    Rime

Terrible news, one of the big reasons I was keen on a PS4 was because Rime looked so amazing. Wonder why the relationship with Playstation soured.
  2. Never mind facts, we're laughing at Nintendo. Surely you're used to this board by now?
  3. Yeah I thought it was a little odd the tombs were just one puzzle as well. It didn't really differentiate them from the rest of the game that much. I was expecting something a bit closer to Zelda dungeon type lengths, though that would probably be pushing it.
  4. It's an extremely generous F2P game from Nintendo, even before the above update.
  5. I suspect it'll be huge in Japan. And they've already said their second app is going to be a proper game with a well known character. Maybe they needed more time with it, and could get Miitomo out earlier.
  6. Still playing this every day, loving it
  7. Very encouraging stuff! Sounds great. They can't just retread Ocarina of Time again.
  8. Did you play Blastball or the main game? I thought the only demos were for the former
  9. I keep forgetting about the discounted range of games Nintendo eventually offers, whenever someone says they never lower their prices.
  10. What does that say about Battlefront's gameplay? It's hardly encouraging. Nintendo have mostly steered well clear of that style over substance type of game. For the record I'm not saying Battlefront's gameplay is lousy, just that it's basically just another shooter we've seen a hundred times.
  11. It's mostly enjoyable because of the Star Wars aspect. If it were random spaceships and locations I wouldn't have touched it again after 10 minutes.
  12. Yeah I enjoyed Battlefront fighter squadron, but mostly for the Star Wars factor. Gameplay was meh and I won't remember a thing about it in six months. Whereas Starfox Assault I remember tons about, over a decade later. I'll remember Twilight Princess for years, I'll have forgotten most of Tomb Raider in about a year, even though I loved it at the time. As for Zero, I think it looks great fun, but that's just me.
  13. It's good fun but like many games I've experienced on PS4, the fun is very short-lived. The kind of popcorn 'cinematic' experience you have a blast with at the time, but then will have forgotten about a few months or years later. Sort of how I feel about Marvel superhero films, awesome while watching, but they don't really stick with me to any great degree a week or two later, unlike some truly great films/Nintendo games.
  14. Brilliant stuff as usual from these guys...
  15. The City in the Sky boss I remember being one of the most memorable bosses in the whole series. That just screamed EPIC, as well as the Arbiter's Grounds one. The Temple of Time boss I really enjoyed, it was quite easy but was still a cool concept and visually looked really good I thought. Ditto the Snowpeak one, beautiful fight and cleverly executed. I'm surprised to hear you think they're not memorable.
  16. 17. My original point was that Starfox added a bit of genre-variety to the gaming landscape, especially the big AAA industry. That's all. And also, games don't have to be frantic to be arcadey.
  18. Point me to some other games like Starfox in the rest of the industry and we can compare. That was my point, that this game is very different to the majority of what's being put out in the AAA industry. I don't think it's a very controversial thing to say tbh. Unravel? It's only refreshing because it's on the PS4 and surrounded by a library of realism, openworld games and shooters. If it were on the Wii U it would be standard fare. Firewatch for sure though (though you'd expect variety and refreshing gameplay from an indie), and I'd throw in Splatoon as well, probably the most refreshing shooter in years. Whether the game is good or not we'll see, my point was simply that it was a nice palette cleanser and that Nintendo are good at that. Arcadey space shooters, mini-maze puzzle adventures, anti-gravity kart racing, team-based multiplayer shooter with ink guns, real time strategy adventure on an alien world etc...
  19. Happens everywhere, not just Nintendo and banks, and we have no idea if their emulation software works well enough on the old 3DS.
  20. Nothing wrong with that though surely? It's also a good way of rewarding people who've already upgraded and wanted more exclusive games.
  21. That's a good point. In fact most of their games that year seemed to make an obvious effort to use the gamepad in unique ways. Super Mario Maker is probably the killer app for it, Splatoon had the (excellent) gyro controls and map jumping, Kirby and the Rainbow Curse, Project Guard, Giant Robot etc...
  22. Those who are spending close to £150 on an upgrade just to be able to play SNES games need their heads checked. Nintendo aren't forcing anyone to upgrade.
