  1. Can happen but not always. You can be based in one place, stay there and be "shipped out" to wars or whatever when needed. My father was in the RAF. We lived in Elgin, and he worked in Lossiemouth on a day to day basis. He was shipped out to the Falklands for 10 months. We all were moved on a longer term basis to Germany (3 years) back to Scotland (6 years), then over to Northern Ireland. Also you have to have very good (read: perfect) health to join the RAF. Even slight complaints can disqualify you. Something I would have loved to have done myself, but unfortunately I've got a list of medical complaints.
  2. O2 used to do a deal where you got free weekend calls when you were at your own postcode.. so they must be able to track you.
  3. Hmmm. I voted this morning. I voted 1st for someone called Parsley (mmmm parsley <3) 2nd for the green party, and 3rd for a bloke with a cheesey grin! Basically the ones I voted for are the parties that tend to be more middle road rather than very unionist or very nationalist. Northern Ireland politics are awfully complex I'm not voting for Sinn Fein or the DUP, thats for sure >_>
  4. tbh staying at the bottom/entry level is really not a good place to be. Employees at the bottom tend to be totally expendable. And treated badly. Entry level money is abysmal. If you don't like the idea of moving up in the career are in, chances are you are in the wrong career. I started at entry level (probably still somewhat there) - its not a happy place to be. When you actually HAVE to work day in day out in the same job, no challenge, it's not a good place at all. Saying that I take your point, its all too true. Minimal is probably more important than everything, but you can achieve a balance between the two. I know too well of the people you talk about. The ones who are constantly stepping on people to get a better job. My bosses bosses boss has climbed 3 levels in the past 4 years (in between maternity leave with 2 children!!!) and has had her job created for her. (the NHS is unbelievably corrupt)
  5. But do you want to stay at the same level getting the same rubbish pay, just managing (or not) to pay the bills every month?
  6. I came into work at 8.30am this morning, and outside were 4 ducks, sleeping. 3 males and a female. When they woke up the males followed the female around looking dazed, then they all flew away! So cute :3 Its strange since there is no water within a good mile radius where I work
  7. Go for a job where you have potential to climb up the ladder. I can say the best thing I did after leaving college was getting a job (rather than going to uni)
  8. I'm pretty sure that Dan is right and they don't. I think the police can, or can request the network to.
  9. Fanlessss for teh win I bought this from quietpc.co.uk about 2 years ago (it was £200 at the time) picture! and the other side has a big copper heatsink like so:
  10. So like odd day today... There was a few ducks outside of my office (this being odd because there is no water anywhere near us) and later on I went outside at lunch and found a duck egg Then I found out that my neighbour had a heart attack.. He's been in a coma for two weeks and its really not looking good. Sad times.
  11. I have a fanless graphics card, so I'm siding with that suggestion. (msi 7950gt <3) I mean you could spend £30-£50 on a decent fan (and there's getting it installed without trashing it - fans can be a real bitch to get on) http://www.quietpc.co.uk have quite a few fanless graphics cards. I'm not incredibly up to date on hardware these days but this looks like a nice piece of kit for just under £50.
  12. Ditto! Vista transparency is awesome!
  13. It's worrying that you are telling this to a mostly male forum (kudos on the new job btw!)
  14. Flawless' routine was super awesome, well thought out
  15. To be fair, tax money doesn't JUST go to the dole. I work and pay about 250/300 in tax per month.. But my medication costs £180 per week. (which is funded by the government) so I suppose I should be grateful too
  16. What about a bizarro mix of the two? :awesome:
  17. psh! I'm just attached to my phone, it gets a LOT of use. Suppose with that comes wear and tear. And im arthritic/clumsy so it gets dropped on occasion.
  18. Spot on. ^^; I bought Reanimation on the day of release. Badass. Linkin are all that is good (a.k.a wincakes) --- I bought a new and sealed Nokia 3410 (crazy I know) from ebay. Stopgap phone 'til I decide what I'm going to do with my Simplicity contract. Don't know if I want to be tied to an 18 month contract... And I'm sick of buying these stupid new phones that can't survive past 6 months. BASIC FTW.
  19. woooooooo. you. :P

    Your theme makes my eyes happy, prettyful! ^^;

  20. mehhh. I feel a bit grounded. The sooner I pass my test and get a car the better. Who'd have thought that the internet could get so boring, so fast? Have to go to the doc to get referred to a physio for my knee. That's another thing I'll put off til I absolutely HAVE to go, or I'm crippled. Doc must think i'm some sorta nutcase with every medical problem in the world - so I avoid going where possible :P
  21. Oh lawd I had that phone once upon a time... Didn't it have like a two line screen?? Amazing.
  22. It would be awesome if phones were the same standard of quality.. I swear phone makers design them to go faulty just after a year nowadays. Its all a conspiracy to makes us spend monies!
  23. Nokia 5110. Bitchin! Man that phone was awesome. Then I got sand in it when i dropped it on the beach... the battery NEVER came off again.
  24. Pressing a nerve! I get it too often
  25. I'm a Call Referal Operator Hows that for awesome :awesome:
