  1. In an ideal world, I'd give it a muuuuuch larger battery life. It's pretty poor at the moment. It loses part of the appeal for me when you've got to plug it in, I hate having trailing wires. My favourite all time controller is, bizarrely, the Wiimote and nunchuk. For some reason, it just molded into my hands and felt comfortable as hell. I love that feeling of being able to separate my hands. Only thing I would do that for is, somehow, make it wireless between the Nunchuk and Mote. True perfection. The GamePad itself is mostly great. It just needs more clever uses of implementation.
  2. Now THAT is a redesign. Looks much lighter, more aesthetic, beautiful. Wow, such beauty, so screen, much care.
  3. Easy. A new IP, hands down. I love F Zero, but have already experienced it on the SNES, N64 and GameCube. I want to experience something new and exciting that gives me the same feeling as I got the first time I played F Zero X. A new adventure game or a new Zelda? Right now, new adventure game. Xenoblade was new to me, enjoyed it a billion times more than Skyward Sword. Why do we need to see certain games on every system? Why does there HAVE to be a Mario Kart on every system? Why can't we have Mario do an RPG for example or a full-fledged adventure game rather than a platformer? There's more to life than just making money. Games are meant to be an art form, a form of entertainment. There's nothing entertaining about playing the same few series of games over and over again. Nintendo, for me right now, are dull. As for the original point: We haven't even got F Zero, Wave Race or ExciteBike at the moment anyway, nevermind new games.
  4. I agree and disagree at the same time, and I'm going to state why. I disagree because, deep down, Nintendo fans want new franchises. But, we also know that Nintendo won't give them to us. So, the best we can hope for (in this current situation) is...another Metroid or another F-Zero, like you say. We know Nintendo won't give us a new science-fiction title or a horror, or a new style racer. Therefore, the most we can hope for is something that isn't one of Mario, Zelda, Donkey Kong, Kirby, Mario Kart. Which leaves the likes of Starfox, F Zero, Metroid. Making the most of a bad/tight situation is how I'd put it.
  5. Bayonetta's moveset would be a bit too similar to Zero Suit Samus, I reckon. Especially as they'd move and play very similarly. I think there's only room for one of the two.
  6. I don't like it, sorry. The problem that a lot of people have with the GamePad is that its main features aren't being used enough or aren't being used innovatively. For example, if Nintendo can't think of truly creative ways to use the screen themselves, then how are third parties meant to fare? The best use of the screen is still with ZombiU, a launch title by Ubisoft. When Ubisoft are using your main features on a console that you designed better than you are, you know you fucked up. Your design doesn't solve anything, imo. You've also taken out the sensor bar which can be used with the screen to carry on playing Wii games. A nice little feature, I'd keep it. I'd also keep the TV remote functionality, because again, it's a nifty little feature. Don't like the handles either. Having analogue shoulder buttons is a massive yes from me, though. That's the ONLY thing I would change with the original design. Other than that, you'd have to think about getting rid of the screen, which creates huge problems in itself.
  7. We're going to have to agree to disagree, because I can't honestly look at their offerings during E3 and say that it was packed. It was a decent showing, nothing more. Considering it was meant to be the E3 where Nintendo fully show-case what the first full year of the Wii U would be like, it wasn't anything more than decent. By some margin, this E3 has to be much better, otherwise they're going to really struggle.
  8. That's a bit of a defeatist way of going about it. What about actually using games like Metroid to entice back the core gamers that Nintendo have lost? It may not sell well as much as New Super Mario Bros. but there is still an audience out there who want to play these games. Other M reportedly sold about 1.2million units. Metroid Prime about 2.82. Prime 2 about 1.3 Prime 3 about 1.7 Super Metroid about 1.4 Metroid Fusion 1.2 For something that apparently doesn't sell, I wouldn't call those bad figures at all. There is clearly a market out there. Like I said, it would go some way to winning back the core gamer because Nintendo have lost them.
  9. O Rly? I know what it means, brah, I'm just fucking around. I know of the power of the blue shell, from many, many experiences. *shudders* Still, I want one where the person launches the blue shell, cackles as they over-take the corpse of the person who got blue-shelled, and then take first. Or, I'll take Nando's option.
  10. Haha, true. I meant looking down at screens constantly. I struggle to do it for long periods of time, get headaches, etc.
  11. But why would a new Metroid be out of the question, I just don't get that either? It's a long-running Nintendo franchise and certainly has a place with the core gamers. A Metroid game is exactly the sort of thing that the Wii U needs. Yes, I agree witht he saturation, but that's why I have a Nintendo console. They're meant to be the ones who provide the extra-ordinary. They're just as much of a problem as Microsoft and Sony, perhaps more so.
  12. Second is best? How very apt. Nice to see that Nintendo are establishing themselves as a part of the console race, again. :p T-shirt looks nice, but not touching it because of that slogan. Only a loser goes around being proud of being second. I want the opposite of that t-shirt, one where the blue shells crushes its enemies.
