This game can be so brilliant and yet frustrating in equal measures. Although the Alien feels random and at times it's soul destroying when you have done everything by the book, crept along at a snails pace and just when you are about to reach your objective the fucker drops out of a vent and kills you, there is definitely some scripting in there. At one point last night I needed to use the security scanner to open the door and every single time as soon as I started to use the scanner I got speared through the gut, it took about 12 attempts before it didn't happen and trust me it got boring after about 3. Luckily, it was just after I had saved it so at least i didn't have long play through each time. If I say the word ambulance I'm sure you'll know what i mean. I must be near the end now and really want it finished ASAP. It's a stressful game to play late at night and considering I played this straight after completing ZombiU, I really want to get back to some light hearted gaming.

Coming to the end of this game. Overall it's been a great experience. The constant floating guns is peculiar one and surely an easy fix. It's a bit cheap in constantly making you walk from one end of the map to the other to press a button and there were a few occasions where I did not know what to do because the collision detection is so finicky when liaising with objects.. I'm not sure what they could do with a sequel but the same engine using the jurassic park franchise could be brilliant. You start of with the weaker dinosaurs but as you gain extra firepower bigger dinosaurs come into the mix.

Total disaster for me, got disconnected on the 2nd lap of the 1st race, couldn't reconnect straight away and never got a notification when I could rejoin. Since I've had my ps4 the connection on the wii u has suffered, maybe it's catching.

I get this and agree with it totally, HOWEVER, there's no excuse for not allowing friends to chat. Only being able to chat/hear people on your friends list ticks all boxes for everybody, so why no do it. Mario Kart would not work with voice chat unless you could only chat with people who were in the vacinity of your kart. Otherwise it would just be noise.

WTF! I didn't realise you could choose what item to use from a crazy 8, i always assumed it was completely ransom. How do you choose?

Not for Nintendo. A new Nintendo console is focused on the controller. The gamepad isn't a gimmick, they always do something new/different with controllers.

Chelsea were set up last night to not concede and in truth did well to only concede one. Liverpool were very good and Courtios had a great game. At Stamford Bridge Mikel will be replaced by Oscar and Chelsea will be a far more attacking force. It's certainly in the balance but it would take a brave man to bet against Chelsea at the Bridge.

if it has off screen play then I'll buy this version over PS4 and it increases my game time by 80%

started this and thus far it's frustrating. If you are holding a flare how do you put it away? I'm walking around holding the bloody thing and can't get rid of it. Graphics are bloody awesome though

They know that without 3rd party support that they can't sell consoles, nobody is going to buy a wii u just for nintendo games. They need to fix this before even thinking about a new console. Their only saving grace right now is that their in-house software (which is where they make big profit margins) still sells very strongly.

This was such a major mistake by Nintendo not securing a football franchise for Wii U, I don't think you and overestimate what an effect this has had on hardware sales. The minute they knew EA had gone they should have bent over backwards to get PES from Konami. Likewise in the USA they should have got the big three american sports tied down with one publisher.

Of course everybody has different gaming tastes, but that's the problem. Nintendo are not catering for those those tastes with the Wii U. I'm not going to list every platformer but they must number 90%+ of Nintendo's output for the Wii U. They are not catering for anybody else. With the loss of 3rd party support they have an obligation to give us a football game, tennis game, FPS, driving sim etc. They can't just drop every franchise that does not sell a million copies, they have to give the gamer variety. How can anybody as good as Mario Kart as you not be into other brilliant racers like Wave Race, F-Zero & 1080 ?

RIP Wii U. It seems 1st party software has gone the way of 3rd party software. Nintendo are just trying to milk the large 3DS install base and ride out this generation.

i missed the first 20 minutes... please tell me all the Wii U stuff was at the start as all I've seen is 3DS. Now I don't want to be pedantic, but having ranted about all the platformers, I've just watched a trailer for Monster Hunter followed by X Chronicles and they both look like exactly the same game.

NO MORE PLATFORMERS!!!!!!! I would love to see some new games, not just more info on games we already know about. N64 and GC on virtual console. A proper golf sim that uses the gamepad the way we were shown in the early demo's. More gamepad focused games. Just finishing zombiu which is great and can't understand why we didn't get Alien as Sega are one of the few companies Nintendo still has a relationship with.

The N64 was a beast. I still remember playing Wave Race for the first time, the water was incredible. Really can't understand how they decided the way forward was just to make endless platformers and drop these great franchises.
