  1. Apart from the already discussed in-app purchase thing, I asked what other "countless misunderstandings" there were apart from the save data backup thing, so basically transferring data. Cool.
  2. Maybe 5% of the total sales of the game are aware or annoyed by this so called "disaster"? And they've already made a statement about being able to back up your saves.
  3. Yet another brilliant sale on the eShop! Plenty of big games with big discounts
  4. And they said you'll get one. I'm still unsure about the "countless misunderstandings" relating to messaging, excluding the whole save backup thing which they've already said they're working on ...? They've released two trailers, a Treehouse Live segment and are (presumably) about to put out a deep dive Direct on the game. Not sure what else they can do to try and convince you I "joined in" by saying how interesting it is that gamers expect deep dives on games nowadays compared to a few gens back where we would find things out by playing the game. The gaming community is famous for making a mountain out of a molehill. A Direct is coming, previews from outlets like IGN are coming, all I'm suggesting is people be patient. I'm ok to wait to see if the game has in app purchases or not.
  5. Sure, and we'll get one this time too. I just think it's funny that wanting to know everything about a game before it's released has become the norm nowadays. Fully aware Nintendo are the ones that started the trend.
  6. And previews, reviews, gameplay videos are a thing now. Doom Eternal, Ori 2, Nioh 2 are all out in a month, no one's clamouring for a 30 minute presentation on those games outlining everything they have to offer. I'm obviously out of the loop, I'm unaware of the countless misunderstandings so far. Sure the save data/backup stuff but I hadn't heard of any others. It's posts like this that give video gamers a bad name. Seriously, just chill out. Don't lose sleep over a rating that says In App Purchases, an explanation will come. I 100% understand wanting to know about how game saves are going to be handled though. They've already said they're working on a solution and will have more info shortly. The game's out in over a month, all signs are pointing to a Direct next week so, I'm fine to just find out then.
  7. It's funny how fans expect/demand game-focused Nintendo Directs over a month before release. A far cry from back in the day where a game would come out and people would find things out by playing it. If I could resist watching it when they do have it I would, but sadly I'm not that strong willed.
  8. ResetEra had their traditional meltdown today, counting down the seconds until 2pm when a Nintendo Direct could have been announced... then grabbing their pitchforks/slashing their wrists when it didn't happen, complete with the funny-the-first-time-not-so-much-the-seven-thousandth-time "Reset the clock" gif of Idris Elba
  9. I never had a problem with Kirk’s death, not everything needs to be EPIC. He sacrificed himself to save a planet full of people. Not a bad way to go. Great film too, I loved the Enterprise-B intro and the Bird of Prey v D space battle. The latter shows how a proper space battle should be filmed. Not that nonsense Nemesis or anything from Discovery. And much as I loved Rise of Skywalker, Abrams PLEASE take note how to do vehicle combat.
  10. If anyone's interested in picking it up, nearly half off. Not sure that video will entice people on the fence though
  11. Wow, I had no idea this was out next week!! Tempted to order it off Amazon now, hopefully the campaign is good and a decent length. I know Sony are on radio silence lately, but surely they won't doom yet another quirky game with zero promotion Maybe they're wanting to soft launch it now and properly promote it on the PS5, but I'm sure they'll want all eyes on their usual AAA type games then, so
  12. Yeah the visuals are really lovely, Nintendo but with a twist, and such a great game overall. Really, really hope Ubisoft announce a sequel in a few months
  13. Enjoying King of Cards a lot. It’s also reminding me how much I prefer chip tune and N64 MIDI music to the modern orchestrated stuff. Jake Kaufman is a genius.
  14. Of course it's up to the person listening whether to agree or not. All I was saying was I don't put as much stock into the bigger name YouTube opinions and hot takes as I used to, especially with all the hyperbole you get in the gaming/entertainment industry.
  15. Half this forum don't like BOTW? They should say so more often, I've not noticed.
  16. It's funny thinking back to old episodes of Kinda Funny where Colin talks about Nintendo, the Playstation Pro, the Vita... and how utterly wrong he was on all three of them. At the time his arguments were so compelling and I believed all of them. He put out a "Same old Nintendo" video after the January Switch presentation about how the Switch would be a failure and Nintendo haven't learned from their mistakes and didn't know what they were doing etc. It savaged them. Turns out, totally wrong. Same as he was for many, many things. I like Colin and he does great work but it's just made me (personally) stop hanging on YouTubers' opinions (like I used to) because that's all they are.
  17. Played a bit of it at the Switch area at EGX a couple years ago. Good fun, there was/is just too much else to play for me to get it. Good to see them add content
  18. They certainly did. There will be save data backup functionality. Not arbitrary, done for a reason.
  19. Major Directs are usually around February, E3 and September. Much as I try not to wade through ResetEra, rumours are all pointing to an Animal Crossing Direct on the 20th and a general Direct either the week before (more likely) or the week after.
  20. Those Switch Lites look so nice, but I need to be strong. Don't need one. checks price on Amazon for the 12th time...
  21. A bit weird to have a Kickstarter for $50k isn't it? That's like 1000-1500 people worth of sales. Anyway I played this on Wii U and really loved it. It was quite unpolished but the gameplay and campaign were a lot of fun. EDIT: Sorry, just seen 50k is only for Switch and it needs to get to 500k for them to do a PS4 version.
  22. I think those ones are selling for peanuts now. They did NOT go down well, in hindsight maybe they'd have done better timed with New Horizons rather than "amiibo festival"
  23. An incredible turnaround from the Wii U. And Animal Crossing isn't even out yet, that'll be another 15 million sales. Then throw in round two of Zelda, 3D Mario, maybe Splatoon and Mario Kart... As for quirky innovative "Nintendo" like games, Labo was ultimately a miss, so it's good to see Ring Fit doing well. They've got a good mix of those types of experiences, hardcore games, multiplayer games, indies and a few big third party titles.
  24. For the record, I didn't say that ^^
  25. Wow that's the first I've heard of Playstation giving you points to spend on their store in exchange for trophies, they obviously don't shout about it. Weird that it's US only, and that they stopped it last year. Xbox seems to have it tied to GamePass games only I think. Much as I loved Fallen Order I just got the 1000/1000 on it and I was like... "Cool? " Sure it's on players to walk away from trophies if they hamper a games enjoyment but it's easier said than done if your screen keeps popping up saying you accomplished something.
