I'm happy with all the Dick Dastardly love. I've got a Muttley t-shirt that I hold very close to my heart. "MUTTTTLEEEEEY....DOOOO SOMEEEEETHING!" "fajawajaararara *mutters*"

There are three that I think are absolutely awesome villains. All very iconic in their own ways. The Terminator just pipped the T-1000 to third place. Also, kudos on those who selected T-Bag from Prison Break. So well written and awesome.

How is the weight loss going, suckers? Getting back into this gym rhythm is tiring and painful stuff! I was there two days ago doing some leg-work (leg raises, leg presses) and my legs are still feeling a bit stiff, even today. Also, my bum is pretty sore from some of the leg presses. No pain, no gain! In addition to that, I did some bicep and tricep work yesterday. My triceps are aching quite a bit today, in particular. So, I'm in a world of hurt. I think I'm in pretty decent shape at the moment, although (by far) the area which is not getting attention is my midsection. So, my core. It's definitely the area I'm finding it harder to strength. What sort of exercises do you guys and girls do for a good core or abs workout?

Console Wars. You thought World War II was bad.

The Megadrive is one of my favourite consoles. But, I would have to say that I was never a huuuuge fan of the Sonic games. One of the defining Mega Drive games for me was Streets of Rage. Enjoyed that so very much.

Ya, I understood that. About how others are noticing how you're feeling.

I read all of that, Gizmo. I made a cup of tea, then sat down and read it all. I think I read the longer post before, hehe, but I read it again. My reaction: God, being a teenager is so strange, confusing, yet exciting. Why do you care so much for her? Well, part of it is probably down to the whole thrill of the chase. It's exciting when you're getting close to a girl, but you're not sure how it's going to turn out. It can drag on for months and months, and you still feel like you're not getting any closer. You're probably doing all the right things. Spending time with her, talking, playing and messing around. Keep doing the good things, and eventually she'll see what it'll be like being with you. If she likes all that stuff and spending time with you, she may want to take things further. Who knows? Play eet cool, boy. As for the how does one love and deem himself worthy of love? Be yourself. Be true to yourself, and be brave. I don't think love is something you can go looking for. You can't buy a map and go out with a shovel and find it. That's exhumation. I've noticed that pretty much every girl I've ever had deeper feelings for or every thought I had a chance with, they've all come from friendships. I remember I said to a very good friend in the past that I think a relationship is the best kind of friendship, and that being a friend is at the core of it. Why I think so many relationships fail is being that core, or that friendship is lost. There's no one thing you can do to get others to love you. I agree with what Return to Castle NightWolfenstein says. The other person always sees things in you that you can't see yourself. The downside of this is that they can see your flaws too, haha.

I don't think I've ever voted in these games. However, I love both of these songs, but I love Everlong as more than a song. It's just so beautiful, in every possible way. "Breathe out, so I can breathe you in. Hold you in." It's romantic. I'm a huge fan of the Foo Fighters, and this song is my favourite of theirs. Fake Plastic Trees is wonderful, and I love everything about that song. You know, it's probably in my top three Radiohead songs. But, Everlong is just way beyond everything else I've ever listened to. Everlong - Actually, it's hardly a contest. A strong contender for my favourite song of all time, by anyone.

That's brilliant. Ramar, your one made me chuckle, too. Seriously, there's some great ideas here. Very different to what most people would normally wear, I bet.

Wow, she is pretty hot. I watched the women's game between Germany and Norway yesterday. One thing I've always been a bit put off by in the women's game is the pace of the game, but I think it's improving all the time. The technical ability of the players just seems to be getting better and better as well, and I found the game very enjoyable to watch. It was also quite an aggressive game, but in the best possible way. Not aggressive in the sense of hacking down players, but aggressive as in players were closed down quickly, hassled on the ball, and some great tackles and interceptions were made. It wasn't a stop start game at all. Infact, I was very surprised at that.

Dress yourself up in a coat made of hay, and wear a Jude law mask. Seriously, nobody else will be doing the same! Platty, that Hello,Goodbye one had me in stitches. Well done.

I'm not as well traveled as many of you guys. I've lived in Wales and England for the majority of my life. Never been to Ireland or Scotland, but I want to, one of these days. I visited Pakistan twice, although the last time was nearly a decade ago. I've also been to Saudi Arabia, which was also around the same time period. More recently, I've been to France and Belgium, which is my only experience of Europe beyond the UK. I've never really had the money or drive for traveling, but I think I'd like to visit some places as I get older and richer (hopefully, haha). Not sure where to start, heh.

