  1. I had to come in through 4 inches of snow last year... no excuses for us... Its alright for a business that will just lose a days custom, but stuff like nhs and emergency services have to operate no matter the weather, I sadly fall under that umbrella =(
  2. I swear to god family would do your bap in.... ARGH bit of backstory before I tell you the incident in question. My uncle is crazy man (like proper mental institute patient years ago) and is generally an all round stubborn, religious man who will not listen to anyone and likes things done his way. Aunt in law (married to uncle) is a bit bitter. She's rage that my mum doesn't work and always goes on about her living the life of luxury etc. My nan is a crazy woman (uncles mother) who is very selfish, always wants her own way, yet won't stand up to her bloody kids. So today we had planned to have our nan over to meet my sisters boy, and have some boxing day nibbles. Now my sisters boyfriend is a bit funny about food (hes VERY picky) so it took a lot of reassurance and provision of food he will eat. Nan rings saying shes gonna be a bit late, and that uncle had taken her to portrush (miles away) and would be half an hour late. Ok, annoying as my sister and bf had plans for later... but was ok with it and half an hour wouldn't have made a huge deal. Then she rings saying that uncle has put on dinner and not to bother with food, just as my mum was putting in the food she had very carefully picked out for boyfriend and everyone!!! Then she just didn't bother turning up at all. >_< It's not even like we like the bloody woman, shes freakin horrible, but we made the effort to put on the food and such and she just didnt give two shits about it. I gave my mum a hug and told sisters bf not to worry as she's a dickhead anyway lol. Just really really hate my outside family (from this country anyway) as they are all religious (in a bad way) self righteous, self centred nobs. this was my gran who always prefered my sister and suggested i drink vinegar to lose weight (at the age of 12!!!!) -- by the way serebii, i hope your nan gets all the care and support she needs. its tough going through that but remember to keep lines of communication open between your family. Always helps to talk and be there for everyone too.
  3. snow days aren't applicable to most working folk either!
  4. I know hes such a lovely boy :3 He's our gentle giant... massive big tiger but he's scared of everything... including the damn sofa ha ha -- my next door neighbour washes his car mats and hangs them over our shared wall... on occasion they would fall over into our garden and my sister got a snap of our little betty sleeping on one of them.... raging lol
  5. we've got a mahooooosive new sofa in the house, its lovely :3 so comfortable and makes the room so much more useable. For some reason the fancy clock we had wasnt running, and its been up and running now for a few days... its amazing how the ticking/chimes etc bring back so many weird memories of the past. It's a fancy clock and relatively loud =P And it does have this ANNOYING habit of chiming right at the end of the exciting cliffhanger episode of [insert tv show]. RAWR. Now I can see why it wasn't put on. But yeah mega awesome sofa... its more comfortable than my bed ffs. time to relocate methinks :p bonus pic of beanie trying it out

  9. ITS CHRISTMAS TIEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! no more work til next wednesday = party time :3
  10. R.E gcse (short course) was compulsory when i took it. We studied general bible stuff, and touched very little on protestant vs catholic for the purpose of the "morals" side of the exam. (ie differences in belief with regards divorce and contraception) and that was it. Good job there were no minority children in my day....
  11. i've only had to rely on my emergency inhaler once today (I mentioned in bad thread that my mum sprayed perfume & set me off) but I think that's partially to do with me taking a sick day from work today - a lot less stress on the old resp system when you don't have to talk all day on the phone. Have mentioned to my mum about spraying perfume in the kitchen/downstairs in general (why she and my sister do it in the kitchen, I don't know) and hopefully she'll remember.
  12. my DEAREST MOTHER sprayed perfume right beside me and i just went into an asthma attack. Cheers mum, fucking cheers. /dies
  13. i work for the nhs too... they give me a wage and they give me drugs. I'm happy

  15. nightwolf, was your dad an officer/army man at some point....? he has that look about him.
  16. shut up wesley =P I'm going to buy some duct tape...HMMMMM
  17. yeah this thread is kinda unneccesary as people always post their considered purchases in the purchases thread... lol
  18. which disciple are you? :p
  19. well i think if you are on income support/jobseekers you get them for free still
  20. yeah i know that england still pays. You don't actually pay any money on super expensive drugs because they tend to be bought by the nhs through private medical companies. If it was me £7.40 would break the bank because I'm on 4-5 prescriptions a month... yeah its ok now while i live at home but the cost of a monthly certificate is a lot on top of everything else if i lived on ma own. im one of these sickly people that just arent sickly enough to be entitled to free prescriptions =( -- last night i woke up 4 freakin times with asthma attacks. I'm starting to wonder if the inhalers are making me worse rather than better. *coughcoughcough*
  21. i would say if its going paid in n.ireland, that the rest will follow suit... Although I heard (not sure how reliable) that it costs more to charge for prescriptions with the added administration it requires?!
  22. Yeah I was kinda thinking....is this guy a pro puzzler or something?! Normally I would do 500 or 1000 depending on how brave i was... I like doing puzzles with block colours (like fruit bowls) because it does tend to make it easier to "group" up the pieces after you've done the outsides.
  23. What is wrong with you... lol
