I'm OUTSTANDING....according to ofsted.
Raining_again replied to flameboy's topic in General Chit Chat
Well done! You've got a great personality and it comes to no surprise that you have done well. We all know that you love your job and your fun easygoing attitude is perfect for that line of work =) -
I've got a lot of health problems with my eyes, reccurent infections and all sorts of lovliness, so I stick to glasses. Would consider surgery but with my astigmatism and long sightedness, it would be stupid expensive (£5k+) if I could even get it. I agree with Frank as well, its weird how no glasses can completely change the look of someone, the shape of their face and often the size of their eyes (as glasses have magnifying properties). Also kind of relevant, I have really gappy teeth and I'm considering getting braces in (at my own cost being an adult)....so gappy teeth, yay or nay?

You would genuinely think that people are being tied down and made to go to uni here... Think far too many people are using uni for the "craic" as we say here, just to get away from the parents and rack up shitloads of debt (on mostly alcohol) then come out with no more prospects than a school leaver.. I know there's a car crash economy at the moment but that's no reason to get yourself into a bucket load of debt for nothin. There are actually great jobs for a lot of people out there that......GASP....don't need a degree.

i reckon you should get some sugar free ones for the funsies. :p

maybe it just got a bump and a scare. Cats are pretty hardy, also extremely fast when they want to be!!! If its run off its probably skulked back home to lick its wounds.

flip me really? We've got an awful IT market here in n.ireland and always have... yeah there are jobs in the IT sector but what jobs there are seem to be INCREDIBLY competitive as lots of experience people have been let go from other companies, as well as IT degrees being pretty popular (therefore lots and lots of grads, companies can pick and choose who they want)

I have a feeling call centre moans will be featured a lot in this thread =P it seems like all call centre staff get bitched at! It seems like i'm always taking shit from people.. someone rang up wanting to refer to a community physio.. I was like ney we don't refer to physios, being all nice and everything, and giving her the number for physios... and she was like... *sigh* you're always changing the process...or somesuch cheeky comment... Uhhhh right ok I've worked here for 6 damn years, since the bloody place started... WE'VE NEVER TAKEN PHYSIO REFERRALS... but sure just you give me cheek, no worries. And you would bloody think we were the yellow pages the number of people chancing their arm to see if we have numbers for people they know we don't take!! Also a random thing we get... a lot of brummie job seekers call us because our 0845 number is very similar to theirs. The most frustrating thing trying to explain to people from birmingham that they've got the wrong number... some of the people who call have very very bad english as well >_< I apparently "annoyed" a district nurse by a referral I put through. I got a nice lil old lady on the phone. She had a special pressure relief mattress ordered for her. She rang us up to say she had thought about it and didn't really want it any more. She said to me she felt under pressure from the nurse to take it, she had one before and didn't like it, neither did her hubby, and she said she was so upset about it she felt like crying all day... to which point she did start crying.... so generally as we do, we filter most of the information given. I put on the additional information section (just to warn the nurses) that "pt is upset, please contact to arrange cancellation of pressure relieving mattress" and apparently that offended them... I would have thought they would like to be forewarned to help deal with the situation but nooooo. My boss at the time said, well we could contact <lead nurse> and see if this is something that needs to be changed for everyone... she fucking dug herself out of that hole quicker than grease lightning!! Flips sake! And the multitude of high ups in the focus group meeting said I dealt with the problem in the correct manner and was really helpful to the lady on the phone. See you'll get your congrats from the people at the top, but it never seems to filter down to the people we actually deal with. Some people are great and love us... but it seems those numbers get smaller and smaller every day I'm very very confident at my job and there's very little I don't know now, so this kind of stuff doesn't really bug me for a long time, but its soul destroying when you're new and you think you've made a mistake or upset someone through your actions!

only paid back fully in certain criteria, and when you have to pay, I think its 80% you pay of the fee, they give you the cost with the nhs payment taken off already. Some people opt for private dental plans which can range from about £15 a month and covers everything, depending on what condition your teeth are in. Like I said above, about 30-40 for a checkup and an occasional filling.
-
I had a checkup, a couple of filling repairs (used to grind a lot) and a biteguard fitted and made (for said grinding) and it cost well over £100. You can spend thousands depending on what you need.... root canals are quite expensive from what I recall. Usually about £30ish covers a checkup, if you can find an nhs dentist to take you on. re the student-ness, you *should* get it free

o_O nice teeth are always good, I'll agree, but surely you've gotten past the "looks are the most important" part and you're in love now? I mean even through distance she's still with you (and you mentioned the other stuff that happened recently) so surely she loves YOU. Yeah its a bummer, but a tooth is a tooth, and it is repairable.... albeit expensively. There are people who lose limbs and all sorts of crazy stuff but their partners still stay with them On another topic, I was looking into getting my teeth straightened (lol irony/hypocrisy im sure) as I've got a big gap, and its gonna cost about 2 freakin grand. In the unlikely event I get nhs funding, it'll only be 20% off! Dentistry is big business. I only get minor work done on my teeth generally (checkups & a filling or 2 every few years) and even that adds up

it worries me that she'll "kill you" over the head of a tooth.... fuck we've all got worse things to come as we get older... a tooth is really not a freakin big deal... lol