If it's done by a friend or somebody I know, then I wouldn't be too bothered by it. I can't say I'm that bothered by them really. But, like Goafer says, if I was working at a place like McDonalds and then got a random prank phone-call, it probably wouldn't be taken in the same way. I mean, you're working at place which you probably don't enjoy all that much, you're stressed out and tired, so it's the last thing you want, maybe? Although, it could have the adverse effect where it actually turns out to be the highlight of your day, or makes you chuckle. But, it would need to be a good prank phone call in that sense. There was one phone-call which was done by two good friends of mine about two years ago. Basically, I was in a lecture, and as soon as I got out of there I realised that I had a voicemail message on my phone. So, I promptly checked to see what it was, or who it was from. I couldn't make it out at all first time around, but the second time of listening I made out a few words. It said along the lines of "hi, my name is Kim and I'm calling from ____ sexual health clinic. Somebody who you have recently had sexual contact with has tested positive for a sexually transmitted disease. Please call us on ____." Now, initially, I thought "what the fuck?! I haven't had sex in months (as I was single at the time)" and I was confused. But then, I was thinking "oh no, its on the phone, so it must be true!" I sat on the bus on the way back to my house, with a friend next to me, and he was chatting about something random. The whole time, I didn't say a word as I was thinking "whaaaaat?!" My face was as white as a sheet. Then, I listened to it again, and thought...I bet its Emma and Danielle! So, I rang one of them, they were both together and much laughter ensured. It probably sounds like a cruel joke to play on somebody. But, we have a good kind of friendship, and we used to make a lot of jokes about one another's sex lives. And, with me being single, I was being linked with different girls and had many funny stories, so they were just playing off that. I mean, I knew in myself that it was a strange phone call and couldn't be true, but they had me going there for a second. :p Damn, this turned out longer than I thought it would be. In essence, this prank was funny for us because there was a context there, I think. If they'd have done it to someone else, for example, it would've probably caused them some distress or upset.

Your Favourite Place...In The Wooooorld

Hmm, instead of having the "videogames are childish" comments, we just have the "videogames are violent and pointless" ones. Sometimes "videogames are violent, pointless and childish." One mindset replaced with another! Damn. I must say, I'm a much, much bigger fan of the SNES than I was the NES. And, I'm a much bigger fan of the N64 than I was the SNES. It's so very hard to escape nostalgia with these sorts of things. I mean, imagine if you've never played games before, and you're given a 360 and a NES. One is decades old, with simple gameplay mechanics and very dated visuals. The other boasts the latest technology, online gaming, and so forth. However, it's very hard to actually judge something that is so old without having an experience of it yourself. To new gamers, the N64 features clunky, block-like graphics, but to many of us seeing Hyrule Field for the first time in 3D is one of the most beautiful experiences we can remember. You've got to think back to the context and to the time when these systems were at the top, and I guess on the impact that they've had on many. For those reasons, that's probably why the NES and Playstation 2 were rated so highly in that list.