  13. I really thought Sonic was back on form after Colours. Colours was looooovely. Such a shame this doesn't seem to be a patch on it. Even at the reduced prices, I'm not tempted by it.
  14. About a decade ago, Nintendo might have given us that. :p These days, nah.
  15. Nah, that won't happen. Do you even handheld? I don't even handheld. Not a fan of them unfortunately. I love playing on a huuuuuuge screen. I don't like having to look down constantly.
  16. Here lies the problem. Why is it unrealistic in the first place to expect new IPs? I don't get that logic at all. Nintendo's consoles and Nintendo pride themselves on variation. At the moment, the variation seems to be "2D platformer with Mario, 3D platformer with Mario, platformer with Donkey Kong, 2D Platformer with Luigi instead of Mario." I love platformers as much as the next person, but it was obvious even at the end of the Wii's lifecycle that the console had enough platformers. The sensible money would be to give us something different for the next system. Instead, Nintendo seemingly stuck to "what they're good at" and gave us...more platformers. People had a right to be annoyed.
  17. Alright brahs, you've given me something to think about. I'm going to wait until E3 comes before I make my mind up with what to do. I think my problem is that I'm sick of solely only playing Mario titles on a Nintendo system and watered down third-party games...if they turn up at all. I got Injustice as a gift and the Wii U version doesn't even have the Man of Steel costume packs...fucking scandalous. Little things like that piss me off. No Alien Isolation for Wii U is the final straw. So yeah, E3. Cheers for the help, people. Tempted to get the PS3 first, then save up for a PS4. By the time that happens, the backlog of PS4 games should be bigger and the system should be cheaper.
  18. To an extent, yes. But, there needs to be some sort of line, and I just hope we're not crossing it. Although, there seems to be a lot of talk over United officials staying over in Germany to talk about a deal with Toni Kroos. That is the only thing I think David Moyes can mean, and in that case I think it would be done with the right people. The transfer won't happen, because Kroos isn't stupid and he'll know that it is far easier to get silverware, game-time and recognition playing in Munich than in Manchester. He's going nowhere.
  19. Yeah, you've missed the point. :p (or, you've rather conveniently "chosen" to miss it by not quoting the rest of my post) I think we're past the point now where Nintendo fans are wowed purely by Mario, Zelda, Donkey Kong (and, to a lesser extent, Kirby). There's nothing new. You illustrated your points beautifully, if accidentally, as I pointed out how your first post differed from your final line-up roster at E3. They basically showed us a lot of stuff that we already knew existed. Coupled with "new" things that rather looked like the old things, things that we have already explained. There's a partial sense of irony with the Wii U in the sense that even with a new controller and (apparently) "new" style of play, we're still playing the same old games. Again, where's the new stuff?
  20. I was just about to post and say, "no, he means that they'll join because they're Manchester United. Just like when Suarez joined and Sturridge joined because Liverpool are Liverpool." But then, just read this: From BBC Sport It doesn't look good, unless the club have actually got permission from the recipient team to speak to players...which does happen. In which case, that wouldn't be tapping up. But, if they're meeting up, say, in bars or hotels without the other club's prior knowledge, that isn't good. I can only hope it's the first one.
  21. To an extent, you're right. Except that Sakurai has absolutely rammed Smash Bros. with content. The upgrade that Brawl got from Melee is astounding, as way the upgrade from the original Smash Bros to Melee. If you're going to do another edition in a games series, that is how you do it. The amount of stuff you could do or collect in Brawl was perhaps too much at times, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. By comparison, Mario Kart is looking barebones. In comparison to Brawl, Mario Kart Wii was almost the bare minimum.
  22. Hmm, so it isn't likely that Sony will end up dropping PlaystationPlus support for the PS3 anytime soon? What about game releases? I'm tempted. I have to admit...there's only so much Mario a man can take. Bit bored of Nintendo right now.
  23. That's the last thing Nintendo need. Surely that'll just cannibalise Wario's market (which isn't huge to begin with) since this will either be a platformer or a mini-game/Wario-Ware style game. If there's one thing Nintendo don't need on their system, it'll be another platformer. Orrrrr, maybe Waluigi can fill that hole and be part of some sort of Killer IP FPS that we are all waiting for. (lol) Edit: Ine has just pointed out to me that I can't read. I thought you meant Waluigi having his OWN game, not being in Wario's. I feel stupid now. As you were.
  24. It's strange. I was looking forward to Mario Kart 8 immensely...right up until the Smash Bros. Direct yesterday. All the details, information about characters, weapons, custom move-sets, single player modes, online, etc. Mario Kart actually looks pretty boring in comparison. Besides the shiny graphics, this is really the same old Mario Kart underneath, isn't it? Not sure how I feel about that.
  25. How long is Plus going to keep going for, though? I'd feel a bit silly about getting a PS3 now, as it's at the end of its lifecycle. I kinda want the PS4 because...it'll have new, exciting, graphically impressive games. I've got a Wii U, and power-wise the PS3 is close to it. So, there won't be that instant-wow, I guess.
