That's just how he normally plays, tbh. One of the best goalkeepers I've ever seen. He's the reason we didn't get relegated last season and why we got top four year before. So disappointed in Spain. This is a very England-esque performance.

Belgium were great yesterday. They looked fantastic in the first half and should have been four or five up by then. They went through a lull in the second half but the goals that they scored were all wonderfully worked and taken. Hazard and De Bruyne are awesome players. The only shame was that Lukaku was playing with his back to goal so often, probably to play others in, but it stopped him getting on the scoresheet. Italy look great here. I had them down to win 2-1 but changed it to Spain 2-1. I figured Italy looked progressively worse in each game but this game has bucked that trend. Fuck sake.

I wouldn't sell it. Would you really get that much money for it, anyway? It's not worth the hassle of sorting out bullshit due to lack of proper accounts. Was this all part of Nintendo's plan? To make it so unnecessarily complicated so that you HAD to keep it forever?
-
I'm struggling to get truly invested in it because I feel that I need to see what the NX is first and if/how that version differs from the WiiU edition of the game. I'm not likely to buy an NX as I don't need another console and I'm still pretty pissed off at Nintendo for the WiiU. But, I'll be just as annoyed if the WiiU version of Zelda is gimped and it's all a ploy to "force" people to buy an NX for Zelda. So, that's where I am. I'm basically waiting on the NX first to see what's up. Can't say I'm in any rush to play a new Zelda after Skyward Sword either. All of the reviews/previews were great for that too, with the media going completely overboard with it at the time. If I could sum it up in one word, it's caution.

I never understand it when teams get to 1-0, look good and then suddenly decide to change their gameplan. Ireland were sat waaaay too deep at the start of the second half and are now 2-1 down. They've allowed France to take control of the game and I can't see them coming back now.
-
Come the fuck ON Ireland! I've changed my prediction for this so many times. I went with 1-1, then 2-1 Ireland, then 3-1 France and settled on 2-1 France eventually. Can't see Ireland holding on for 90 minutes without conceding. This France team have goals in them and they can score from anywhere. Wouldn't bet against a Pogba or Payet equaliser with a screamer from outside the box on 89 minutes, for example. Still think France will win. But fuark, I want Ireland to do it!

The Croatia/Portugal match was one of the worst games I've seen all season and I've watched United play under LVG, so I've seen many bad or boring performances. This was up there. Football should abolish the 0-0. It's the worst kind of result going. In the league system, a 0-0 should be 0 points to both sides. We had two sides that were scared to attack yesterday.

I'm still powering on with the Blood and Wine expansion and I'm going to be absolutely gutted when I get to the end of it and that moment of realisation hits that I've reached the end of the game. I must have sat down for hours yesterday and barely moved from the sofa. The additions they've made with the mutations are excellent and I spent most of yesterday running around the beautiful world of Toussaint using Aard on enemies to freeze blast them. One enemy was frozen and then proceeded to explode on site with his limbs shattering off into different directions. It's glorious. Fucking glorious.

Wales were shit and were extremely lucky to go through. Too many players underperformed and Northern Ireland were all over them, preventing them from forming any cohesive attacks. Very few chances in the entire game and it could very easily have gone to penalties. All three games today have been shit and boring as fuck. I think this will set the tone now for this round. Too many teams are building up the play really slowly, scared shitless that they'll concede a shot, let alone a goal. No risks, no bravery and no real excitement for the audience watching. Football, especially international football, is waaaay too defensive-focused these days.

What has been the general reaction to this in the Netherlands? Work was very, very interesting yesterday. Strange atmosphere. We are clearly a very divided country. The argument, "if you don't like it, you can always leave" was used many-a-time. A remain voter spoke incredibly passionately yesterday (would've put the Labour leader to shame!) and uttered a phrase I'll never forget: "I feel that I can't identify anymore with the people in my own society."

Fucking hell, Ese, that's a huge win! Well done. So happy to see one of our own win something. Mega-jealous.

Under the telly in our tv unit, but disconnected and unplugged. Can't actually remember the last game I played on the system. I don't sell my consoles.

Happy birthday, Animal.

Couldn't tear my eyes away from the Hungary-Portugal game. Every time I seemed to turn around, a goal was scored! Crazy, crazy game. More of that, please! Pleased that Belgium also got the win yesterday. I did fear that the game would end 0-0...ruining another prediction of mine! I'm top of the league now at work. Hope the Iceland game will be interesting to watch. Not sure if I can take another attack vs. defence game.

I'll give this a go at the weekend, most probably. Bad time for this update when the Euros are on!
-
To make this competition fair, Spain should only be allowed to score from headers and volleys inside the box.
-
That was hugely disappointing. I know that they lost against England in the last game, but Wales played so much better than England against both Slovakia and Russia. They hit them with pace and width, which England just aren't doing. It's all too slow and pedestrian. At least Jack Wilshere got his cardio done for today. Has he reached his game-time quota for the year yet?
-
This is one of the best games I've ever seen Wales play. Should be 5 or 6 up, easily. Ramsey and Bale have just walked through them so easily. They've shown how to play great football using an unconventional system with the wing-backs. England just can't finish. They really should have scored by now.

I forgot about Courtside! That's actually the last Basketball game I played. I used to be reeeeeally into Basketball and adopted the Indianna Pacers as my team of choice...mainly because I thought that their logo was fucking ace. I kinda wish I was still into it as it provided me with some awesome memories. I felt really rusty playing 2k16 and just felt incredibly overwhelmed with the pace of the game. The younger me would have absolutely loved it, including all the neat little touches like I mentioned earlier. Tempted to give it a go again and see if I grow into it.

This was only £6-ish on PSN. Couldn't really say no at that price. Hoping to crumble into an emotional wreck like that guy did at E3 last year.
-
Good luck, Dazzy. (I kinda hope you DO write the whole thing on the iPad. I do want to see that!)

This Russia side aren't great. Wales are already 1-0 up, as I had put them down in my prediction, but I can honestly see them winning this 2-0 or 3-0 now. England will beat Slovakia. I'm sure of it. 2-0, I reckon.

I gave NBA 2K16 a go yesterday and had absolutely no idea what I was doing. I've not played a basketball game since NBA Action 95, so that's over 20 years ago! Oh my... The presentation of it all seemed pretty good. I liked the pre-game, mid-game and post-game discussions and the interviews, too. The commentary seemed pretty great from what I saw. If I was still into basketball, I bet I'd be loving this.

I'm guessing he's split them up because Vermaelen would be exposed on the left and it would create even more chances for the opposition. At least with Vermaelen in the middle, he's got Alderwiereld to help him out. I prefer to see Vertonghen in the centre, too. I thought yesterday's result for Portugal was actually a defeat for football. They were clearly the better team and the only team that really were trying to win the game. I understand that playing defensive/counter-attacking is a strategy in itself, but for such a short competition that could be over in three games, I would have preferred to see Austria do a lot more. It actually makes for a dull game to see one team just sitting back and doing nothing. It's happened a fair few times so far in this tournament. Football is ultimately a game and the object of the game is to score goals to win that game. Seeing all 11 players camped inside their own half is lame.
-
I said to @Eenuh that Belgium look more exposed on the wings because they're essentially a defender down because Kompany is injured and they've had to re-jig that defence to accommodate for that. But, I don't think they look too bad defensively, at least not in this game. The right back (Meunier) has looked very good and Vertonghen and Alderweireld are top class players. The only question mark for me is Vermaelen and he's the weak link. Defensively, I don't think Belgium have been tested at all today. They've looked completely comfortable and I can't remember Courtois having anything to do.