Your Favourite Place...In The Wooooorld
Fierce_LiNk replied to Fierce_LiNk's topic in General Chit Chat
Haha, that is very spooky! Wow, we have the same special place, we're like brothers! I guess you can understand in some sense how the place is likeable, or how you can have affection for it. I was afraid people would say "dude, its a train station!" That does look very sweet. I've got a love for the sun, when it rises and when it sets, especially with a nice city backdrop to it. Although, I don't have much experience of Waterloo Bridge, since I haven't spent too much time in London. -
Languages - Do you Triumph or Faiiiil?
Fierce_LiNk replied to Fierce_LiNk's topic in General Chit Chat
That mindset which you point out does annoy me, too. A lot of people would probably be happy if the whole world did just speak one language, or if there was one culture, and not too many of these people are in a hurry to visit different places. Maybe for a holiday or something, and then they use English to ask for directions to the bar, heh. I guess we are quite lucky in the respect that English is widely spoken, or used widely in music and films. So, in that sense, unless people actually want to live or visit outside of the UK, there just isn't a need for them to learn an additional language. It's a shame as language is a way to connect to different people, or to begin to connect to their culture. I might be wrong, but I think a lot of people in Britain are quite apprehensive about doing that, and would rather keep themselves to themselves? Maybe, but then its a generalisation, not everyone would be like that. -
Languages - Do you Triumph or Faiiiil?
Fierce_LiNk replied to Fierce_LiNk's topic in General Chit Chat
Course it has, sucker. Although, I did have a very good Dutch friend before that, but the language seemed too strange for me to actually speak. But, seeing as I may be going there quite a bit, and being around her family a lot when I am there, I probably should make more of an effort to learn. I feel a bit of a tart sitting there, smiling and nodding, and speaking using basic but broken phrases. Whoa dude, you're learning Welsh? Crazy bitch. I wanted to learn Hieroglyphics, but when I was younger I didn't understand how Egyptians actually communicated thrown spoken language. I thought you'd speak what you saw. So..."foot, hand, fish, fish." It didn't make sense in my head! -
I've had this thread on my mind for the last few days, but I've only put my typing fingers to good use and decided to create it. There are many beautiful places on Good Ol' Planet Earth. Granted, there are some really awful places too, for various reasons, but there are many places which can only be marveled at for their beauty. What would you consider to be your favourite place in the world? When you think of this place, do you have a memory attached to it, or do you just like thinking about it? It could be anywhere: a city, a small town, a special place that reminds you of a time, or something else. I guess mine is quite sentimental, and it is pretty silly, but one of my favourite places in the world is St. Pancras International, which I doubt that many people from here have been to. I like this place for quite a few reasons. When I'm traveling to this place, or physically there, I get butterflies in my stomach, because I know I'm visiting Ine. It's like the excitement before a big game. Not only that, but I love looking up and seeing the high-ceiling. The only way to describe this place would be like a long corridor type style, and it does seem quite narrow. But, I like that. It also reminds me of that scene at the end of Love Actually, where people are greeting each other at Heathrow Airport. I walk down this corridor, and I see people smiling at the crowd, and in my head I try to work out who is waiting for who, or who is smiling at who. I guess it's one of these things you have to see for yourself, but it's very heartwarming to see these people being reunited with their loved ones. There is also another place that I hold close to my heart: More specifically, Sam's Cafe is where I usually meet the female. So, when I see that big yellow sign, it's kinda like seeing the finishing line. Also, about 10 feet or so away from that place, there is a square imprinted onto the floor. A year ago, a piano was placed above that square, one of these pianos that plays by itself. Well, I stood next to that piano, listening and watching, with various Belgium people coming up to me and speaking French and Dutch. I think I just turned to them and said "c'est magique!" A few minutes later, I turned around, and it was the first time I saw her with my own eyes. So, whenever I'm at this place, I think back to that. I always look over, give it a quick glance to see if that piano is there. It was only there for a short time, but I still hear the music in my head, and it still feels like that first time over and over again. It's kinda like a 2 in 1 deal there, haha. Although, with one comes the other. Sadly, after I've seen these places at the beginning of a journey, I'm soon back there again, but leaving. On the way home. Seeing St. Pancras again after being away is such a strange thing, but it always seems welcoming, like an old friend. I guess it is a very important part of my life now. Over to you.

*gasp* A New Challenger Approaches. You know, I don't know of a single other person in the world who owns the game. I might have to look at it now, after all this aggressive advertising!

Cole does look promising, but as you say, it's a bit too early for him, I feel. But, the only way that players will get better is through experience, so Capello will probably use him as a sub, or in friendlies. It was a bit of a shame he didn't come on in that friendly a bit earlier. To be honest, the only striker who is guaranteed a starting place is Wayne Rooney. The big question seems to be who can partner him up-front. What I think is keeping Heskey in the starting line-up is that he has formed quite a nice little partnership there. Defoe has played a few second halves with him, Carlton Cole has had very few opportunities, and Crouch has played here and there. So, there's really four players going for the same spot. That's a lot of competition.

*braces himself for chaos* It's late, but two VC games I would suggest would be Sim City (SNES) and Golden Axe (Megadrive). Two games that I loved as a kid, and they're my only two purchases so far on the Wii. I need more points. But, they're good games. Worth trying at some point in your lifetime, although they are criminally outdated now.

It's probably an idea that seems quite funny when you're younger, but when you get a bit older you know you're just making someone else feel a bit crap. I did make a call to my brother recently, pretended I was an old Iranian man, and asking for really bizarre things on a pizza. It was ok, because he saw the funny side, and I needed to speak to him anyway. I usually think prank calls are funnier if you know the person on the other end of the line, but I guess that's debatable. That said, I've probably made about...two in my entire lifetime, and they were both to my brother, haha.

If only more women took on this approach. The world would be a happier and hornier place. Mmm. Bliss. My friend had this problem recently. His girlfriend kept saying she loved him, but he wasn't sure he felt the same. So, the first time he said "Ok." The second time, I'm pretty sure it just led to sex, taking the Molly approach. In the end, he said he loved her, too. Although, he does actually feel that way, so it's not a lie. Wooo! What would I do? Knowing me, I'd be terrified of making the woman feel bad, and I'd say it back. Unless I actually didn't like the woman much at all. In which case, I'd try to be gracious and say "thanks."
