Ah well, I've heard a lot of excitement for it.
-
Which thankfully they rectified in the definitive edition, which bodes even better for this game... not that I'm even aware this game has any bosses. This game looks like all the great stealth in Deus Ex taken up a level.
-
Everyone was quite negative about the Deus Ex Human Revolution weren't they? until they actually played it.
-
I look forward to seeing console deals and then remember the £50 external hard drive.
-
Not gonna happen, awards don't make financial sense for N-Europe right now.

Hmm, true!Although I do think it's fine to review a game against others in the series, because of course a series has to evolve. I have no problem with that 8.8 score though. I don't think Twilight Princess is an industry wide 9+. But yeah, reviews are all personal opinions, which is why they should either been viewed as averages, or ignored really. EDIT: Has anyone watched Gamespot's video review? They mention a couple of times that the platforming levels are more stop-start, and less flowing than those in DKCR and from the footage of some of the levels it does seem like this could be the case. They say the vehicle levels and boss fights are much better.

Wasn't it that they were just helping out on Mario Kart too? Of course I'd love a new Retro Metroid, but I'm also conscious that maybe it might not be the best thing for the team... franchise fatigue and all. I can imagine it's something all teams like that experience, like the Gears team... and why people end up leaving and starting their own studios and projects. Therefore I think it might be best for everyone to either allow them to create their own game, or to give them a different Nintendo franchise.

Jeff Gerstmann... how can you not know the name of a reviewer you apparently loath so much?Even I know his name and I've just seen him on a few gametrailers features and youtube reviews etc... What's the precedent for him/them hating Nintendo? like I said earlier, Gamespot's 'controversial' reviews are actually in line with plenty of peoples opinions on those games after they've played them.

Gametrailers Review 9.1 http://www.gametrailers.com/reviews/hvth5z/donkey-kong-country--tropical-freeze-review Apparently there is content for getting all the collectibles they're not allowed to talk about yet!

Even if they announced NSMBU2? (with unlockable Bono and The Edge costumes just for lol's :p)

Could you turn off the Smash Ball in Brawl? I can't remember. I hope you can in this, for some reason I didn't really like the addition of final smashes.

Rayman Legends found uses for the Gamepad. No one decided not to play the original DKCR because they couldn't swap the game into their lap, off-screen play is largely an unnecessary convenience. If you're going to tell people they need a Gamepad and charge then £80 for it, then it might be nice if effectively a first party title such as this utilised it, instead of actually being the first to switch it off. But yes, I agree a great game is a great game and shouldn't be judged on the Gamepad and the game probably wasn't anyway. It would be fair to knock off a point for the visuals looking largely like a Wii game, and off the gameplay if it does nothing new. Arguably the sequel should build on the original (more animal companions was a noticeable admission) so you could mark it down on that. I also think the game is shorter the the original? But anyway I'm just guessing at things, it'll be interesting to see the review if that score is true.

But F-Zero and Metroid would actually sell me a Wii U (+1 sale)... DKCTF doesn't do that. I love the look of it but I don't feel I need to have it. If I already had a Wii U I'd buy it. More people with a SNES or Wii may have bought DK, but I wonder how many people bought a SNES or Wii for DK. At this point I think Metroid and F-Zero stand a greater chance of attaching people to the console, and then they can pick up DK.

Well yes ok. Pedantic. But generally characters are in groups of Short, Medium and Tall characters. I'm just saying I was surprised to see Little Mac as the shortest. But ok.

My eyes actually lit up when I saw a thread bump for this game! Nice to be excited about something.

In hindsight I actually think their 'controversial' review scores haven't been to bad... Personally, I probably would give Mario Sunshine an 8, and Twilight Princess an 8.8 as both are probably my least favorite 3D Mario and Zelda's. I'd call their Skyward Sword score of 7.5 ridiculous, as it's more like a 9.5 for me... but a lot of people seem to have issues with that game so maybe it's about right for the average opinion? I hope this score is an exaggeration though, I can't see how it can be a lot worse than the original DKCR... unless they're marking it down because it doesn't really do anything new, or make use of the Gamepad which it should really be doing.

Did anyone else actually realise Little Mac was this... little? :p I always presumed he was just 'little' against his boxing opposition, but he's actually tiny, which is strange because in that case shouldn't his trainer be bigger than him too?

You are the hottest female.

I was quite surprised we got Kirby's Epic Yarn and Kirby Wii quite close together tbh. But then there was a Kirby anniversary to celebrate, and the Wii was in a position where it really could afford to do what it wanted. I just meant for the Wii U it seems a very strange choice, even if and I'm sure it will, play differently to Yoshi's Island. Like I said in General Gaming, I'd even take an eShop F-Zero X 2 at this point! N64 graphics and everything, give it to a smaller team to do, like they have people doing these NES Remix's. Give it 30 player online and it would be incredible :p

Yeah that was good to read about De Silvestro, I'm really hoping it goes to plan and she gets plenty of experience in the run up to 2015. I'm not sure I particularly like the Martini livery, I think it can look a bit hit and miss... I think it's the largely white cars I don't like. It would be strange to see Williams without any blue on it, I'd like them to keep some... I wonder if we'll see it in Bahrain?
