  1. Considering Cruisin' USA sold more than most Cube games, this may sell loads!
  2. The only way smash bros can get any better for me is if they reveal Reggie as a playable character! God bless Sakurai!
  3. I love all the Wii channel music, especially the tunes on the Weather Channel. I stick that on when i need to relax! Lots of TP stuff has stuck with me, like the Ordon Village music and some of the Hyrule Field music. Pangya golf also has some catchy tunes as does MySims.
  4. It seems the Nintendo Wii has got another Celebrity admirer - in the form of Bullseye legend Jim Bowen! IGN UK have got an interview with the man himself from a Smartypants promotion event: http://uk.wii.ign.com/articles/830/830554p1.html I met Jim at a Uni event a few years ago, he is indeed a smashing chap. I think Nintendo UK should use him as a spokesperson to get older people interested in the Wii, and he's still popular with my generation so he could join in the Wii tours. I wonder if a publisher has read the article, I would love some Bully action on Wii!
  5. Excellent idea, give that man a burrito! I'd love to see Pikmin 3 and Animal Crossing in '08. Plus: F-Zero is a must A new DKC game with rare on board Banjo kazooie and Goldeneye on VC Mario RPG and Earthbound given PAL releases on VC A new (proper) Tales game (i'd even settle for Abyss tbh) A new RPG from Monolith A Mario Party best-of compilation with online options (to send off the series) Factor 5 on Wii Outrun 3 exclusive to Wii (I can hope...) Some brand new action IPs from Nintendo themselves (they must have lots of teams spare now the big Mario and Zelda games are out of the way)
  6. I'm sure Nintendo will just use this as an opportunity to highlight all their Q4 releases so don't expect any big announcements.
  7. Iwata mentioned recently that Nintendo won't be mentioning/announcing games way before the release dates as they used to. I'd imagine they'd still have their usual mini-conference just after christmas to hype wii fit, mariokart and also announce a couple of Q2 08 releases.
  8. Thanks guys! Is there any software that lets you switch it on or off on the fly or is it a BIOS only job?
  9. I've just benchmarked my laptop after reformatting and updating drivers etc. and noticed my Internal clock speed is listed as 800Mhz which wouldn't be a problem if it wasn't an Athlon 3000+ (64bit). Have I missed something or is there a problem with my laptop? I seem to remember Star Wars Galaxies used to come up with an error message about my processor not matching minimum spec or something. It's a little ancient now (bout 3 years I think) but is there anything I can do to boost my performance? Thanks in advance!
  10. Just a few that I think would help plug a few gaps in the release schedule and would actually be a good fit for the Wii. Outrun 2: C2C Tales of the Abyss Xenosaga 1-3 Virtua Tennis 3 Monkey Island Boxset Broken Sword Boxset Starcraft A new Disgaea
  11. I want to get a box to plug all my console component leads into as I have limited connections on my samsung TV, are these any good: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=290150788872 Or can someone point me in the direction of a decent set. I don't mind paying a bit extra if I can get a great picture. Found a couple more, any thoughts are appreciated. http://www.av-sales.co.uk/proddetail.php?prod=BTECH-BT947 http://www.amazon.co.uk/AV-Control-Centre-Xbox-360/dp/B000BBRG5K
  12. I always prefferred the arcade feel of the old ISS on N64. Still good news, if they get it right.
  13. I always thought that idea would be great for something like starfox, although using the remote for directing your ship and the analogue controlling an on-screen reticle.
  14. I haven't received an email from Nintendo yet, did they say they'd cancel any accounts that didn't approve the new stars policy?
  15. I've just bought the official component cable, can't fault it really and I don't mind spending a couple of quid extra if it means the cable lasts longer. Incidentally, can anyone tell me whether any PAL cube games support Progressive Scan? I swapped most of my US games for PAL equivalants a while ago and as i've just got the new cable was hoping to try out PS but can't seem to get any to work. I also tried the hot-swapping technique to play Baten Kaitos Origins, as that seems to be the only US game I have left that works on my wii AND supports PS, but when I try and select PS mode my wii just freezes. Any help/advice/peanuts greatly appreciated.
  16. I have really enjoyed this so far. Really sucked at first until I realised I had the remote facing the wrong way - now I get a Pangya with nearly every shot. There's loads of collectables and costumes to buy, and the dolfino lottery thing is good fun too.
  17. I think a more Acradey ISS style game would better suit the Wii. Why not use the pointer to direct your passes? Hover over another player and press a button to pass to them or direct it into open space for someone to run on to. Could be hand for directing shots too - after you release 'shoot' the direction you point the remote dictates where the shot goes. Players with a higher accuracy rating would hit closer to where you aim as well. On topic - Hope FIFA 08 plays well, ust in case we never see Pro Evo/ISS on Wii.
  18. Is this coming to Europe? Looks absolutely stunning!
  19. Glad to see Ubi's main Wii-orientated games doing well. I thought Rabbids was fun while it lasted and Red steel, while being heavily flawed, was surprisingly good fun.
  20. Just picked this up for six quid at a car boot, quite a bargain I think! Once I get through my mountain of RPGs I'll give this a go.
  21. I asked my local gamestation when Eledees is out and they have it down as 4th may. I'll try and find an official notice.
  22. Just bought a 32" Samsung HDTV, bit disappointed as the picture for my Wii looks worse than on my 24" Sony that's like nearly ten years old. I have it rigged up via RGB, does a component cable make a good bit of difference? I was looking forward to seeing a nice, crisp Zelda but it looks awful. Any help with TV/Wii settings or cable advice would be much appreciated. Thanks.
  23. The game structure and level design may have gone through several iterations but the art catalogue wouldn't have gone through the same drastic changes. There were a lot of textures in the final build that were fairly generic (not intended to be read as 'crap') and therefore easily interchangeable (wood/brick textures for example). Character models and some environments may also have been reused but as there were only brief glimpses of the early versions you can take that as pure conjecture.
  24. How does a game go from great to shit looking despite better hardware? Well for a start Res Evil 4 was in development for what four years? GF: Blackhand has had something like a year to 18 months dev cycle. The budget for each would have been significantly different, given that RE was intended from the start to be a remiagining of the series; GF is just a port. Plus i'm sure RE had a bigger art team working on it, whereas GF would have consisted of a team in charge of porting the title, then another to implement Wii controls, therefore the graphics won't be any different to the PS2 version due to sharing art material. Game development, especially in terms of graphics, isn't quite so easy as 'they can't even be arsed to make great graphics' you have to consider things like budgets and team sizes which is why, i'd wager, the early wii third party games have looked so poor (that and the quick dev-cycle). I'm hoping the initial batch of third party games have sold just enough for Publishers to give the next set more respectable budgets.
  25. Get yourself on http://www.consumeractiongroup.com Bank charges are actually illegal and if you challenge your bank they will back down and reimburse you (eventually). Same goes for anyone charging you obscene amounts for going overdrawn or missing a payment. Companies are allowed to charge an amount that is in proportion to the amount you have gone overdrawn, which shouldn't work out as any more than a couple of pounds. It certainly doesn't cost them 30 quid to send out a letter telling you that you've gone over your limit. I'd recommend everyone on N-E who has had any charge like this to pop on that website and get all the necessary documents to get you cash back. I'm about six months into my claim and im set to get about £4000 back, my house mate is even further in his claim and could get around £6000. Most claims take up to 18 months and the banks will try every trick they can to stop you getting your money back but they will not let it go to court (despite threats to the contrary) as they have no legal standing.
