I just think it's so random, what even is it? It's described as 'The negative zone' but it's not a reference to anything in particular, it's just made up for Smash. Everyone else has a Final Smash move that's character driven don't they? Maybe his could be a vacuum with a suction zone that you have to try and stay out of, but if you get caught in it for a couple of seconds you are sucked in and take damage inside the hoover bag until the smash ends. Or if you manage to suck up all 3 opponents the bag explodes and your opponents take extra damage.

Oh ok sorry I misunderstood that as Third Person 2D on the TV and First Person to look around on the gamepad, kinda like Other:M, but the whole game.

I can't see that as being anything other than extremely distracting/disorientating? Surely you would just end up playing it exclusively in which ever view you prefer?... well I would want to anyway. I'd be first person all the way. Also I think it's extremely difficult to come up with level design that works for both views simultaneously. The 3D view of 2D platform environments could end up looking extremely dull.

Decent watch as a discussion topic... It's true Rocksteady would be an awesome developer for Metroid! Especially to develop that third person, Dead Space style Metroid game. But yeah, although there actually have been First person single player only story games lately (the bloke who mentions them implies there haven't), with Bioshock and Far Cry 3... another First Person Metroid does seem quite unlikely just from the vibes you get from Nintendo atm. Although especially on PC, First Person single player games seem to be the in thing, in many genre's, be they adventure, horror, puzzle, or point and click story.

With you being such a fan of the original trilogy, do you mind the levels being a bit more stop start/waiting for things to happen in front of you, in this?

Mario Tennis 64 was just the best game!! had SO much fun with that. God I wish I'd hadn't sold the vast majority of my N64 games!! The only two classics I kept were Ocarina of Time and Goldeneye. At some point I think I'm going to look to buy back: Diddy Kong Racing Mario 64 Banjo Kazooie F-Zero X Mario Tennis and maybe Beetle Adventure Racing along with maybe a few I didn't get first time around like: Paper Mario Mario Golf and Pilotwings 64 oh and Snowboard Kids was a great rental, maybe that too.

I still think I'd like to play it, but maybe the PS3 version would do now. I'm also wondering if maybe I should play Dishonored instead. Thief will no doubt be on Plus before the end of the year anyway so that's probably the way to go.

If only Nintendo would get the ruddy Virtual Console sorted, it would be so much easier. I'm not sure many people have access to all their old consoles and even less their old games collections any more. But yeah, for those that do.

I need to pick myself up one of those newfangled Wii Gamepad accessories first but I will when I do.

@jayseven It's a 13 episode series, with new characters and a new contained story arc (like when Heroes first started, they idea was for each series to be it's own story with new characters). They've said they won't rule out old characters making appearances, but personally, after how badly they screwed those great first series characters up, I think they should keep them away. And let's be honest, I'm not sure many of them would want to re-associate themselves with the show. Series 1 was SO good at the time, the show definitely has potential so I'll give the reboot a look. But likewise Series 2-4 were just the worst, I hope they've learnt a lot from it.

If it was kept to just Nintendo only, it might struggle for content until Mario Kart. And there in lie's the problem because without games to talk about, we'd have to formulate discussion topics which would most likely be a long the lines of... why aren't there any games? I'm not sure many people tuning in to a podcast would want to hear one that's a bit repetitive and negative week in week out Unless we talk about retro Nintendo stuff, but that should really just be a section. I think that was probably the idea to opening it up to whatever people might be playing, because there's a lot of gaming to be had with Indie, PC and Other Console games at the moment. Better to talk games, than moan about Nintendo.

Nintendo could certainly thank Ubisoft for their support by throwing him in there, but I dunno, I imagine he'd be quite a punchy character, and Little Mac and the potentially newly revamped Diddy could fulfill those roles.

Probably just because Nintendo had a finger throwing tech demo sitting there that they needed a character skin for :p

hahaha I used to love that noise of the air rushing past you at hyper speed when you were up in the air, letting you know you were right on the limit of loosing gravity to the track and just flying off :p Oh I love you F-Zero X

That music! I just can't get over how good the characters look in this, the level of expression and animation is incredible
