Who was it and what did they say?
-
It's a been a while! Ah yes, Paj and Chair are both MIA.
-
Difficult to tell, really. I know I've only been back for a few days and it's the holidays and all, but off the top of my head at least the Nord Iron lot and Goafer. I know there's others, I just can't put my finger on who.

I've come back here a few days ago after a lengthy hiatus, and noticed something: is it just me, or have quite a lot of the former regulars jumped ship recently? Did something happen? Another so-called epic thread or something?
-
It was very good, as per usual. A little light on the action, but I guess they needed to set up things for the series.

They say flipping a coin helps you make a decision not because of the result, but you realise what you want as the coin is in the air.

Mainly my sister: she likes to speak her mind, stand up for what she believes in, and can kill a man at 20 paces.
-
The biggest thing they need fix is the multiplayer damage model. When I double-tap a guy in the chest with an AK-47 at 30m (or arguably more annoyingly with a 9mm at arms reach), I expect the fucker to go down and stay down. Oh, and COD4 had penetrable surfaces, why doesn't Battlefield 3? Yes, making it super-realistic where a Kalashnikov round will splinter through a breeze block is too much to ask, but who knew corrugated steel sheets can stop .50 Cal rounds? If I spot someone hid in a garden shed it only makes sense to spray it with automatic fire, not have to run through the door like a madman.

Looks sweet! I'm undecided on next gen consoles, though this might make me get a 720! Or maybe just upgrade the balls out of my PC.

So apparently my sister and her fiancee stopped a mugging in Paris today. A group of teenagers went up to a woman at a cash machine in Montmatre and started shoving her and spitting on her, and trying to take her bag. They ran over and chased them off with improvised French swearing - "Allez! Allez! FUCK OFF!" All very dramatic, but go team! And apparently they were joined my a little old French man with a crutch. :awesome:

Well that was rather fun! I missed most of the last season, so it's nice to pick it all up again!
-
Good result for Spurs, I really, really hope they can get into Champions League next season. Elsewhere, did anyone see the Bundesliga results for today? Bayen Munich beat Hamburg 9-2. :awesome:

I've bought this sexy beast: I imported my DS from Canada back in the day, and my adapter from back then got burnt out by my American ex when she attempted to use her straighteners with our beastly mains voltage. One of my housemates bought Pokemon HeartGold, and I got the bug and wanted to crack out SoulSilver again...

Well, duh! The shadows and reflections are all wrong and everything. And your face is all pixelated (if it's not, it should be - boom!) :awesome:

Geez, this thread has been a bit of a retro-trip. If I recall correctly I was looking for information on the recently revealed Nintendo DS. When and why I late joined the forums, I couldn't tell you.

If any of you remember the Rothamsted Research protests last summer, they were in my town, and I walked over to watch. The level of ignorance of basic science and the sheer militant-nature of a surprisingly large proportion of the people I spoke to was frankly worrying.

£10, but one of the disks doesn't work, so I'm going to have to take it back or something. Not a happy bunny. An interesting side effect is that I now want to try and use as many Captain Haddock insults and curses as possible. :P

When you are not on the Internet, what do you do?
The fish replied to Fierce_LiNk's topic in General Chit Chat
Friends? Oh, those people I play games online with. Or those other people I have on Facebook! I spend a lot of non-internet time doing either university or "proper" work, eating, sleeping or drinking. And, on occasion, contact with other humans! -
I believe the correct assessment of yesterday's FA Cup 3rd round results is "COME ON YOU HATTERS! LUTONNNNNNN!!!"
-
Not today, unless your mum's an IT guy?
-
Yup. Well, computer maintenance/teaching prostitution...
-
Just made £80 for two hours work, and am doing the same tomorrow. Win!

My razor is too, but if, say, I've forgotten to charge it and not taken the charger on a single night away from home but need a shave, pain is in store.
-
I like my rotary (Philips) razor, though take that with two pinches of salt: - I have very pale facial hair so even when I can feel stubble it can't be seen. - When the battery is low it effectively becomes an epilator. A facial epilator. Not fun.
