The Legend of Zelda:Twilight Princess
Fierce_LiNk replied to Hero-of-Time's topic in Nintendo Gaming
I think it nailed the atmosphere really well and in the right places. I loved that whole section with this music: Audio The soundtrack was another strength. It contained samples or links with the previous games, but it managed to make it special in itself. It's a really good soundtrack, perhaps only surpassed by Xenoblade on a Nintendo console. It's a good title that compliments something like the Wind Waker well. You don't want two identical games and they're anything but the same, definitely in terms of style and visuals. I'd rather play this game in HD form on the WiiU than have it condensed on the 3DS. I can't see this particular type of game looking good on a handheld and I think Nintendo fans deserve to see it in HD. -
The Legend of Zelda:Twilight Princess

I loved the scope of the game at the time. To me, it did a lot of things right, but there are definite areas for improvement. The one area that I will argue to the death where it excelled was in terms of its dungeon design and bosses. It contains the best of both of these in the entire series. I was just speaking about it yesterday, but it wasn't until I was halfway through the Arbiter's Grounds that I realised it was a dungeon. Same with Snowpeak Ruins. They both redefined what a "dungeon" was. I'm hoping that this gets explored further in the future, because there's huge potential there to be make an interesting game. Finally, it introduced us to probably my favourite Zelda companion: Midna. That twist at the end with the tear. I've got something in my eye, brah. -
It was a great final. Juve started off badly and a few of their players didn't keep their cool, but they eased themselves into the game and deserved their goal. Barcelona play a particular style of football and they are technically brilliant. However, I'd argue that Juve were perhaps the better team in the second half, or at least for large parts of it. However, we must also remember that they were clearly denied a blatant penalty when the score was 1-1. Barcelona pretty much went up the field and scored, I don't think Juve really fully recovered after that. It was a definite injustice.

Glad you're enjoying it, @dan\-likes\-trees. What's your PS addy? I still don't really understand what I'm doing in Gwent but I won my very first match earlier. Hurrrrrah! It is fun, I'd happily buy it as it's own standalone game, heh.

What should I play this weekend?
Fierce_LiNk replied to Happenstance's topic in General Gaming Discussion
You've just played something that is huge and expansive, so I'd probably go for something a bit more linear. I'd go for Dead Space, as that's probably the one that interests me most from that list. -
I don't know if you can put them on your wall, as I've never done it. I posted them on here by putting them onto a usb stick and then uploading them to an image host.

There's still the other games I didn't mention in the original post, for length and time purposes. Drive Club, inFAMOUS and The Order, for example. Plus all of the PS+ stuff (I don't really know what's exclusive and what isn't...all I really care about is if I can play that stuff) One thing I'm loving is all of this Photo Mode and Share button stuff. I loved being able to take photos in DriveClub and it was a real hoot in inFAMOUS. I should've taken some in The Last of Us but I got sucked into the game. I think I'll take more on my second run through. Being able to record videos and photos is brilliant, imo. I've taken a shitload of photos.

The Champions League Final tonight, folksss. I'm hoping for a Juve win. Vidal.

I wonder if it's worth creating a new thread entirely for Dark Souls III now. Here are some apparently leaked screen shots of the game.

The game already looks fantastic, so I really wonder if it's worth showing. I already know I'm getting it, so I'd rather the time was spent on something new or something we haven't seen a lot of already.

What brilliant news. I missed out on these games, so I'm delighted to be able to play them. Although, I got confused at the release date. I assumed it was an American date and thought whaaaaaaaaaaat at it being released next month. Waiting until October will be difficult, aha.

Swweeeeet. I'll be picking this up on release. Beta was such a blast. Couldn't put it down. Can see myself playing for little bursts here and there.

I do want to play this, but it feels like it's taking foreeeeeever for it all to come out. Glad I didn't start it already as this would have killed me.

I've just finished watching this. I did enjoy it. But, like @Shorty, we didn't realise it was the final episode until we saw that there were no more left to view. Booooo. Did laugh in quite a lot of places, just wish that there was more of this. It's easier viewing than Breaking Bad, although I'm wondering if it is a bit too tame.

@Eenuh is just starting The Unfinished Swan. Trying to not look at the screen as I have work to do and I don't want to see spoilers. Game looks nice, though. Very unusual.

The N64 is getting mentioned a lot because that's possibly the time that many fans here agree that Nintendo were at their creative best. I've been gaming aaaaaages before the N64, as have many on here. I had a Commodore64, a Master System, a MegaDrive and the SNES all before the N64. I went back for the NES a few years later down the line. Well, here's the kicker: If we're under the assumption that Nintendo's games are the best out there, then we should have high expectations, right? I think the expectations are reasonable, tbh. They've set the bar high, but I think they're getting by at the moment based on their past successes. They're essentially a step above Liverpool of the gaming world. They're great, the fans think they're great, but they're not as great as the fans make them out to be. Or, at least, they're not at the moment. Occasionally they put in a big performance here and there.

So, looks like Blatter is being investigated by the US as part of the corruption case. God, football is in a right state.

I can't believe it! I was driving home and heard that a hasty conference had been arranged, but I did not see this coming. He's clearly involved in some of this shite. He's balls deep in it. Nothing screams, "I'm GUILTY!" louder than resigning days after you were elected. I nominate @Ramar for Presidency.

I would shit myself if there's some kind of sequel to either Bloodborne or a game with its combat. I can't remember the last time I felt like an absolute monster in a game.
-
In fairness, I didn't mention inFAMOUS, The Order and DriveClub plus ANY PSN stuff apart from Resogun (as it was the first game I owned) mainly because I was worried the long post would have become even longer. It's big enough as it is.

I've got my final stretch at work before we break up for the summer. In about two weeks, I'll be ready to play this game a bit more. Right now, I'm on The Witcher. I WILL be back on this, but it won't be til then.
