  1. The presentation of this game is just phenomenal, visuals, animations, sound effects, the way the music fades in and out between areas. Game is gorgeous, wasn't really feeling it from trailers but playing it
  2. Best Mini Game Possibly more of a nostalgic pick, but who cares when the answer is Super Monkey Ball's Monkey Target on the Gamecube. I think my mates and I played this more than the main game itself! Tons of fun, and plenty of depth for a mini game.
  3. Fair enough I was probably over-selling it
  4. Anyone playing this? I've put an hour or so in and it's really great so far, constant smile on my face while playing. Only negative is that usual Nintendo thing of over-explaining everything (the battle mechanics especially) at first, but hopefully won't last.
  5. It looks SO much more comfortable to hold than the DS4, thankfully
  6. 100%'d RiME last night. Ignore everything I said about performance issues, whilst still not great the game does improve a lot after the first chapter. Anyway, fantastic game. I'd almost go as far as saying better than Journey. An underrated gem, and a surprisingly touching story.
  7. Bit dubious as it's not been announced today. Could just be dropped on YouTube with no warning though I guess
  8. Great shout for Excite Truck and Mario Kart 8 DX. I'd even through Super Mario Kart (SNES) in the mix as a favourite of mine, but Racing game for me goes for one that made a big impression on my younger self. I didn't really play many PS1 games back in the day but one I played constantly was WipeOut 2097. Future games in the series never really hit the same high mark for me for some reason. Loved the visuals, combat, audio, whole package was great.
  9. Wow, what a move from Xbox. Fantastic Can't see why anyone would bother with Stadia after this
  10. Course you didn’t mean to use flash colours.... Sounds great, I’m not as active but I’ll be there. 4 would be better for me but should be fine with 3 if everyone else is
  11. Most Interesting Collectible This one's pretty recent for me, I don't normally bother listening to audio logs or reading lore dumps in games, but Control had me reading everything I picked up. They're written really well and placed at the right time so you end up reading about a particular thing just before you come across it. Also it's a brilliant game, highly recommended.
  12. I'm really looking forward to it, looks and sounds like a fun big adventure game.
  13. Best Story As with a lot of others here I don't really play many narrative-heavy games, and the big AAA games I do are mostly forgettable a month or so later. One exception to that is Detroit: Become Human. I adored the story-telling in that game and the way your choices affect the narrative was fantastic, really enjoyable experience. I didn't like Marcus' storyline much but Kara and Connor were great. Stunning game too, which helps. Not just the graphics but the UI as well.
  14. It's a pretty brutal game at times, the boss encounters especially, and there's nearly 50 of them. It's not a linear Metroidvania like Ori, you get lost often but that's part of the fun. It's also that usual (admittedly dubious) thing of once it clicks after 5-10 hours, it really clicks. Maybe I'm not selling it too well
  15. Ooooh good choice. I could have easily gone for that. Have you played Hollow Knight, different type of game obviously but equally nuanced and dripping with atmosphere.
  16. Slightly lower reviews than I was expecting but still decent. I think the openworld formula in games like these needs a big shake up. So will I, assuming it'll run on PS5, who knows
  17. You. Just thought it was a funny turn of events.
  18. Lego gives us an interactive open-ended 'play how you want' game and people complain saying they just want something cool to build and be done. Then they give us exactly that and people are like "But what does it actually do, you build it and then what??" #internet Anyway looks ridiculously cool, here's the order page, looks like pre-orders are going up on the 1st of August: https://www.lego.com/en-gb/product/nintendo-entertainment-system-71374?cmp=social-7s8hlq-SHOP
  19. Pilotwings SNES is top 10 games for me, an underrated classic.
  20. Obviously anyone with taste will agree that Super Mario Bros 3 or Super Mario World should get the nod for 2D Platformer, maybe even games like Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze or Yoshi's Island. Thos are all incorrect though, the real winner is Hollow Knight. Ok it's more of a Metroidvania, but I had to fit it in somewhere and you spent the majority of the game platforming anyway. Praised this game enough in the past, beautiful visuals, amazing combat, incredible atmosphere, tons of lore and environmental story-telling, polished like a Nintendo game, just a ton of fun.
  21. Not a weird thing to point out at all re: the font and branding, I thought the exact same thing. I was a bit disappointed by the announcement from a selfish point of view as it's not really something I'm interested in but now I'm pretty hopeful that like you say it might be smaller scale (unless it proves a huge hit obviously). With Mandalorian I feel like everything is in place for season 2, it's just the post production work that needs sorting, whereas TROS needed more time from a story and editing point of view, things that you can't really rush. I wonder if the previous negative publicity from the Solo course correction, Rogue One reshoots, Benioff and Weiss departures and Ep IX director change, Iger/Lucasfilm were hesitant to delay TROS. At the end of the day though, people will throw abuse at Kathleen Kennedy when to me all those disruptions just prove they want to get things right, and not put out a project Lucasfilm don't believe in. Maybe they could do with easing up a little though, and perhaps Taika Waititi's hiring is a sign they're doing just that.
  22. For some reason I'm getting the impression this is a bigger scale series than you're suggesting, akin to a TCW or Rebels, but maybe it's just a 2 season thing like Resistance. Seems quite limited in scope for anything much longer, not that I know who these characters actually are though, yet. I never really considered it getting delayed to be honest, Bob Iger said in May it wasn't going to be pushed, but who knows. Much as I quite enjoyed TROS I think it could have done with a delay till the following year tbh, and so if Mando season 2 needs a couple extra months or whatever, I hope they take it. The trouble is it feels like they've planned the timing of all these properties so they don't eat into each other. Mando till the new year, then straight into the High Republic for a few months, then potentially this Bad Batch show etc... so maybe they're reluctant to shift things around too much.
  23. I'm not sure they would have announced two animated shows at the same time at Celebration or even close to each other. Hope you're right about the Bad Batch being a quicker turnaround if it's based on Clone Wars assets/art style etc. I suspect we'll just get announcements every few weeks for the next month or two, one of which being a Mando season 2 trailer (which I'm tempted to just not watch).
  24. Really, really disappointed it wasn't the Rebels sequel series being announced. Really hope that hasn't been cancelled. I think Filoni didn't sound too encouraging on more Rebels stories on the way recently. Could have been a Disney decision maybe, Clone Wars getting more buzz than Rebels did or something like that.
