have ever played through again is Ocarina of Time!... and even then it would only be firing up a save partway through the game; well until Ocarina of Time 3D came along, then I played through it properly. I usually have another game lined up to play as I only play one at a time. However some more recent games are getting clever with their replay potential... like Heavy Rain and Infamous... games that allow you to make different choices. These I'm more likely to give a replay at some point, but still not instead of a new game.
